Former Friends actress Jennifer Aniston has reportedly called off her engagement to Vince Vaughn.

The couple recently starred together in new film �The Break-Up� and although they did not ever publicly admit to being a couple or engaged, it was widely speculated that they were gearing up to get married.

Some had claimed that the couple's 'relationship' was played up for publicity reasons..this theory now seems more plausible then ever.

Life & Style magazine has claimed that Aniston has turned to her good friends Courtney Cox, Gabrielle Reece and Sheryl Crow for support and is referring to herself as �the new Jen�.

Aniston divorced from her ex-husband Brad Pitt last year�he is currently living with actress Angelina Jolie, their new baby Shiloh Nouvel and their two adopted children Maddox and Zahara.

Surely Aniston should really be calling herself �the old Jen� these days?

Pitt walked out on Aniston after falling in love with Hollywood temptress Angelina Jolie, who recently gave birth to their daughter, Shiloh, in Namibia, Africa.

Aniston and Pitt are co-owners of a film company, Plan B, which is making a movie about Daniel Pearl, the American journalist kidnapped and eventually executed by terrorists in Pakistan in 2002.
Aniston was reportedly furious after Pitt gave the coveted role of Pearl's wife, Mariane, to Jolie.

US media had claimed Aniston wanted the role for herself.

The actress, who has been dating her 'Break Up' co-star for a year, had her hopes of a wedding dashed when Vince ruled out the prospect of them ever tying the knot.
Following a romantic break in Mexico, Vince has reportedly distanced himself from the 37-year-old actress and refuses to discuss marriage.

A source told Britain's Star magazine: "Talk of marriage or engagement is complete hogwash. Vince appears to have gone distant, and Jen is looking no further than a day at a time.

"There have been rumours of an engagement, even claims they married in secret. But those stories are without foundation.

"Jen expected so much from this relationship but they are struggling to overcome these problems."

Now that Vince is shooting his new movie in South Dakota and Jen is living in Los Angeles, the pair are spending most of their time apart.

The source added: "After everything Jen has been through, she feels let down that Vince hasn't yet - after all this time - made his mind up about her." Vince has reportedly given the former 'Friends' actress a 'friendship ring' but has made it clear he is not ready to settle down yet.
