After the end of her History of Magic class, Alecto carefully slipped out into the corridors and made her way up to the seventh floor. God, had her day ever been boring. She could not, for the life of her, figure out why professors felt the need to drone on and on about the same topic for nearly an hour straight. If she had to teach a class, Alecto would at least attempt to make it a little more interesting. Then again, she could never see herself as a professor. It would be too monotonous. Besides, Alecto was just about to graduate from school. Why on Earth would she want to go back? The only career option that interested her at the moment was one of a Death Eater. It seemed exciting and would provide her with an outlet to associate with people similar to her. Plus, she would be able to help rid the world of mudbloods. That itself would be rewarding. If she really needed a day job, perhaps the Ministry would be interesting enough. There were plenty of departments to choose from and a job there would certainly cover up for her illegal past times. <p>

Enough thinking about the future, though. Today wasn’t the right time for such things. With any luck, she would have some fun with her friend Katherine soon to make up for how uneventful the day had been so far. Finally reaching the correct hallway, Alecto cast a glance from side to side behind her- hoping no professors were nearby. It would ruin everything if she were to get caught for being out of class. She would have to explain herself and hope that the adult would let it slide. Either way, she would have to sit through two more lessons before being able to come back. And by that point, someone else might have stolen her idea. When it seemed like Alecto was alone, she closed her eyes. Please help me escape from this terribly boring day. After a moment, she raised her eyelids and saw a dark brown door standing before her. Quietly, she turned the knob and slipped inside. A brief glance around her surroundings revealed that this was the room where everyone hid the things they did not wish to be found. This was exactly what Alecto wanted. No one would be able to find her. With any luck, she would also be able to find an ample supply of firewhiskey- assuming that those Slytherins gossiping about it earlier that morning had not been wrong.<p>

Deciding that she had nothing better to do while waiting for Kate, Alecto decided to go looking for the alcohol. From what she remembered, it was supposed to be hidden in a cabinet in the back right corner of the room. Of course, the hint didn’t help much. The room was filled wall to wall with items that were long and forgotten to their previous owners. As Alecto made her way to the back, she passed a variety of random items- text books, dresses, a clown doll, and even what looked like a tiara. Merlin only knew what the motives behind hiding these objects were. To Alecto, most of it looked like trash. A lot of it probably was worthless. Though, it must have been important to somebody, even if for a stupid reason. Suddenly, something to her left moved, causing a small box to slide off of the top of a pile and bang to the ground. She jumped at the noise, but quickly laughed at herself for being so easily scared. Obviously Alecto was alone, until her friend showed up. But, there were probably a few creatures also inhabiting the room. In Hogwarts, one never knew quite what they could find in any given location. Small little animals were common and usually nothing to fear.<P>

Finally, Alecto reached the back corner of the Room of Requirement. “How in the hell am I supposed to find this?” She asked herself, overwhelmed by the mass amount of objects surrounding her. She slowly looked around for a cabinet. There was not just one, but quite a few lining the area. Alecto stepped forward and opened the one closest to her. The door creaked, but swung out to reveal an inside layered with dust. The only thing that this one held was a few feathers and a scroll of paper. She slammed it shut and heaved a sigh. This might take longer than planned. Hopefully Kate would arrive soon and help with the search. There had to be something worthy of drinking lying around somewhere. If not firewhiskey, Alecto was sure that there was more alcohol lying around nearby. The adventure was finding it.

Why professors deemed it to be useful to drone on was beyond her. There was only so much she could stand on hearing a man go on an on about the History of Magic. It was long enough that many books had been written about it and she partially wondered why she had even signed up for the class to begin with. Perhaps to fill up some time. To give herself some knowledge before she became what every other Pureblood witch would become. A wife who simply sat at home, waiting for their husband to show up and make sure that dinner was prepared. Or rather, when the house elf would prepare the supper. She knew what her life was destined to be and had accepted it. Not without attempting to fight it but of course, that was typical Kate. Never really following orders. Her father was pulling his hair out at the behaviour she was showing and yet she truly didn't care what he thought. She was in her final year and he had screwed her. Royally. She had trusted him to choose wisely and he had just throw her to the dogs like she meant nothing. Frustrated wasn't the half of it. She was angry. Furious even. She wanted to punch and kick and scream but she knew she couldn't. If word went out she had done that she would be in the shit hole.
<p>
As she picked up her books, seeing Alecto leave before her, she shoved her books into the bag, despite the fact they were heavy beyond all reason and began to dig into her shoulder blade. She made her way out of the class room as she felt her heart beat fast against her chest. She had to sneak into the Room of Requirement without anyone taking notice of her. This would be an interest feat if anything. She had snuck in a few times when parties had gotten out of hand in the common room. It was a magic room after all and it seemed to fit everyone that was needed. It was a room full of whatever one required after all. She often wondered why people even bothered to leave the place. It could feed and hold as many people as they wanted and the professors didn't seem to even know of it's existence. Which was odd considering she was sure half of them attended Hogwarts before becoming teachers in the first place. She always found it odd that they got away with whatever they did. Always given a second chance and she had seen a few students sneak into the Forbidden Forest knowing full well it was completely out of bounds to all students. Though of course, she didn't know many students who followed the rules completely aside from the occasional prefect and even then, they weren't goody goody.
<P>
Staring at the blank wall ahead of her, she glanced over her shoulder to make sure she wasn't being followed before looking back at the wall once more. She knew she would have to focus and think of a room that Alecto would be in. Letting out a deep breath, she thought of a room in which she would find Alecto and then opened ehr eyes. Seeing the large door in front of her, she looked around once more before stepping forward and opening the door. She quickly moved inside, closing it behind her as she gave a small cough, seeing that the room was surrounded by old pieces of furniture and dust. God she hated the dust. It tickled her nose and caused her to sneeze profusely after all. She kept a look out for her friend, perhaps having gone to the wrong room accidentally. It had happened on those rare occasions where she had had her thoughts interrupted when she was thinking about something else. Moving away from the door, she walked forward, dropping her bag with a soft thud as she occasionally heard something scurry around her feet causing her to grimace. She hated rodants and this was no exception. "Gross." She murmured under her breath as she fanned her fan when she felt her nose become itchy. Stupid dust! Why couldn't she have thought of a place which was clean? Why here? "Alecto?" She called out, hearing her voice echo throughout the walls as she frowned a little. She tucked a lock of her blonde hair behind her ear as she continued to keep walking before the dark haired girl came into view looking around. So clearly she didn't have said firewhiskey in hand. "I'm going to assume you can't find the firewhiskey?" She asked her curiously, looking the girl over as she crossed her arms now, leaning against an old bookshelf that was next to her. "Couldn't you have thought of a room that just had firewhiskey in it? Maybe something that didn't feel like we are in my grandmother's old cat filled house?"

Alecto let a sigh escape her lips. Life would be easier if things were just always handed directly to you. In this instance, especially. Knowing Kate, she would be impatient and expect to find the firewhiskey right away. And why should she not? In the notes they had exchanged during class, it sounded as if it would be an easy find. Alecto had half expected to not have any troubles, but unfortunately, this was not going quite as planned. If only the room were not so damn big- it would be much easier to find things. Next time, she would have to just bring her own alcohol. It wasn't that hard to smuggle into the castle and would make things far less complicated. Alecto opened another dusty cabinet (only to find it empty) when she heard her name being called from behind. Instinctively, she turned around and at first saw no one. After a moment though, her friend appeared in the distance. "Took you long enough," Alecto greeted teasingly. Actually, Katherine had only been a minute or two later than her. But, small details of that nature were too minor to matter. Since she had beat rightfully beat her to the Room of Requirement, it was worth pointing out. Just for some friendly banter, really.<p>

Of course, the first thing that Katherine inquired about was the firewhiskey. That was to be expected. "No, but I'll get to it soon." Alecto opened another storage container, but to no luck. Oh well, they would find it eventually. This still beat being in class. Even if there was no chance of being caught at this point, the exhilaration of breaking the rules flooded through her veins. It was not as if acting out was anything new for Alecto, but she still enjoyed the adrenaline that doing something she was not supposed to gave her. It reminded her that in the end, she was the one in control of her destiny. No matter how much other people (her mother, in particular) wanted to control or make decisions for her, in the end, it was still Alecto's life to live or screw up. And she was sure as hell going to live it right, no matter what everyone else said. Perhaps that was why she liked ignoring rules so much. Besides that, it was often just fun. If you listened to what everyone told you all of the time, life would be quite boring.<p>

Alecto glanced up and watched her blonde friend lean against a book shelf, obviously not looking thrilled. From the sounds of it, Katherine wanted the room to take on a much different appearance. Although Alecto wouldn't admit it, she actually liked the old, dusty aspect of this location. It was comforting to sit in the same area that so many great witches and wizards before her had also stepped through. The room held bundles of evidence of the generations before her. Who knew what evil plots or romantic flings had occurred in this very place years ago- even before they had been alive. In Alecto's opinion, it was interesting. The room may not smell the best, but it held more secrets than somewhere more luxurious would. Still, she could not admit this. People knew Alecto as the popular, social butterfly. She was sometimes cold-hearted, sometimes flirtatious, but never sentimental. Who only knew what people would think if they knew that she appreciated some ancient things. It was not a bad quality really, just... too deep down in her personality than she was willing to reveal to just anyone- even if she was close to Kate. So instead, she simply shrugged and replied with, "It was the first thing that came to my mind."<p>

Looking away, Alecto started canvassing through more objects in search of the firewhiskey. She opened one final nearby cabinet and to her delight saw a full bottle surrounded by tall glasses. She took it out and grabbed two of glasses, before setting them on a nearby table. "Doesn't matter now, I found it!" She announced with a smile. Picking up the bottle again, Alecto unscrewed the cap and filled both glasses nearly to the rim. She handed one to Kate before taking the second for herself. Gosh, after this week she could certainly use some alcohol to relax. She had been on edge lately (for no apparent reason) and it would be nice to finally have something to help her let loose and calm down. Even better, she could spend some time with her friend. She lifted the glass into the air and locked eyes with Katherine. "Here's to... a much better conclusion to a boring day."

She was truly curious as to why the girl had decided on this place as the place they would be drinking in. She had never known the girl to ever be sentimental and whatever was in this room was sentimental to someone in Hogwarts. People stored things in here from time to time and clearly it had over accumulated over time. She had wondered why people had decided to leave things here. Were they hoping down the line they would come by and pick it up? Merlin knows what they were thinking as she looked around before finding her friend looking intently for what could only be something that was alcoholic. She did have to hand it to her friend that this was a spur of the moment thought to skip class to have a drink or two, but did she really think this would be the first place to get alcohol? Maybe think of a bar or a mini fridge would do. Then again when you're thinking on the spot and a teacher could appear at any time, the best room is usually the first thing that pops into your head. Clearly this was to be the place. She had been here a few times with her brother in tow. It had been a nice place to simply sit down and talk to him in private without having someone interrupting every two seconds. The only thing that bothered her was the constant sneezing fits she got from the amount of dust that collected on everything.
<p>
She watched her curiously leaning against the nearby broken bookshelf as she looked over at her nails as if slightly bored. She wasn't willing to go on a search for alcohol. What if she broke a nail? "Are you even sure there is alcohol in this dusty place? I mean.. if anything it might be someone's piss for all we know." She mused for a moment, thinking it over. What if someone got stuck in here and the only way they could have relieved themselves was in a nearby bottle? She scrunched up her nose in distaste as she felt a sneeze coming on as she fanned her face suddenly, sneezing as she watched a small cloud of dust fly into the air. She pressed her lips together, rubbing at her nose as she leaned off the bookshelf, brushing down her Ravenclaw robes and sighed softly. "Last time I was in here was when my brother and I needed to talk. It was the first thing that came to his mind too." She mused, looking around at her familiar settings. She scratched at her arm as she chewed on her lower lip, lost in thought for a brief moment. Her brother and her had come here when they talked about their father and their betrothals. Or rather her betrothal and her distaste for it.
<p>
She felt her friends eyes watching her closely as she snapped out of her thoughts, raising an eyebrow. "You don't expect me to help search do you? I might catch something." She muttered now, crossing her arms to show that touching anything unless it was definitely a bottle of firewhiskey wasn't going to happen anytime soon. "Next time we decide to do this, I get to be the one who thinks of a room. A nice quiet room with a warm fire and a fresh bottle of firewhiskey." She smiled at the thought, looking around to see the harsh reality around her. She was surrounded by possibly a hundred years of other people's old crap that they didn't want. Probably put in here so they never had to deal with it again. She swore she saw an old toothbrush laying around here somewhere and someone's underwear. She didn't want to think what had gone on in this room. Probably a lot of things she didn't want to know about in all honesty. Nothing she wanted to picture anyhow. "I wonder how old this room is." She said, more to herself than she did to her friend. "Considering half the things in here look so old they are starting to rot." She said, flicking the old bookshelf as she watched a few clouds of dust fly in the air again.
<P>
Her voice sparked her attention again as her brown eyes flickered to her dark haired friend before she smiled brightly. She had found some. Merlin's beard she took her time. "Hope it's not Goblin piss." SHe muttered as she was handed a glass and looked it over, briefly sniffing it as she smelt the oh so familiar smell of firewhiskey. She missed the way it gently burned the back of your thought (but in a pleasant way of course). "We're safe." Not that she thought Alecto cared or not as she cheersed them before lifting up her glass as she gently clicked it against hers. "Agreed. Cheers." She said with a grin before taking a long sip of the burning liquid as she felt it gently slid down her throat as she sighed contently. "It tastes so much better with age."

Alecto locked her eyes upon those of Katherine as her friend complained about the room she had chosen. She kind of laughed to herself at the thought of finding a bottle full of someone else’s piss. Would anyone ever be desperate enough to urinate in a bottle, if they could not leave the room? Alecto would not put it past them. There were definitely enough stupid students at Hogwarts… Especially the young mudbloods. Whenever Alecto was in the Great Hall, she would either hear or see them make some idiotic decision. Just the other day a Gryffindor had blown up his apple while he was at the table. Honestly, how much effort was it to just eat the thing? In Alecto’s mind, that was proof enough as to why the muggleborns should be sent away. If they could not think enough to make even the smallest of decisions, why should they be trusted with magic that was not even theirs to begin with?<p>

”I’ve been in here a few times,” Alecto replied, thinking back to those old moments when she had needed a room like this. She had learned about the Room of Requirement early on in her time at Hogwarts and had been brought to this very part of it in her second year. Ever since, she always found some reason to visit it every now and then. ”I do believe that the last time I entered was with a boy, a few months ago,” She shrugged as the words fell out of her mouth and was brought back to that night. They had both had a little bit of alcohol and wanted to go somewhere a bit more private. It was never all that hard to find somewhere abandoned in Hogwarts or out on its grounds, but he had thought of this room and Alecto had gladly followed. What happened afterwards was a blur, but she was sure it had not been particularly innocent. Why should it be? Playing nice was never fun. And with guys, innocence would get you nowhere. At least not with the types of boys Alecto spent time with. Maybe those of other houses and backgrounds were different, but somehow, she doubted it.<p>

Alecto shook the memory away and cast a glance back at her friend. When Katherine had first entered, she was obviously displeased with the choice of room. But now that alcohol had been found, all had seemed forgiven. ”See? This old stuff is so much better than the fresh firewhiskey you would have thought of.” Alecto flashed Kate a teasing smile, though she knew that she was right. The more alcohol aged, the better it tasted. This firewhiskey did not seem to be an exception.”Plus, searching around is always a little bit more fun.” Allie wasn’t particularly fond of getting dirty, but she never did mind exploring old places. While having things handed to you was nice, sometimes getting them on your own was more interesting. And other times it was too much work. But today, Alecto was in a different mood. She could not put her finger on what was off, but she felt like doing something different than her normal routine. This had to be a start, right? Searching around an aged, dusty room was definitely unusual for the Slytherin. Though, it did not satisfy the bizarre, unsettled feeling in the pit of her stomach. Maybe the firewhiskey would help. With that thought, Alecto tilted her head back and drained half of the glass.<p>

The drink burned her throat and she breathed a content sigh. Soon enough, the alcohol would kick in and she would feel better. If not, there was plenty more in the almost full bottle that sat between them. What better was there to do on a Friday afternoon than skip class with your friend and get tipsy on aged firewhiskey? Alecto could not think of anything that could rival it. ”So, how has your week been going, love?” Alecto’s brown eyes flicked to Kate’s again. Surely there was a new story about her husband to be. In the short notes that they had exchanged in class, Kate seemed annoyed with him.
