He likes to think he's the bees knees and maybe he is. (We all know he actually isn't) He has grown up believing he is better than most at things when really, he is probably average at best. He has a large ego which ends up biting him in the backside a lot of times. It's really his parents who were to blame for his large amount of self esteem due to the fact they babied up up until he left for Hogwarts. You could say they were what we term as hippies, believing in free will and the ability for their one and only son to do 'great things'. It's safe to say he thinks he will be something great one day but really he could very well end up in a ditch somewhere drinking himself into a coma.Loyal- He's loyal to the point of stupidity. He will jump in front of a killing curse for a friend of a family member and wouldn't think twice about it. Despite the fact that many think of him as being rather selfish, he is in fact selfless when it comes to the safety of those he deems his closest friends. He would do almost anything for them. Furthermore, he would bend over backwards to do whatever it is that you need, even if it's in the dead of night for someone he considers close to him. I couldn't count on him though if you aren't close. He wouldn't bat an eyelid to you.Blunt - It's safe to say that Jude doesn't have a filter. He tends to just speak without necessarily thinking it through which has landed him in many many fights. He has come home one night when he was younger with a black eye. He likes to put on a bit of a show but really, he isn't much of a fighter. A girl could very well beat him up physically if they wanted to. He has never had a problem telling you if those jeans make you look fat because in his eyes, it's the truth. Yes, it may upset you but you either love him, or love to hate him. Charming - He has had his fair share of women in his life but never many who had decided to stick around. Never being one to stick with a girl for too long due to his short attention span, Jude has found it easier to remain a forever bachelor in Hogwarts if he can help it. He likes to be charming and to flirt but to keep a girl for too long seems unreasonable in his eyes. Girls are, and I quote him here, "Too confusing and constantly change their minds. Why would I want to deal with that everyday? No thanks." He doesn't like the thought of being stuck being with one person for the rest of his life but it could be the fact that he is a bloke after all, and a young one at that. Competitive- He is very much a competitive person. He likes to think that winners in sports will eventually be winners in life. In his humble opinion, he believes that those who don't do well in school now, will never achieve anything in life. They will be 'losers' or idiots. Even on the Quidditch pitch he is overly aggressive. It's the only time where he feels he is on a level playing field in a decent fight. Having been a relatively good beater, he is overly competitive and has been sent off the field far too many times for getting a little too aggressive. He has always felt the need to try and get ahead despite the fact his ego already thinks he is. He does know that there are better people than himself but he doesn't like to fully admit to it yet.Spontaneous- Spontaneous by nature, Jude has never followed the rules. The amount of times he has found myself writing lines is beyond ridiculous. He has probably spent more time writing lines than he has eating in the Great Hall. He doesn't like to follo guidelines or rules for that matter and has snuck in his fair share of time into the Forbidden Forest. He doesn't like to be tied down to doing things and so spends most of his time doing whatever pops up in his head. Most of the time it's something stupid and he has on many occasions had Emmeline Vance tell him off for breaking the rules but since when did he ever listen to that silly bat of a girl?FIVE FAVOURITE THINGSHis owl Merlin - "Silly old bugger of an owl that one. You know one day he bit my dad's finger just for attempting to pet him? He's blind in one eye though I like to tell him he looks like a pirate. Speaking of which I should attempt to go get him an eye patch. Can you get eye patches for pets? Maybe that would be a good business venture to get into in the future. Yeah.. nice. Anyhow, Merlin is my parents old owl but since I needed something for school, they gave me him and so he's stuck by me ever since. Can't stand him half the time. He once ripped up my homework and of course, Binns didn't believe but it was true. Ripped it right up and everything. He is more trouble than he is worth that owl I swear."His broom - "Best broom yet mate. I can see you eying it but hands off it's mine. I craved my name into it and everything. Mum got it for me for Christmas and it flies like a bloody dream I tell you. I haven't been beat on it though who would beat me am I right? Merlin knows I have the stills and everything to boot but the broom just adds ten more cool points to yours truly. I had this crap one last year though. Fell off it and it went and hit the Whomping Willow. Safe to say the only thing it was good for after that fight was a toothpick. Can't say my parents were too impressed but it wasn't my fault."Girls - "If girls didn't talk quite so much I might actually like hanging around them. No use there though I'm afraid. There is only so much I can take when all I hear from a girl is about her period or when she last ate and if this dress made her look fat. How am I meant to answer that? If you ask me that's setting you right up to fail. I learned that they never want you to actually call them fat even if it is a size or two too small. CLearly honesty is not the best policy when it comes to girls. Figures.."His sister - "Love that girl to pieces but she's a handful. Always flirting with boys when she is far too young for that. She shouldn't be able to date anything until she is at least thirty.. no.. fifty. Wait.. if she's fifty she'll be a bit old. Can't have her turning into one of those crazy cat lady types now. Suppose that's why some people tell me to bugger off but they just need to relax. First and only son in the Stebbins family, Jude was doted upon by his rather hippy like mother who found that babying her son would eventually make him have a strong character in the long run. A year after his birth, the youngest member of the Stebbins family was born. Jude wasn't originally keen on his younger sisters arrival, finding that the attention was taken away from him for the time being. He would eventually start to throw and break things in order to get some form of attention from his mother and father. Of course, this never really worked and ended up with him getting a slap across the head and sentenced to the dreaded naughty step designed by his mother's Muggle ways. The step in which no child was able to remove themselves from and the worse punishment of them all. It was a mind game, one that Jude could never win and winning was his favourite part of games after all.When growing up, Jude used to sneak out of the house at night, playing in the park that was close to his house with a few Muggle friends. Of course rough housing happened between the boys and on many occasions, Jude would return with a black eye, simply saying he had fallen from the tree he had been climbing and this was the result. He was never much of a fighter and his father knew this. He was definitely more talk than action kind of bloke and many times his father would pull him aside and tell him to grow up and stop acting stupid. He would say he would but of course the same thing happened on later on that night and the scratches and black eyes became a norm to the Stebbin family.The day the owl came delivering his letter from Hogwarts had been a good day indeed. He had been sitting around eating Merlin knows what around the house when the owl threw through the window. For a long moment, Jude simply stared at the bird as he was handed the letter. Staring at it with shaking fingers, he opened it slowly seeing it was addressed to him. He had been accepted to attend Hogwarts just as his father had been. His mother of course knew very little about the school but that didn't matter. He had almost forgotten about the magical school his father had often told them about during dinner. He would tell him about the many times he had roamed the hallways and attended classes. He even got his own wand. A small smirk appeared on his face when he knew he would eventually get to be on his own. More trouble to get into was the first thing that crossed his mind at the thought of being away from his parents. As soon as he was off to Hogwarts on that train, he was as happy as ever. Sure, his sister and family would be safe at home but he was the lucky one who got to make new friends and explore the castle his father had spoken about for years in person. When Jude finally got settled in Hogwarts and made friends with the people in his house, he had started to make a name for himself. Always the boisterous boy, he would often pull pranks of students and teachers alike and getting into quite a fair share of trouble over the years. His practical jokes had also made him a few enemies in his day but it didn't matter. He had grown the close group of friends he needed, most boys and eventually got around to trying out for the Quidditch team. Beater seemed to fit him fine, finding himself benched for a while after hitting a student on the opposite team which to this day he still says was an accident. He had also attended his fair share of parties and get togethers with girls had become a regular thing but he had never settled down with any of them. Choosing to become a bachelor for most of his stay in Hogwarts, he said he didn't understand women well enough to want to date them for long periods of time. There was only so much he could do without wanting to tel a girl that yes, those trousers did make you look fat. Now in his sixth year, he has started to settle down slightly knowing full well he has both his sister to look after the fact that he also has to decide on what he wanted to do with his life once Hogwarts ends for him. Thinking that professional Quidditch may be the only option for him because he certainly wasn't book smart, he knew his Quidditch skills might give him an edge over the many others who tried out for the teams every year. Quidditch after all was his strength and only strength it seemed to be considering he was going average to almost below average in many of his classes. He put this all down due to not actually attending class to do well in anything but he is trying to change his ways.
