Thump, thump, thump
The Samoyed's tail thumped on the concrete floor, as he stared in the shop windows. He watched as things were taken out, and then two-legged creatures came out with the things clutched in their hand. Whenever a two-legged creature came out, Duke would slowly and cautiously walk up to them, and wait. For they might drop pieces of food, or he might even get a pat on his head. He took a deep breath, taking in the smell of a fresh sunny day.
His ears moved like a radar, picking up sounds from miles away. He could hear chattering among the two-legged creatures, and sounds of feet running or walking on the concrete floor. After about an hour, the Samoyed lied down, and soon fell into a deep sleep. Soon, he was woken up by the sounds of giggling and chattering. His head went up and he stared as mini two-legged creatures (children) surrounded him.
His tail thumped on the ground as he licked each child's hand. They all tasted different. Hotdogs, pretzels, french fries. The Samoyed panted softly and lied down patiently as each child petted his back. He was used to this, for many children had come up and done this to him. The trick was to be patient, and they would soon go away. And he was right. They got tired of petting him, and walked away.
Duke didn't mind though. Some other children would come, and they would want to pet him too. He looked up into the sky and watched as birds flew over his head. He happily (sp?) sighed. This truely was a perfect day. His ears picked up the sound of water flowing from a fountain and he walked up to it. He looked both ways and drank a little from it. Nobody would notice. Hopefully.
After doing that, he walked back to his spot and lied down again. There was nothing to do, but lie down and have peace and quiet. Who could ask for more? Duke sure couldn't. Right now, he felt like the luckiest dog. in the world He had everything he had ever wanted. Except for friends. yes. He would have to work on that.

Tip, tap, tip, tap Neeka's pawsteps were somewhat silent and her hips swayed as she moved. Her head bobbed up and down as her pace advanced into a trot. It was about time she would come to visit this place again. A smile was on her face as Neeka let the sun's rays embrace her, her fur shone and her eyes were bright. Neeka's jaws were parted and her pants were barely audible. Soon a new scent wafted towards her and her nostrils flared. A new dog! she thought excitedly. She'd already met Shadow by the 13th Avenue or so she had heard it was called by some dogs in the countryside.
Neeka soon saw a white figure and she tilted her head to the side, one invisible brow raised. Soon she saw that it was a breed she had never seen before and she was somewhat amazed. Neeka slackened her pace and soon came to a halt a good distance away from the dog. "Ello, I'm Neeka." she introduced herself and her smile was still on her beautiful features. Her tail gave a small wag as she watched the dog, soon making out it was a male. Neeka's cheks were a little bit warm and she parted her jaws, "I hope I don't sound rude but, what breed are you?" Neeka's gaze strayed from the male and she looked down to her paws. After a while however, she raied her head a little to meet her gaze with the male. He seemed interesting and Neeka wouldn't mind to get to know him.

Duke's head rose up as he heard a canine speak. His ears twitched as he heard the canine's name. "Pleasure to meet you Neeka, you can call me Duke," he said. He bowed a little and smiled. "Don't worry, I don't mind. I'm a Samoyed," he said proudly. He smiled at the dog and his tail wagged slowly. "If you don't mind me asking, but how long have you been here?" he asked.
His eyes looked right at Neeka's eyes. Her expression seemed soft, and trustworthy, but hey, you can't tell by just looking. Even though he looked gentle and harmless right now, he was ready if this dog was gonna attack. But for now, he sensed that this dog wasn't here for violence. He took a deep breath and looked one way, and then the other.
His ears moved like radar, picking up sounds. He heard children laughing, and he looked back at Neeka. His head cocked to one side, and he panted silently. He then thought that it wa rude, lying down infront of a guest, so he quickly stood up. " 'orry 'bout that," he said. He shook his head and then his body.
I hope this Neeka isn't violent, or there will be a bloody scene on a beautiful day like this, he thought. Besides, he didn't have much energy. But she wouldn't attack. Hopefully...

"It's a pleasure to meetcha too, Duke!" Neeka said excitedly. Neeka tilted her head to the side and smiled sweetly. A Samoyed! They sure are a wonderful breed! she thought and kept smiling. Ears then pricked up as he spoke. Neeka slowly sat down, the hard soil touched her rump and it felt somewhat coldish. "I've been here all my life, 'tis a beautiful place, eh?" she answered and licked the top and bottom of her lips to moistion then. Her tail gave small wags as she sat there and watched the male. Could he harm any threat? Nah, surely not, not if Neeka didn't attack which she wouldn't do anyway. Neeka remained silent and soon listened as he spoke again. "S'okay, I dun mind" she said and closed her eyes for a moment. It was a beautiful day, no one could deny it.
Neeka's gaze strayed from Duke to look around. She could see the little shops, children laughing, people chatting, the fountain running; it was beautiful. Although Neeka wasn't very fond of children she didn't seem to mind their loud screeches of laughter. But it did rather annoy her at times. "And how about you, Duke? How long have you been here, if you don't mind me askin'" Neeka said rather randomly. The sun was upon them all, making Neeka's fur somewhat shimmer a little. Some bit of her brown pelt was shimmering brightly, some not so brightly, but nonetheless they shone. Neeka was still sitting and the ground didn't seem so cold anymore. Now she waited for a reply.

Left, right. Left, right. left, right. The marching rythem was taken by a rather large like female. Her head lowered as she moved through the street. A loud honk, and the sound of scraping claws could be heard next. Tovah ran for the side of the street stopping, and heaving in the air. Oh how great the air felt in her lungs; her heart stopped pounding fast, and began to slow down. She heaved in the ai and looked around that area. Nothing much was here. It was better then the city. Not a lot of trash was piled up here, plus not many humans walked along the side of the road she she was free from those small grasping hands of little children.
The human village here was smaller, and a bit quieter then the city. The cars didn't roam these lands with the speed the city cars drove at. Humans weren't piled on top of one another here either waiting for a simple light to change so they could cross. No. This place was so much different, and so much better.
Her ears pricked forwad, some of her snowy white fur fell over the deep brown eyes, making them blink a couple times. Her head lowered and she took in the scents of something she thought she had heard up a head. Aye, she was right. There were other dogs here. Two of them infact. Maybe two friends? Well hopefully. Yet you never knew out here, what you think is a friend could be the enemy of the streets, and attack you. She shook her head scolding herself out loud. " No don't think like that, stupid. You always think of something negetive to ruin a good day." She mummbled at herself and contiued forward. The pair now could be seen. One was as white as she, and another was colored with naturel shades of brown.
She smiled and moved closer stopping about 16 feet away. Was she welcomed here? Or should she leave them be? God knew what she should do. This poor dog could never make up her mind. Should she do this or that, go there or stay here? She shook her head yet again and looked towards the two, and gave off a faint grin. " He- Hey. I'm Tovah. And you two are?" She asked and moved another couple feet closer stopping and watching them carefully.

Duke looked at Neeka for a moment. "Well I-" He was cut off when he heard a new voice touch his ears. He smiled at this newcomer. "Greetings Tovah. I'm Duke," he said, bowing a little. He sighed a relief. He didn't know how long he had been here, so he felt lucky that he was cut off, and didn't have to answer Neeka. He opened his mouth, and then closed it again. He had been about to introduce Neeka, but instead he let her do it.
He smiled warmly at Tovah. Tovah looked like a kind dog, and didn't look violent. He took a deep breath and let it out. This day was getting better and better. He sat his bottom down. He decided to be polite to these ladies. "You look gorgeous Tovah," he said. He looked at Neeka and thought for a moment. What should he say to Neeka? "You look gorgeous too Neeka," he said.
It just came out of his mouth. He didn't think, and it just came out. He smiled at the two dogs again. He hoped that they would all become good friends. If they did, Duke would enjoy it.

She smiled to Duke giving him a small nod in greeting. She then smirked at his line. " Aren't you a gentleman. Never hear a dog say that after meeting someone." She gave him a small smirk and wrapped her bushy tail around her left hip. Her ears perked up, taking in the sounds, as he nose was taking in all the scents. She already got Neeka, and Duke memorized for maybe another time they would meet. She smiled again and looked around. " Nice place. Makes me think why I never came here before." She then turned back to Dkue, and decided to return a compliment. " OH and Duke you look kind of cute yourself." She smiled at him warmly.
She was slightly odd. Not embaressed to say what she thought, or how she felt. Or not taken a back by anything anyone else said. She looked around the area once more, her deep brown eyes scanning every bit of the area she could. This would be there speacil spot. If they became friends at least. All three of them could come here and remember the day they met. The scene already played out in her mind. A smile crossed her lips and she then looked to Neeka, and Duke.
