i'm not here for sure, just here for more.--- 926. --- aurora. --- she's spacey. It seemed Asia spent, at least, the third most of her time behind the walls of her childhood - first Mungo's and then the bar home. It was relaxing here and it seemed all her favorite people worked here now, so she always had an excuse to be wandering the halls. She might even think some of the students might even know who she was by now, especially the Magical Creatures students, as she spends most of her visits with her brother. It's funny how nothing seems to change, still the same medieval castle and four houses with the same prejudices. Well, they were partially correct, that she couldn't deny. Herself being a Hufflepuff, she was one of the sweetest girls, and a sort of pushover. Though, she did have a knack for getting into hairy situations, usually because of her boyfriend. It started in the fifth year, and they were somewhat of an inseparable pair. It made it all the much harder to believe the note he left on graduation day. The heart never heals from an open door someone said was shut, but did not shut it. So many years, and she was still resentful towards her Slytherin. It didn't help, them residing so close together - the dungeons. As if they would be safe co-existing so close together. She scoffed; that was hardly the case. Slytherins barely noticed the Puff's, and the Puff's ignored them, mostly. And, when one started to date, well, it was not perfect. Asia remembered his anger when someone would have the audacity to call him out. He might not have been the sweetest boyfriend, but he did do things you wouldn't expect him to, like stick up for her and call his own house out. He was just as strange as she was. The cold air that seemed to rise from her left made her take a quick glance towards the dungeon's entrance. She missed him, sure, but there were tons of good memories of people still here - chances missed. Michael, her first crush. How she would cling to him almost as much as her brother. Asia spent a lot of extra effort trying to steal his attention away from Silas, so that he might notice her in that special way - very childish things: teasing, dragging him to Quidditch games, distracting him in class, feigning help on homework and all the normal things a little girl might try. Then without warning, she fell in love with someone else, and for the rest of her fifth year, she spent it debating over one of her best friends and her bad boy boyfriend. Sometimes she wonders if she made a mistake. If she would have kept going, would he have eventually gave into her? She laughed a little out loud. And, where would they be now? Instead of friendly visits and innocent dates, they might have been married (she imagined no one would be a better fit than him to Silas) and had kids. But, would those kids have died, too? The thought of Lici's mangled body flashed before her eyes, and she leaned against the wall for support. Everything was still so horrifyingly fresh, the smell in the air, the way people held her back saying, there's nothing we can do. She loved that little girl so much, as much as she'd imagined she'd love her own child. Wounds like that don't heal. Cursed. She hated the word, but she couldn't help but wonder if it were true. There are too many events in her life that are hard to all chalk up to misfortune but she must. The moment she started to delve in the idea of such a plight on her family, she was released from work for a weak. Everyone in her family had a cross to bare, whether it was the pain of still being alive or the warning mark above their graves. Maybe she was meant to be alone, no kids, no marriage and would time eventually take away her Silas? It would be so much more than a loss, a part of her would die. That's the thing about twins that one wouldn't understand unless they too shared a womb with their sibling. Not realizing how deep in thought she was, she bumped into someone. Immediately her eyes focused on the victim. "I'm so terribly sorry. I do this all the time, stare off into space and bam," she said hitting her hands together to emphasis the onomatopoeia. The corners of her lips upturned into a kind smile. Her eyes squinted slightly as she had a feeling in the pit of her stomach that she should know who she was. Silas mentions so many professor friends she gets confused having only met few. "Ah! I remember now. You are Aurora, astronomy!" She said feeling rather pleased with herself. Really the only way she knew what class she taught was her name related to the subject, but she didn't let that stop the little gloat party that had replaced the darker thoughts rather quickly. Asia was always good at changing over when it involved interacting with other people. There was never a need to push them away, believing that her own pain would hurt others just like it had Silas when their father died. She might have only been four, but she was a lot more aware of her surroundings that most children would have been, having to grow up so quickly.brought to you by stalkmeredneck of caution 2.0

We should feed our jewelry to the sea
If all our life is but a dream
Aurora was still very messed up about Ian's death. She felt almost an urge to go and speak with the sit-in Minister, just to offer her condolences to him, but she knew he was a pureblood. Something about his eyes told her that he would not approve of a filthy halfblood offering her grief about the loss of a mutual friend. So, just like in every other situation that caused her great pain, she kept quiet about it. She could deal with the loss of Ian on her own. Well, perhaps dealing with it was not the right saying. She never really dealt with the murder of her family, choosing to stuff it down deep inside of her and allow it to take root, allowing it to form thorny tendrils around her heart. But, this was her burden. She carried it with her everyday of her life because she would see it as a terrible insult not to remember them in this way. She knew that Michael Boone chose to shove all of the negativity away and Aurora respected him for that. She even knew that Silas was much like her, constantly reminded of the horrors of his past through nightmares and random memories.
With a sigh, she made her way out of her classroom, where she had found herself staring at the same paper a student had written. She could not grade anything right now. She was too far gone in her mind to really focus on anything. She always had the belief that she would rather give papers back later than expected than to hand them to the students when they were only read with a semi-conscious brain. She wanted to give them the best feedback she could and she often allowed students to rewrite their papers if they were rather horrible and often if she simply thought they had good ideas but she wanted them to go into more depth. She usually required a roughdraft before final papers so that she could help them really determine what they would be discussing. But, at the moment, she couldn't get through these papers. They were written by first years and most of them were terrible. She knew it was because they were young and still had a lot to learn, but she did not have the patience nor the desire to discern their meanings at the moment.
Having allowed her mind to drift for a few moments, Aurora suddenly came back to herself for wherever she was caused a chill to shake down her spine. She stopped, her deep green eyes looking around. Sixth floor. She supposed her feet were leading her to her quarters, but she realized she would need to go get all of those papers to grade before she found solace in her living area. Shrugging, she swiveled back around and turned a corner, running straight into someone. Affronted, Aurora backed away, hating to be touched in any means. It wasn't something she really understood about herself, but it was something that made her really uncomfortable. Perhaps it was because she had shut herself down emotionally from people, only absorbing her own pain and despair. Affection and sympathy were emotions she did not want to familiarize herself with. Straightening herself, she looked at the person who had run into her and registered Asasia Kettleburn, Silas's twin sister. She was very beautiful and very cheerful. Aurora wasn't sure if it was remarkable or annoying that she was so optimistic and lighthearted.
Offering her a curt nod, she said, "It is quite alright. All is forgiven, I can assure you." She paused for a moment, watching the other woman curiously. How could she be so happy when she had so much pain in her past? Silas was not exactly a down in the dumps sort of person, but he was never this cheerful. He was much like Aurora with a similar somber nature, despite the fact that he could joke around on occasions. Perhaps this smile meant nothing. Aurora looked at her eyes and decided that Asasia was a very good liar. No one could go through that much tragedy and still behave in a normal manner without having agony at all times. It was impossible. Completely illogical. Besides, despite the fact that her smile seemed to light up her face, it did not quite reach her eyes. She had studied smiles for quite a long time, for she was trying to find out how she could allow one to form across her own lips so easily. Perhaps she simply did not have the strength to fake it. If anything, Aurora was never someone to hide who she really was. She had always been a rather serious sort of girl with many moments of fun, but she did not see anything as light and cheery in any way these days. But, back to smiling. She could tell when someone was faking it because she had watched people for so long when they smiled. Those that forced it could grin all day long and it would still not reach their eyes. Aurora couldn't explain it. It was just something she noticed.
She blinked when Asasia clapped her hands together to make her point more clearly. Choosing to remain expressionless, as was her usual habit, she racked her brain for the nickname Silas used with her. What was it again? Oh, yes. Asia. With a smirk, she said, "Correct. And you are Asasia, or otherwise known as Asia. A healer." She stopped for another moment and then couldn't help but say, "Tell me, is it fascinating working with magical medicine and the like? I have always found it interesting, but my heart lies with the stars." It may have sounded rather romantic and passionate had anyone else spoken such a thing, but Aurora's voice had been monotonous and bored for many years now. Sometimes, there was a glint of something in her green eyes, but it never lasted for very long. At this moment, however, something glimmered there before fading back into the sea of green, disappearing as if it had never existed. She was not keen on anything that had to do with relationships, but anything that required learning something new or foreign to her, she was always fascinated. Learning was her favorite thing to do and she could never hide a tinge of excitement for things like that. She would not apologize for asking so personal, or it was rather personal to her, a question. She was not too keen on social cues, despite her ability to recognize facial expressions. Conversations were not her forte and she could only hope that she would not offend the sister of one her very good friends.
