Something had gone wrong tonight. She had wanted to find her sister but figured, no knew, she would be to busy to deal with the questions of a seventeen year old. After all, the young woman seemed to have moved quickly through the ranks and found herself as the new Minister's personal secretary. Fallon Rookwood found it odd even though she did support her but deep down she knew it had something to do with the Death Eaters. Would there ever be in all of her years someone neutral in that office? It always went to the direct hardcore and there never seemed to be a happy medium. Maybe someday off in the distant future. She never really liked these events and found herself more often than not in the back of the room stifling her laughter with a table cloth at all of their antics and silly remarks. She most likely looked insane but it was neither there nor here and besides one only had to keep up appearances not mentality.
<br><br>
However, something had been in the air tonight that made everyone want to become hormonal teenagers all of the sudden. Even the acting minister had escaped with some young woman in toe. She surpassed the laughter at how ridiculous the professor were behaving and in the corner of the room just had the best view of the full house. It had not been until an hour in that she realized something had effected her also. What the bloody hell had been wrong with her? Fallon Rookwood often never spilled any truth unless it worked in her favor and now each question that some one asked had her answers laced with honesty. As if it were some poison her body had been begging to rid itself of. It started with a single drink, in which she had never done, and ended with several when her mother came over to the table to insist she socialize.
<br><br>
Normally she would agree and follow where ever her mother went like a dog on a short leash but instead through gritted teeth she spoke, "With who? All of these people are acting like goons. Even your respectable pure blood friends are acting rather idiotic. No, I am having a good time sitting back here and watching it all unfold. Also, what is up with you and that man? Honestly, mother if you going to start acting like a skank can you do it in private?" Word vomit. Fallon immediately bit her lip wishing to have taken it all back. When did she become this girl, never had she spoke back to her, after all her only card in this game of life had been maintaining the ability to be feeble and docile not strong willed and opinionated. It had been her advantage when she manipulated her father into letting her wait to be betrothed or allowing her to pick her own. Her mother looked at her, mouth open, wide blue eyes, and then quickly changed her features to a death glare (a look she had seen all to well given to her other siblings). "If you ever talk to me like that again, merlin help you, because you will be in the grave beside your father."
<br><br>
Fallon immediately got up, trying to but unsuccessfully to hold her tongue, "I would love to see that. Though, I doubt you could." The seventeen year old walked away in a sort of mixed emotions. On one hand it finally felt nice to stand up for herself and on another hand she had been carried away with her antics. The young girl had been, since forever, in a state of in between. To be loyal to her family and obey or to get away from it all. For some, like Sirius, the choice seemed easy to make (or so she thought) but to her this lifestyle had been all she knew, all she had been raised upon. Beliefs and traditions where inevitably at the core of her and to change one's core was a process the young Rookwood had not been ready to take on. She bypassed the young couple making out and ended up somewhere away from her mother. Alcohol and truth were an awful combination.
