Shifters, or shapeshifters is a species that can as the name explain change their appearance at will. Depending on their family, they take on the form of an animal. It is their blood, they are born with the shifter gene. They normally take the form of an animal native to the area they are from...At least their ancestors before them who could shift and what they turned into. These species for the most part is relatively unheard of, they tend to stick with their families and only shift when danger is around in order to protect themselves. After all a tiger or a bear would be impossible not to notice out in public. The transformation can happen at any time, and isn't dependent upon a full moon like a werewolf. Of course the younger a shifter is, the harder it is for them to control it. They are known to phase when they lose their temper. They first shift at about the age if thirteen, and until then...they show no signs that they are different than any other human. They are known as the silent protectors, meant to keep humans safe from vampires and werewolves. Now with each shifter, they are all unique considering each family of shifters...will become a different animal. Basically, you need to claim an animal after making one because no two are alike unless related..<p>


<b>STRENGTHS</b><p>

<b>Heightened senses:</b> There senses rival that of a vampire, they are faster...stronger, and over all much more powerful than any human. Some believe the shifter was original created by a witch so that humans could be able to have a fair chance of protecting themselves. <p>

<b>Shift at will:</b> A shifter can change whenever the wish to...of course if they lose control of themselves they will change whether they want to or not. <p>


<b>WEAKNESSES</b><p>


<b>Wolfsbane: </b>When ingested, wolfsbane causes a shifter to become severely weak and feverish. Although, If a shifter's skin is exposed to wolfsbane, it can result in burning them.<p>

<b>Broken Neck:</b> By breaking a shifters neck, it results in instant death.<p>

<b>Magic: </b>Witches are able to curse and inflict supernaturals aneurysms that cause the blood vessels of shifters to explode.<p>

<b>Heart Extraction:</b> If the heart of a shifter is removed , it will cause instant death. <p>
