Breed: Siberian Husky (Bleh, predictable, I know. I made her piccie ages ago, and couln't get off my lazy butt to make another one. Sorry. x.x)
Appearance: Laika is a pure-bred Siberian Husky, and so her looks are mainly that of her breed. Her fur is bushy and thick, perfect for keeping out the colder weather, but it can get quite hot in summer and warmer months. Her eyes are a startling blue, and the most distinguishable festure of her. Her general figure is in fact quite slender, and she can move prettyy fast when she wants to. She is not the most physically strong of all dogs, but she can definatly get by fine on her own. She moves gracefully, and never looks untidy. Her facial features are pleasant, and she is indeed quite beautiful for a dog. She is quite small compared to others, and stands below a lot of other dogs of her same breed. A large scar runs down her hind leg, although she is reluctant to tell anyone how she got it...
Personality: Laika can definatly be described easily - Timid as anything. A past of terrible and disturbing scenes has almost damaged her mind, and effected everything she does severely. She will make a friend eventually, but by no means warms up to a stranger quickly. At first, she will appear very shy, and may not even talk to someone at all. She hates fighting above all else, and all kinds of gore or pain will bring back such sharp memories, she will just as easily burst into tears because of it. She does not tell anyone who exacty she is, or where she came from, and this includes any close friends she may make. Her life is spent hiding from invisible predators, and she will prefer to be alone, so she cannot be slowed down in her constant movement. Sometimes, though, she yearns for a family, or pack at least, deep down within her, but fear stops her from joining other dogs in a large gang. She will show utmost respect to those who deserve it, and will still probably treat others on the street well before even meeting them. Laika gets scared easily, and will be very submissive when she feels she is in trouble of any kind.
History: Laika was born a street dog - Her pure-bred traits unsuaual for those like her. The reason for this is that both her parents were once show dogs, who ran away long before she was born. Ever since she was little, tehy would tell her such stories of the humans, and how evil they were. From these impressionable moments of her childhood, she has never trusted a human again. The young pup grew up compatativly well - Her mother and father were keen hunters, and brought her only the finest foods a street dog could eat.
But it was not to last. One day, whilst exploring on her own, Laika was abducted by some strange humans that even seemed to be hiding from their own kind themselves - Although the little dog did not know why. She was taken far away in one of their cars, to a lab hidden amongst a forest, one of secrecy from the public to prevent intrusion of protesters. Here, they tested cosmetics on any animal they could find, for an annonymous company well known throughout the humans cuitures. But no-one was told of the pain and suffering behind it all, but Laika found out the hard way. Forced to go through so many painful and apparently pointless tests and experiments, the young pup grew weary and ill. It looked as if all hope was lost, until the humans came.
They had found out. The lab had been revealed, and many hidden humans came with anger to take on the labs. They overpowered human guards, and set as many animals as they could free before police were called, Laika thankfully being one of them. She emerged outside, finally, and escpaed to the streets. At first, she realised she was in-experianced and weak, and it looked as if she were doomed anyway, but by some miracle, she struggled on to become the female she is today. Now, she lives on the very same streets as she has been since the escape, and can only wonder of what the furture for her will hold...
