HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT ! Why don’t you hit me with your best shot! Hit me with your best shot! Fire away! You come on with a "come on", you don’t fight fair But that’s o.k., see if I care! Knock me down, it’s all in vain I’ll get right back on my feetagain! ------------------------------------------Today was finally a nice day after the several days of rain, and overcast weather the city seemed to have. The sun was now poking through the clouds and the rain was finally gone. After being cooped up in her apartment the past few days, Missy decided to take advantage of the nice weather and go out for a walk. She grabbed her things and headed out for the day. Missy had yet to really explore the areas surrendering her apartment building. Most of the time she liked to stay hidden away in her apartment since normally the area she was living in was a bit rough. This time however she managed to work a deal out with the man who owned the apartment complex. She agreed to basically being his handyman when things like, air conditioners, washing machines and other things broke. Most of them were an easy fix for her and it didn’t take much effort to fix them. For fixing them she got to live there at a much cheaper price. She knew she was being taken advantage of in certain ways, but she hadn’t lived in a place that nice before in a long time. Walking around, Missy was surprised at the amount of little shops and boutiques there was around. All Missy had to do was look into the window and she knew everything in there was far out of her price range, didn’t mean she couldn’t look. She got a lot of her thing by working out deals with people. Fixing some machines for a local grocery store to get a weekly bundle of groceries. There was a thrift store that needed their cash registers fixed; she got some good clothing out of that one. She wasn’t living in complete luxury but she was happy. She came to New York to find her brother, and she did. She could liv with not having new shirts. Walking away from the stores she spotted a small café, she figured she could stop for some coffee. She sat down at a table near the back by some windows. The place was actually rather charming, small but it looked like it did some good business. After ordering coffee from an under enthusiastic waitress, she sat back and decided to people watch for a while. You could be surprised how much you could learn about someone by just watching the way they interacted with others. It was something always interested her. SALT IN MY EYESStinging my brain. Crawl in the cave looking for light but the ceiling descends and still it's dark. Hey there, don't declare optimist it's clear you resist. I try all the time to get it right and still it persists. Touched that you think I'm a heartless old crank and there's things that I've done to convict me of that. Try to look out eyes straight and fast but I've struggled of late, my head in the past. Hey there, don't despair get in the cave. We live day and night to find the right sort of light.William breathed evenly. Others in his situation would have all the symptoms of sun fever. Red in the cheeks and nose in worry, from blood pounding into them. feeling light-headed and heavy at the same time. Sweating, and breathing heavily. All things that bypassed this character. It wasn't that he was special, though there couldn't be a debate in the world that could say he wasn't, it was because William had learned to keep himself in good control of his body language. Like everything, he had it down to a science. It was something he'd learned when he was young, so no one could ever know more about him than he let on himself. It was all in how he kept the muscles in his face and body adjusted, making himself seem less suspicious than he was. William was a master at many things, most of which were not frivolous talents that would come to play in no opportunistic times, especially in a tight spot that he'd need. No, none of these were silly games, though he made them into games sometimes. He never used them for anything but personal and professional gain. But now wasn't about him.. He'd been watching her for a long time, keeping an eye on her, learning about her abilities by jumping into the stores and finding her patches on machines that he'd intentionally sabotaged. Not in a way she or anyone would notice, but just enough so he could see what kind of skills she had. This Connolly girl had been skilled. Skilled enough to add on a gravmetric temporal configuration to a simple forklift, which made it function at a much higher level than its current tech would allow it. It was ingenious. Something William would had done in his younger years. In a moment she'd been asleep, he'd teleported into her apartment, attaching a small and undetectable bug onto her shoe, which was on the move from a early part of the morning this day William now trekked through. He decided, despite his reoccurring fear that he'd be shot, that wearing his coat would make him seem more conspicuous, and decided to just wear a suit and appear to be a normal businessman. He'd been following her along the boutiques and stores for a little bit by the time she decided to enter a small cafe` by the name of "The Planet". He knew of this small shop, as a super with a power of hyper-intuition ran it, knowing what everyone desired by just looking at them. A nearly useless power, but it was something that entertained William. The metahuman that ran it didn't even know he had a superpower, and so William left it at that. Connolly was a different story. She was well-aware of what she had, and William intended to use it."Excuse me," he began, touching her shoulder and giving her a small smile. "Do you mind if I sit here?" he motioned to the seat across from her, his smile even and natural on his face.NOTES : Bleh, writing is hard. WORDS : 509♥

------------------------------------------Missy barely noticed when the waitress brought her coffee; she was too fixated on the people in the café. She was focusing on the people and taking in every detail about them she could. It was sort of like a game to her, it was something she had done ever since she was a young girl. She could remember walking through a park with her mom and pointing out small things that even her mom didn’t notice and somehow the six year old did. Missy first looked at what looked like a couple sitting together at a small table. To anyone else they probably would look like another couple but to her she saw so much more. It was an affair, there were so many subtle clues if one was to look hard enough. The woman had a clear tan line from where a wedding ring should be. It could be she was recently divorced but the tan was too pronounced, unless the divorce happened very recently. But then there was the fact that the two of them seemed as if they were trying to cover themselves. The woman was wearing sunglasses indoors, and a hat that seemed to cover her face. The man was wearing a baseball hat and a shirt that he looked uncomfortable in. So they were trying to cover up? Didn’t want to be noticed? She wished she were closer so she could get a better look at them, get more information. Her eyes darted to the line of people getting their coffee to go. She jumped from person to person trying to figure anything out about them. One was a teacher, retired, business person. Suddenly all the information was flying at her all at the same time. Teachers. Teachers in China are respected and paid well. In accient Greece the most respected teacher was a music teacher. The average age for retirement nowadays was early 60’s. Missy closed her eyes trying to make the information stop. This happened to her sometimes, information came too quickly and she didn’t have time to sort it out. There were nights were she couldn’t sleep because her mind was racing. She couldn’t control it sometimes. Missy opened her eyes but the information came flying again. Coffe is the second most traded product in the world. A man by the name of George Washington invented instant coffee. The information wasn’t going to stop. Everything was still flying by her until she felt a small touch on her shoulder. Suddenly it all stopped, all the noise of the café came back, everything picked up to its normal pace. It was back to how it should be. Looking up at who the hand belonged to, she was greeted with a smiling face. She couldn’t think of any reason not to let the man sit with her, company was always nice to have since she didn’t get to talk to a lot of people. “Sure, please sit” she said smiling back at the man. “I’m Missy” she told the man, wanting to learn his name. We live day and night to find the right sort of light.ExcellentWilliam gave her a soft smile, keeping himself in perfect control of the range of emotions that played upon his face. The structure was a simple puzzle that he kept the trick a secret. No one really knew that he did that; manipulated his own facial expressions to get exactly what he wanted. His father had told him that he had the power to do great things; all that he needed was guidance. William Jr. hadn't even needed that. He was better than his father had been. Better at everything. His father hadn't even known, because it had all been a secret, and William's secrets were kept in a vault, one that was in his mind and would never be opened.William forced his body to relax, giving the girl no need to feel at all hesitant with talking with him. The small smile he had given her stayed on his face, letting it grow just slightly. "I'm Will." He gave a casual shortening of his name in an effort to relax her even further. "Nice to meet you, Missy. Is that short for Melissa, or is it just Melissa?" He took a short sip of his drink, tasting the bitter liquid in his mouth, letting the hot tea sink into the back of his mouth and into his throat. It was stronger than he usually liked, but it would do for now. He could feign liking it for now. She was a good girl, he knew it. Not the type that would join the Syndicate without a good reason. That would be the hard part. He mentally made a not of this, and rested his head in the palm of his hand, supporting them both with his elbow that had found itself a spot on the table.NOTES : Bleh, writing is hard. WORDS : 300♥

Knock me down, it’s all in vain I’ll get right back on my feetagain! ------------------------------------------Missy watched him sit down and tried to study his face, his body movements, his clothing. It was odd she wasn't really sure what to make out of him. But what she was getting from his relaxed. Most people if they were planning something they would uptight or fidgety, but he was totally relaxed. She figured he was just someone who was looking for someone to sit with. Or that was what he seemed like he was. She relaxed slightly and took a sip of her coffee. "It's short for Melissa but any hardly calls me that anymore. I'm surprised you guess that, everyone just assumes it's my name" she said giving a small shrug. "Will is easy. William. Though not sure if it's pronouced Will-eyem or Will-em. Going to guess it's the first since that seems more popular an...I'm sorry I'm rambling. I tend to do that, a lot" she gave a small chuckle and took another sip of her coffee. Missy looked him over again, trying to pick up on any changes he might have given off but so far she couldn't pick anything up. She had no clue who she was dealing with and how he was like her. How their minds though similarly and how he was able to manipulate how his face was. Missy looked around the cafe before looking back to him. She hated awkward silences, so she quickly spoke up again. "Do you work by here? You seem like you're a business guy...though I'm not really sure what is around here" she said fiddling with the cup in her hand. After a moment Missy let out a small sigh. She was doing it again, talking too much." I'm doing all the talking now, sorry. Your turn" she said with a slightly laugh. Try to look out eyes straight and fast but I've struggled of late, my head in the past. Hey there, don't despair get in the cave. We live day and night to find the right sort of light.William smiled a her ranting. He'd done a similar thing when he was young. It was interesting to watch her chatter on. The way she breathed and the way she kept her hand around her coffee were all tell-tale signs of her high intelligence. He would probably be the same if his father hadn't been sure to train him properly, making sure that William got the right kind of tutoring for a brain with capabilities like his own. IT was incredible to watch her- someone that hadn't had the experiences he'd had or the right mentoring. She was interesting to him in every way.William gave a soft laugh, "Yes. It's William. 'Will-yem'. Most people call me Will, though." Lie. "I assumed that was your name because I know a few girls who go by Missy and their names are Melissa. It's interesting that someone would assume your name to be simply Missy. But who am I to judge?"Who indeed. William was a greater being than all of them. Those that thought they were something special were wrong. William was greater than all of those that were born without the super gene. He was the next stage in the evolutionary process. How could someone disagree? How could they know what William was capable of and think that they stood up to his mind? His ind was his greatest asset, probably even greater than Viktor's. It was unfortunate that such things were the reason that he could barely keep himself alive. He took a drink of his iced tea, the cool liquid welcomed into his body. William pushed his feelings aside, keeping his body under his control. Just seeming to be relaxed and rather confident. Which he was, but for other reasons than what people would think. He was confident in her."Actually, I'm a scientist. Researcher, mainly." It was one of his go-to lies when meeting people. He gave her a soft smile, "It's fine, I don't mind the talking. Plus my job is a rather boring one, so if you want to talk, go ahead." He gave her a small laugh, shaking his head. NOTES : Bleh, writing is hard. WORDS : 300♥

Knock me down, it’s all in vain I’ll get right back on my feetagain! ------------------------------------------Missy tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear after she finished her small ranting, “Sorry…I just have a lot going on in my head. I forget that I talk too much and that no one really wants to hear it” she said giving a sheepish smile. Though, seeing him smile at her made her relax more. It seemed as if he didn’t mind her odd ranting, maybe he just wanted someone to talk to. Why was he sitting with her? Missy couldn’t help but think about it now. She thought that maybe he just wanted someone to talk to, but it didn’t seem like he was doing a whole lot of talking. It could be she was just over thinking this too much but she couldn’t help it. The wheels in her head were turning now and she was curious about who this man really was. There was a nagging feeling in the back of her head that told her he just lied to her. But she couldn’t be sure. She tried to let it go but this whole thing was a bit weird to her. She just hoped this was not going to turn into something bad, she had done a good job at making sure she didn’t make people mad. She couldn’t think of anything she might have done that would piss someone off enough to send someone after her. She was just getting paranoid now. Missy smiled again, “I like Will or William. They are bother nice.” She gave a small shrug at what he said next, “People name their baby Blue and Apple, wouldn’t be surprised if someone’s real name is just Missy” she said giving a small laugh. She took a sip of her coffee and looked back over at him. Reading his body language again she still got the same thing, relaxed, confident. It wasn’t something she would pick up from someone who wanted something bad. People were tense, nervous, fidgeting when they knew they had to do something important. Not him though, she has to just be over thinking this all. “What do you research?” she asked, taking another sip of her drink. “Can’t be all that entertaining if you said it can be rather boring.”TAG: william WORDS: 375 OUTFIT: HEREcredit thanks to turn your way' of caution

Try to look out eyes straight and fast but I've struggled of late, my head in the past. Hey there, don't despair get in the cave. We live day and night to find the right sort of light."I know the feeling." William said, half under his breath. He was getting uneasy, though he refused to show it. He was never good at small talk or anything of the like. He wanted to talk to this girl about his creation of HOSPITAL and how he could give her the same opportunities. It wasn't fair that these things were restricted by the etiquette of normal society. Even the two of them, advanced as they were, were hindered by what was safe and normal. What kind of life was that to lead?It wasn't one. It was simply a conundrum that William had to face. He didn't want to scare this girl, but he also didn't want her to slip away, like a fish in a net, small enough to fall through the holes, back out to sea. She would never be anyone's sushi, she was too clever a fish, and she would never be caught, unless William could entice her with the right kind of bait. And that was why he was here now, floating around in the sea of people, trying to figure out what sort of temptation to send out for this girl with the mind of a million."I like Melissa. It's nice and easy. But Missy is nice too, a little more bold than Melissa sounds." He gave her a slight shrug, drinking more of his tea as she continued talking. She was nice enough with her words, though the tone in her voice was changing. She was beginning to become suspicious of him. He could barely believe it, how much longer did he have keep up this charade before she would figure him out?"To be perfectly honest, dear, I'm not a researcher." William said bluntly, losing a little of his charming persona, yet still remaining polite. "I think you've picked up on that much. I'm not who I say I am."NOTES : Bleh, writing is hard. WORDS : 318♥
