Sirius wasn’t one hundred percent sure about having a party at the Ministry, it seemed all too…fishy, not to mention even if he wanted to pull off some sort of prank he couldn’t. After all it was the Ministry and security in this place was tighter than…well it was rather tight so he had to push all amazing ideas to the side. He had approached James a few times with a few written ideas but in the end they had agreed how complicated it would be. The magic wouldn’t, just making sure they didn’t get caught. Also their Head of House had personally made it her duty to call them out in Transfigurations to remind them to be on their best behavior. Sometimes that was rather hard for Sirius to really do. He was a rebel after all, he had to wave his rebel flag and give that rebel yell every now and again. But he managed to shape up but on his nice casually robes and attended. It wasn’t mandatory but he was restless and he needed to get out of the castle, it was as simple as that for the boy. He needed to get off the grounds, he could always leave the castle to sit outside but to actually be in London during the school year, what a treat.
<br><br>
Still with the invite made by Justin Pritchard he felt his idea was a little offhand. He should have at least put an age restriction on his invitations to the school. 5th year and up maybe? Sirius wasn’t as foolish as a lot of people thought him to be, he read the Prophet from time to time, granted it was like reading a fictional book sometimes. You could never fully believe the stories they published but he knew a great deal about the man who was trying to seal the deal and becoming the Minister. But oh well, this wasn’t his party and he wasn’t trying to win the hearts of everyone. But if it was his party he would have done away the salad. He wasn’t a big vegetable eater but he didn’t trust the sweets. You can’t really ruin salad but apparently they had found a way. It wasn’t hard to through one together with random foliage and throw dressing on it, honestly. He didn’t even finish it he left it on a table and wandered off to find the bathroom to scrape his mouth clean. He couldn’t help but let his true colors shine a bit. There would always be that ‘little prince’ inside of him. He’d always be able to push aside where he had come from but he would never forget. Sometimes he wished he could. But he was reminded far to often so it was impossible really.
<br><br>
He did however manage to find the bathroom which wasn’t actually to hard to find. It wasn’t like he came to the Ministry for parties every weekend so how would he know where to do and no one was directing him. Even when he had asked they had shrugged their shoulders and said they didn’t know. This party was rather dull thus far. A prank would have really spiced this thing up a bit. Or maybe just charming the salad bowls to toss their salad at people who passed by would be a good enough of a laugh for him at this point. He did wonder if this was going to be what won Justin P. the Ministry spot. He doubted it of course, it only meant he was good at hosting a party for minors and that’s about it. He pushed the bathroom door open and dusted his hands off on his pants and adjusted his robes. He should just tell people not to eat the salad because he was foul, he was sure it was just the dressing though. Italian would have been the way to go, who didn’t like Italian dressing?
<br><br>
He started to make his way back to the party when he felt his laces slap against his leg. He rolled his eyes. Honestly. Could be anymore of a mess today? He bent down and tied up his shoe securely this time and stood back up busting his knee of to make sure he was still decent enough. He was after all wearing all black minus the silver trim on his robes. The perks of having a bit of money you could afford nice robes. Finally he was making his way back to the party when he ran smack into someone. He cursed under his breath as he stepped back. “Merlin, sorry.” He muttered as he looked up to see just who he had ran face first into. His head tipped to the side in his typical dog like fashion and his pupils dilated as he realized just who the girl was.

<center><div style="width:400px; text-align:justify; line-height:90%;">

Any excuse to get out of Hogwarts and enjoy a break from the mundane routine of school was legitimate in Celestina's book which was why she hadn't protested attending this little party at the Ministry. It was being thrown by some old guy, Justin Pritchard, who apparently was the Minister of Magic. Tina wasn't really that aware of what went on outside of her own mind or the confines of Hogwarts castle. She didn't know who was the Minister of Magic was or what his stance was on the war or on broom regulations or whatever it was that Ministers of Magic were supposed to have opinions on. In a few short months she would be leaving Hogwarts to make her way on her own in the world but that didn't mean that she had decided to develop an interest in politics. The only reason she was really here was because there was free food, free booze, and she got to dress up in an awesome dress. Tina wasn't always your typical girl but she certainly did like to dress up and feel pretty. She had worn her hair down rather than in a fancy updo but had put on a crystal headdress, more like a little crown that circled her head and passed over her forehead. Kind of a quirky touch but Tina thought it looked ethereal and awesome.
<br><br>
Avoiding the punch and the salad appetizer, Tina settled on bread and a glass of champagne instead. For some reason tonight she was feeling sophisticated and had decided that champagne was something that sophisticated Tina would drink. It was bubbly and fun and tickled her nose when she lifted the fluted glass up to her lips. It was also sweet like juice and hardly even tasted like alcohol at all. As the liquid slid down her throat she thought that she could just drink this all night. Get to a good buzzed feeling and then find someone to dance with. Or maybe the band would need some vocal accompaniment and she would take over on the stage and sing a song for everyone. She had a new little thing she was working on and it was just perfect for a party, especially one in February, the month of love. Tina could only dream though, one day she would be hired to sing at events like this. Fancy soirees thrown by the Ministry. They would pay her to entertain them.
<br><br>
The party started to unfold and Tina began to realize that people were acting a bit crazy. She watched with amusement and horror as Kirley professed his love to the Greengrass girl. Charlotte? Clearly he had had a little too much to drink already but she didn't want to interfere because at least he seemed happy. He hadn't really been himself since the news had been delivered that his father had been killed. Let him have tonight to act ridiculous and it was actually a little funny to watch Charlotte's reactions. Kirley wasn't the only one who was acting odd though and Tina watched as people ran around after one another, there was at least one couple already pinned up against the wall making out furiously as if their lives' depended on it. Strange. You would have thought that the Minister of Magic's party would have been more classy than this but it was turning out to just be like another party at Hogwarts with a bunch of horny teenagers running around. Even the adults were acting that way. Tina could have sworn she had seen Professor Harris grab Professor Sparks' ass. Insane.
<br><br>
Tina was just enjoying the show when suddenly a very solid object ran straight into her and caused her to slop her champagne down onto the ground. Luckily it missed her dress although she did get a little on the toes of her shoes. The person muttered their apologies and she turned her head to see that it was Sirius Black. Better than some random ass Slytherin or some boring Ministry worker. "Don't worry about." She said cheerfully. "This party is wild, yeah? I think I just a couple of professors making out? I think everyone had a little too much of the free booze." Even as she said she lifted her glass to her lips and finished off the rest of her champagne. "You look really snazzy by the way. Those robes are awesome." Tina reached out and ran a hand down the lapel of his dress robes admiring the silver trim. Sirius really did clean up nicely.

Celestina. He figured she would be here but he didn’t think that she would run into him like this, well maybe but not right away. There was a very small history between her and Sirius, it was nothing serious of course and nothing more than a friendship. He had had a crush on her since…well he couldn’t even remember. Maybe since he’s known her. She was sadly a Seventh Year Ravenclaw and would be leaving after this year but it wasn’t that bad. They’d still write each other he was sure of it. Who else was going to send her exploding Chocolate Frogs and write to her about how he couldn’t sleep and just needed someone to talk to? He really did like the girl. It became more apparent though as the years went on. She’s always randomly run into him in passing or in the corridors just to say hi. It didn’t help that she was on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team either but they had a friendly rivalry really, though she was certain Ravenclaw was going to take the cup these year, she was full of it. Gryffindor was going to take the cup and that was the end of that. He did like however that when they weren’t play for each other they were certainly cheering each other on. Sirius usually made a habit of making sure to be in the center of the opposing teams cheer section painted blue and black with her number on his chest, usually making bird calls because he had no shame in making a fool of himself.
<br><br>
He was barely listening to her as she started to speak. He had see whatever sparkly drink she was drinking tip out of his glass but didn’t comment on it. Her hair was down, it was rarely down. He wished it was up, she had amazing shoulders. He blinked a few times. He was thinking way to hard about her. But he couldn’t help it. He felt so overrun with emotions. She touched him. More than touched him, she ran her hand down the front of his robes. He could feel his heart pounding like a drum in his ears. What was going on? He opened his mouth to say something, anything but nothing came out so he closed it. That was odd. He knitted his brows together. Oh Merlin she was so pretty. That was all he could suddenly think about. How beautiful her hair looked, how her crystal headpiece just made her shine. His eyes traveled down her body, her dress was so fitting and hugged her in all of the right places, even her shoes were lovely. He looked back up to her, his eyes wide as if he had just gotten caught stealing. “You look gorgeous.” He blurted out. She did he wasn’t joking. He reached out and touched the material of her dress as if he was experiencing something brand new like a child. “That’s really soft.” He said more to himself before he pulled his quickly. “Sorry, I just…really wanted to touch your dress.” He said.
<br><br>
He was sure he looked like an idiot but he didn’t care, he never did well sometimes he did when it came to her. She made him this mushy mess and now he was touching her! Feeling the material of her dress like some sort of…pervert! He glanced around the large room trying to turn his attention away from her for a second, she had said something about how crazy the party was. “Oh yeah it’s really crazy, look at everyone.” He said nodding a bit. He couldn’t really see past his nose right now though. He wasn’t drunk, no he was sober. He hadn’t even had anything to drink yet just that stupid terrible salad! He looked back at her and looked away quickly his shoes seemed interesting enough. He closed his eyes for a moment. He was sure she was questioning him, thinking how crazy he really was. After all crazy ran in his family. “I’m not crazy you know.” He told her just so she wouldn’t think he was or anything. He sighed. He felt good to get that off his chest. He pushed back the loose strands of hair that had slipped from his short ponytail. He wasn’t to look a little nice after all and hair like his, it needed to be tamed a little. He hoped James had used the comb he left for him in the bathroom.
<br><br>
“Um…Celetina.” He started. He wasn’t sure where he was going with this. But he needed to just suddenly tell her how he was feeling. He’s never told a girl he loved them, ever, never! Not even his own mother! Well it was hard to love something that held bat like qualities and that screeched like a shrill banshee. He took a deep breath and found his Gryffindor courage and took her hand. “I know that we’ve only known each other for five years and only really started getting on for two really but,” He took another deep breath. “I just wanted to tell you that…I love you. I know it’s crazy and out of the blue but I do.” He said. He was expecting her to say it back of course. He wouldn’t just put his heart out there on his perfectly tailored sleeve to be rejected by his one true love. He was smarter than that.

Tina watched as Sirius stood there and stared at her, his eyes impossibly wide as if he was having trouble seeing her properly. And his mouth kept gaping open and closed like a fish out of water and she was a little bit afraid that maybe someone had jinxed him. This was not usual behavior for Sirius who was usually so cool and contained, always with a cocky smile planted on his face. His ego was so large that he never had those moments of uncertainty that the rest of the world suffered from and he certainly didn't stand around gaping like an idiot. Tina didn't flatter herself into thinking that she could really drop the jaw of Sirius Black. He was popular and handsome, the girls in her dorm were always giggling on about him. Yes, this must be a jinx. Or maybe a joke. Maybe he was pulling her leg. You never knew with him. Then he blurted out that he thought she was gorgeous and she had to smile at that, every girl liked to be told that she was gorgeous. Especially since she had spent hours picking out her dress and making sure she looked lovely for this event. Tina chose to assume that he was not joking around with her, mostly because he seemed so earnest. "Thank you!" She said enthusiastically feeling very happy now with her choice of dress.
<br><br>
Everything seemed to be normal until Sirius reached out and touched the skirt of her dress. Tina watched with bewilderment as he felt the fabric of her dress and commented on how soft it was. She wasn't really sure how she should react to that. Was he high? Apparently he had finally learned how to smoke the joint correctly. Last time all he had done was complain about how he wasn't feeling anything. "I can't believe you smoked without me!" That really had to be the only logical explanation for this strange behavior. The gaping and the lack of focus, reaching out to touch her dress in such an inappropriate fashion. Tina giggled slightly when he pulled his hand away. "Don't worry about it. I know how that is." She spent a lot of time smoking, more than she should probably, and she often was overtaken by strange urges to touch things. Tapestries and portraits, one time she had rubbed her hands all over a suit of armor. Things just felt different when you were in an altered state of mind. "So you finally figured out how long to hold the smoke in? Proud of you." She reached out and patted his shoulder.
<br><br>
Her eyebrows shut up when Sirius felt the need to emphasize that he wasn't crazy. Yeah, she knew that. Well maybe she knew that. He was acting a little bit crazy right now. Apparently he hadn't yet figured out what his tolerance was. It seemed that no one at this party had figured out their tolerance. Past Sirius's shoulder she swore that she could see Slughorn on his knees in front of McGonagall. And was he singing a song? What the hell? Not to mention the whole thing with Kirley and Lottie. Something was obviously going on and Tina was a little miffed that she wasn't a part of it. She felt left out because she was perfectly sober while everyone else seemed to be going out of their minds. "Do you think someone spiked the punch?" That seemed like something that a mischievous student would do, someone like Sirius for example. "You didn't do anything, right? Because I am pretty sure this would earn you detention for the rest of your life. Even after Hogwarts you will still have to come back for detentions." Tina enjoyed Sirius's pranks when she wasn't the subject but she also didn't want him to get into serious trouble. Sometimes you just had to know when to not take it too far.
<br><br>
Her eyes wandered around the room watching people's strange behavior until Sirius said her name and she looked back at him. Strange, he seemed almost nervous. But Sirius Black didn't get nervous. Not even when they were out skinny dipping in the lake. She had been the one trying to get into the water before he saw all of her naughty bits. But he had walked all casually nice and slow so that she had gotten quite the eyeful. Nothing could make him nervous. Tina was completely stunned when he took her hand and started talking about how they had only known each other for five years and this stuff. Where the hell was he going with this. "I love you." Oh. Tina had no idea what to say so she just stood there blinking like an idiot for a few moments. "What?" This was so weird. Love? Her and Sirius hadn't even gone on a date or had anything romantic between them. Well...except for the kiss in the lake and that had been casual. Or at least Tina had assumed that Sirius thought it was casual. He wasn't exactly the type to get into legit relationships. "You're funny. But honestly, you could have thought of a better prank." She pulled her hand out of his, slightly annoyed. If he thought this was funny then it wasn't. It was kind of mean. What if she had actually had a crush on him? What if he did this to some poor girl who liked him? It was kind of cruel. "You should stick to exploding chocolate. At least that was funny."

He wasn’t sure how he felt right now; it was all foggy inside of his head. He’s never felt like this before. Not even when he was drunk. He at least could form proper sentences and make jokes all while dancing around to that music Remus played. He honestly had no clue what was going on upstairs and it was sort of driving him crazy already. At least she liked him compliment. She was positively stunning and he felt the need to just tell her. It wasn’t everyday Sirius told a girl she was beautiful and mean it of course. He sort of wished he didn’t have this reputation but he liked the popularity and he liked that other girls giggled in the halls when he walked by and that some of the blokes were jealous of him for no real reason just that he was running on pure awesomeness and girls loved him granted he would not, and could not love them back. He only wanted to like or love apparently one girl and that was Tina, Celestina. She had such a unique name he was pretty sure it meant heavenly…though he could be wrong but it should because she was! “You’re welcome.”[/b] He told her smiling and getting over his nerves just a little bit.
<br><br>
He didn’t laugh or anything, he just stared at her confused for a moment as she accused him of smoking without her. He had had a cigarette on his way here but not like…pot or anything, no, no. He was sober. He would never smoke without her really because he didn’t even know where to get it and because he was too nervous to do it on his own, what if he actually got high by himself? What would happen? He still wasn’t sure what being high felt like but apparently according to Tina it was some…awakening experience and everything was just better. He shook his head, the loose strands of her hair moving. He pushed his hair back already annoyed by his hair. “No, I would never do that without you. I’m not even high or anything, I swear to you.” He told her his eyes going wide again. He was serious. He was sure it was going to make it even more strange knowing he wasn’t high and that he had touched her dress. Maybe he should have lied but that would make it worse he was sure. “Nope, I am still clueless about that.” He said honestly. He was always so sure about himself but when it came to certain things he’s never done before he held a little doubt.
<br><br>
He glanced over his shoulder to see where she was looking. His face converted and his eyebrows rose. Merlin. What was going on with Slughorn. Though Sirius never thought he was sane, he didn’t even invite him to joint he Slug Club…if anyone in this school should be in such a club it should be him! Right, he was a worthy member. He glanced around the room finally able to see a little…what was really going on her. Everyone looked…mental! He hoped he didn’t look mental. Nope, no way did he look like these people. He felt normal. This was normal, a simple conversation between friends, though he was hoping that before the night was over they were more than friends…wait yes he was certain that was what he wanted to get out of tonight. He’s never been told no before and he was hoping that Tina would not reject him. He’d feel like a fool if she did. “No. I didn’t do anything. I’m not that stupid to do something here at the Ministry.” He said looking almost offended she had asked if he was behind all of this.

Tina enjoyed Sirius's pranks when she wasn't the subject but she also didn't want him to get into serious trouble. Sometimes you just had to know when to not take it too far.
<br><br>
He knew that he was reaching too far when she didn’t say anything back right away. But he wouldn’t help the way he was feeling! He couldn’t even suppress his emotions right now! It was overwhelming and he didn’t know what to do so he had confessed that he loved her. Everyone else looked crazy out there, scattered around the hall dancing around acting like fools but he refused to look like one of them. He was being normal, this was normal. To tell something you loved them and all. He’s never told anyone that and she should take him seriously when he told her thing but she didn’t seem to think he was being sincere in his confession. His knitted his eyebrows together confused by her rection. She thought he was joking? But he wasn’t! He’s never been so sure of anything in his life. “I’m not pulling a prank, I haven’t pulled a prank since…maybe yesterday but it hardly counts because I only tripped Pete in the corridor.” He told her as she pulled her hand away from his. That was odd. “But I do. I really do.” He said his voice low to show he wasn’t playing around. “I know the only major thing we’ve done is skinny dip in the lake and made out but I know how I feel.” He said patting her heart.

Tina laughed when Sirius swore adamantly that he was not high and that he would never smoke without her. It was a nice sentiment but she couldn't really believe it given the way that he was acting. Feeling the fabric of her dress was just not normal behavior. Sirius might march to the beat of his own drummer but this was just awkward. If he wasn't high then maybe he had just had too much of the free alcohol that was flowing freely at the open bar. She didn't smell any alcohol on his breath but there was no way that he could actually be stone cold sober right now. "Well it seems like you figured it out." Tina was good humored about it at least. Some girls might have gotten offended to have their dress felt up but she was alright with it. She might have gotten more offended if it was someone creepy. But this was Sirius. If the drugs were telling him that he needed to touch her dress then she could roll with it. "Just let the good times roll, Sirius." Tina laughed at her own advice. From her experience it was usually best to just go with whatever you were feeling under the influence rather than fighting it. Sometimes things could get weird but you had to just let it happen.
<br><br>
She was glad that whatever was going on was not the result of misdemeanor on Sirius's part. Honestly, she liked having him around and the last few months of her seventh year would be boring without him. Tina was certain that a prank of such massive proportions at a dinner hosted by the minister would result in expulsion from Hogwarts. "Don't give me that look. You really can't blame me for suspecting you. I mean...you have a bit of a reputation." She raised her eyebrows as if she were reprimanding him but the smile that played on her lips betrayed her. Tina was certain that commenting on his reputation as a troublemaker would be taken as a compliment rather than an insult. Tina had always gotten the sense that Sirius prided himself in his ability to cause utter chaos. In fact, he seemed to take pride in just about everything he did. Even the stupid stuff. Sometime she wondered if all that blind self-assurance came from being a pureblood. Maybe it was just genetic in all of them because they all seemed to strut around thinking they were the greatest thing on this green earth. Even Sirius did that although he would most likely adamantly deny he was anything like the other purebloods.

"Look! Is that Slughorn on his knees in front of McGonagall? I don't think he can even get up! What a lump." Celestina laughed as she watched Slughorn attempting to get into a standing position. Poor McGonagall looked absolutely livid. And a little bit mortified as well. Usually Tina wouldn't laugh so hard at the misfortunes of a professor but McGonagall had snapped at her quite rudely in class the other day and Tina had not appreciated it. So seeing the professor so uncomfortable was quite hilarious. And it wasn't like something truly horrific was happening. Well, that was debatable. Slughorn's singing voice wasn't exactly easy on the ears.
<br><br>
Tina was about to suggest to Sirius that they go get some of the free food that was being served. She had spied some crab cakes earlier that looked delicious. But before she could get a word out Sirius was speaking and insisting that he did really love her. To her complete horror he mentioned the skinny dipping and the fact that they had kissed while bobbing around naked in the water. Tina usually didn't care too much what people thought of her but she also didn't fancy being called a slag. She just preferred not to deal with that. Besides, she had told Sirius that he wasn't supposed to say anything about that. Moving closer to him she placed her hand over his mouth. "Do you want to get us a detention!" She was certain that any professor who heard about their skinny dipping exploits would not be amused. Tina glared at him for a moment before pulling her hand away from his mouth. "And stop with the love thing. Why don't you try to pull that on one of your fan girls. I am sure it would send them into a spiraling mess." Tina knew that there were a lot of girls with crushes on Sirius who would just go crazy if he made this strange confession to them. Well, she was not one of them. She was not a fan girl. She was just way to awesome for that.

she thinks I’m crazy judging by the faces that she’s making
and i think she’s pretty but pretty’s just part of the things
she does that amaze me and she called me sweetheart
I love it when she wakes me when it’s still dark and she
Watches the sun but she’s the only one I have my eyes on

At least he was getting her to laugh. That was important right? She had an attractive laugh. Could a laugh be attractive? Well maybe in this case it could be. Regardless he enjoyed it. Her lit up when she did. He was sure she thought he was a little crazy but he wasn’t drunk, he was sober, perfectly fine truly he was. He let his head fall to the side in that typical dog like fashion as he stared at her. Figured what out? He had stopped listening. “Yeah.” He finally said standing straighter as she laughed again. Merlin. Even the slightly squinty thing her eyes did was cute…cute! Where were these words even coming from? Cute? Puppies, and kittens, and sometimes baby dragons were cute. He didn’t think she would like that he thought her squinty eyes when she laughed was cute. He nodded in the end. “Yeah, let’ them roll…right on, keeping rolling.” He said. With a firm nod a slight hand gesture. He wasn’t sure what she meant by that or why she found it to be funny but if she thought it was, it must have been humorous. Or maybe she was becoming nervous…he was being to weird for her! How was that even possible?
<br><br>
Sirius was well aware of his reputation around the school and how he enjoyed serving detention and all the rumors that followed him. It was like he went out of his way to get into trouble. He didn’t go out of his way…he was just simply trying to make everyone else have an unforgettable school year and a few god laughs around the way. Who wanted to be serious and stiff all the time? Not him. “Well thanks for thinking so highly of me.” He said smirking a little. “I do more than just pull pranks you know.” He informed her pushing his hair back. He might as well let it down, what was the point of holding it back all proper and all. But Sirius was more than just harmless pranks. He was slightly complex as well. He was a good students, academically, and he was sociable. He didn’t think he was making sense anymore, his thoughts were truly blending into one. He was shocked he just didn’t blurt out a slew of words that weren’t meaningful.

<br><br>
He glanced over his shoulder to wear she was looking. Oh Merlin. Slughorn was a dolt. He looked so foolish trying to pull himself up from his knees. He arched a brow and looked back at Celestina, oh she was laughing again, which caused him to laugh as well. He wasn’t going to say anything poetic about how she sounded of course because no words would be able to describe it without sounding so mushy! But it was nice and infectious. “The poor sod look at ‘em. I hope he makes it off the ground before the night is over.” He said lightening up a bit. He felt so uptight and consumed by mushy thoughts. He needed to pull himself together. He didn’t want to look like old Slughorn in front of Tina. As far as he knew, she thought he was cool, at least cool to hang out with.
<br><br>

His eyes grew wide as she placed her hand over his mouth and moved closer. He didn’t understand why she was so upset about mentioning their time in the lake. He thought it was perfectly fine. They hadn’t gotten caught and the worst that would happen would be detention. Imagine if they found out about the smoking? They would be in worst trouble for that really. He felt his heart break when she glared at him. He couldn’t stop loving her! It was how he was feeling for Merlin Sake! That was like telling him not to do anymore pranks for the rest of his life! He was sure he heart his heart shatter or maybe it chipped on his rib cage he wasn’t sure. He shook his head. “I’m sorry.” He told her looking down at his feet for a moment. “But it’s how I feel. I don’t like those girls, I like you more than anything. I’ve never liked a girl so much in my life!” He exclaimed. He didn’t want her to be upset with him, not at all but it seemed like he was pushing her in that direction. “I’m sorry, and I’m sorry about mentioning you know. Though no one is paying attention to us, look.” He said gesturing towards the large room. Everyone was lost in their own worlds, dancing and eating and…whatever was going on in the corner over there. “I just wanted you to know how I feel about you.” He said. He was trying really hard not to touch her again.
