New York, 2016. For the last decade, a Vampire known only as The Barron has been sending out notes to the vampires of New York, goading them into playing a Love Game. Get a mortal to fall in love, but don't fall themselves. The reward? A Cure to vampirism.

The Resistance -- a group of slayers funded by the FBI -- have moved into New York City, and Albany (where it is said the Barron makes his home). They're keeping close tabs on the city's vampiric activity.

Mortals are left with a curfew in the city that never sleeps, and a few paranormal enthusiasts trying to make a name for themselves.
