ended april 25th. Saturday is by far the most busy day at the banks of the City of London. All those people running the rat race from nine to five take a moment or two on that one coveted day of freedom at the end of each week to deposit their checks, exchange their currency, beg for loans, and generally perform all of the financial tasks that have been put off for as long as possible. Given Seth Lockwood's prominence within the Chevalier hierarchy, it's no surprise that his banks see the most traffic in the city. Traditionally, the Chevalier Family has hosted the Masquerade Ball each Summer in the past 32 years. This year is no different! Well, except for the fact that this time - for the first time in history - the Romanov and Santiago households have also been invited along, in honour of the tentative truce between the three ruling families since the concert at Wembley. The ball will be held at Kensington Palace, which is a Chevalier owned establishment. The Ball will be open to both the Families and commoners alike - though the latter will have to purchase their own tickets, and the prices are quite steep! Fortunately, as is tradition, the Chevaliers are graciously donating a number of tickets to charity, meaning that some poor souls out there have the chance to win a ticket and be invited to the ball alongside the rich and famous - they'll even have access to the VIP sections! So remember to check your mail ... You may be among the lucky few! The ball for the regular joes will be held outside in the palace gardens, famous for its beautiful scenery. Several large pavillions will be erected on the lawn, with dancefloors and bars inside. There will be seating arrangements, and guests will be provided with menus which they can order food and refreshments from. A live band will be setting the mood, and waiters will cater to your every need for the entirety of the evening! The palace itself is reserved for the Familes and their entourages. There is a ballroom with a dancefloor, music, and bars. Upstairs is a large dining hall, with circular tables seating up to 10 people each. The VIP guests will be served five courses throughout the night, and have free access to the bars all night. A brand new feature has been installed on the palace roof - a labyrinth! Tall green shrubs arranged in a perplexing maze, and in the center is a tall, impressive fountain. There are carved nooks in the greenery where solid marble benches have been placed in case some of the guests need a place to sit or cuddle. Of course, this is a MASQUERADE ball, and as such no guest will be permitted entrance - VIP or otherwise - if they are not dressed appropriately! Floor length ball gowns for the women, coattails and bowtie for the men - and of course, the masks! Simple elegant, or big, lavish Venetian style get-ups ... The choice is yours - but it must cover your face the entire night! Masks are removed at the stroke of midnight, not a minute before!
