[Retired-Flash]

Wally West was enjoying a relaxing day at home in Keystone City! It was quiet day, too quiet, until he seen on TV that a jewelery store had been robbed! He used his super speed to form his suit out of pure energy and became the fastest man alive The Flash! Although he was quick to the scene the villian had still gotten away! Fast or not anyone would have trouble seeing threw the thick fog that was in town that day! And even though there was a fog the Flash was still on the trail which ultimately led him to Gotham in the worst possible place Crime Alley!

"Jeez what a dump! They must not believe in trash day around here!" said the Flash.

Then as The Flash continued on he noticed the missing jewelery the Kestone Keepsake(a green colored locket made in Keystone City. Although many are made few are owned due to their outrageous price) laying next to the dead body which was obviously the theif.

A fitting place to die for being a theif, but why would he be murdered while the locket just lays here?thought the Flash and then out of knowhere two men stepped out from the shadows with machine guns and the first one said "So you must be this Batman, but you don`t look like no bat!"

"Ahhh i see how this works. You guys murder this guy and plant the fancy locket that knowone could resist so when they try and take it you rob them, get their money, and the locket! You guys know your greedy right?" said the Flash with a grin on his face. Then the first guy with a gun said "just kill the Batman" and as they both started firing the Flash instead of easily running out of the way he used his speed to catch all the bullets fired at him and then dropped them to the ground. Then he ran up and struck a blow to both the thugs faces leaving them unconcious.

"Man i don`t know why you guys keep calling me Batman, but thats not me. I`m The Flash! Oh yea, theyre unconcious!" said Flash.

The Flash realized he had to take the men to jail, but where was the closest jail he thought. He had never been to Gotham before. So he stood there to think for a minute as the unconcious men layed by his side.

[Batman]

“The Flash… Huh?” A deep, soul penetrating voice said from behind. There was a large silhouette pinned on the alley wall of what could have been of Satan himself, or some other demon of the night. It then stretched out its arms revealing a set of Bat-like wings. A body fell on the ground behind the Flash perhaps that of what could have been a third mugger. And towering behind him perched up on a dumpster was the real Batman.

His eyes peered down at the Flash, empty and colorless. The Batman gazed into the eyes, that returned white pupils, of mysterious masked man debating whether he be friend of foe. Lowering his cape the Batman alighted from the large dumpster. Then standing face to face with the Flash sizing him up. “Remember there is usually always a lookout…” the Batman said pulling several pairs of cuffs out of his utility belt.

He bent down cuffing each of the three culprits, binding there hands with fasteners shaped like metal bats. Then he took another tool from his belt, one that had a rope extend from it similar to a tape measure. The three unconscious men were quickly bound together. The Batman raised his arm pointing the device outward toward a light post that was out on the open street and back through the end of the alley. Suddenly a load pop! exclaimed from the gadget as a hook sailed through the air and tied itself around the pole.

When the Batman released his hand the other end yanked off the ground hard and hurled the three unconscious men out of the alley and dangling under a post just like they were a human yo-yo!

The Batman then peered back at the Flash, “I don’t know who you are, but this is my city, and don’t like seeing rouge vigilantes roaming the streets. So keep in mind, when you’re in Gotham, and if you slip up… I always have an extra set…” He said lifting up his arm to show he still held a single set off cuffs clenched in his palm.

6 hours earlier........

Deathstroke walked into an old run down warehouse not far from where Batman and The Flash were now. He walked confidently as if he knew where he was going.

"Are you wired?" a voice said startling him.

"No," he replied

"How about bugged? From what I hear the Bats is pretty crafty."

"Check me if you don't trust me!"

The man walk up to Deathstroke hold a small metal device.

"You can never be to careful" he said.

The man pressed a button and a small disc dropped off Deathstroke.

"Well what do you know? He is crafty....."

[Retired-Flash]

The Flash looked at the tall figure amazed at all the tools and gadgets he had propelled out of his belt.

"Rouge vigilanty huh? And what would that make you?" said the Flash.

The Flash couldve sworn he heard a small growl come from the tall figure so he switched the question.

"So you must be this Batman they kept calling me?" Nice cape ive never been a cape person though! And awesome belt! You wouldnt happen to have an extra one with all those neat looking gadets would ya?" said the Flash.

[Batman]

The Batman squinted his eyes in disgust as he re-holstered his cuffs. He did indeed growl subconsciously when the Flash implied that he too was just a vigilante. Although this was true in some degree, but because of the Batman’s extensive training he did not feel this way about himself, or those he took under his wing. They were guardians of Gotham, and protectors of the innocent. He stood silent ignoring the Flash’s babbling, and started to speak when he grew quite.

“This is perhaps the most dangerous city on the East Coast, and your wandering around in the middle of the night in a bright red flashy suit… Let me tell you something, in Gotham people shoot first and don’t ask questions.” The Batman began saying seeming annoyed. Then raising his voice a little, “You know how many people think they got it cut out to be a hero…? It takes more then a costume and fancy footwork, otherwise you’ll end up dead for rats to feast on in some dumpster.” As the Batman concluded his sentence he nodded his head toward the dumpster he leaped off from, where several rats were nibbling on crumbs twitching there ears and scurrying around them.

“Now why are you in my city…? Make it quick, there are other criminals out tonight, and I don’t have time to be supervising you…” The Batman said reaching into his belt and pulling out a tracking device, as he was still on the chase of a criminal.

[Retired-Flash]

"Hey, it also takes more than a few gadgets and looking like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed to be a hero as well, but none the less we obviously have similar goals when it comes to sick people who think they can do whatever they want! And thats what im doing here! I was following the guy laying dead over there and he escaped to here, but obviously that wasnt too smart...which reminds me" said the Flash as he walked over to pick up the missing jewelry.

"So it looks like your toy there is homing in on something and your all alone so i assume you could use some help! You said it yourself that this place is dangerous and your obviously right so what do you say?" said the Flash putting out his hand hoping for some type of positive greeting.

[Batman]

The Batman squinted down at the Flash's extended hand and grinded his teeth a little at him, but then he paused and said, “I could keep a better eye on you that way… But you have to stay low and keep quiet.” The Batman said flapping the end of his cape off the ground and gesturing for the Flash to follow. Perhaps that was blunt, but one would consider it a gesture of approval from the Batman.

“I’m looking for a male who is about 6’4, and probably around 220 pounds. He wears a simple hooded mask covering his facial features. Seems tactical, probably a military flunky. He’s quick, but not fast like you, and he likes to use explosives. You know anyone who fits this description…?” The Batman said stopping where the alley let out.

Across the quiet dead street some news papers and garbage blew down the block in front of a dilapidated and abandoned building. “The tracer points to here.” He said glancing back at the Flash and pointing across the street. “Scum like him call places like this home…”

[Retired-Flash]

As the Flash stood there thinking of such a person as Batman described he withdrew his hand and scratched his head puzzled!

"Sorry can`t say that I do. It`s been so quiet in Keystone besides this one incident that lead me here that I can`t even remember the regular clowns causing mishap in my city!"

As they quietly walked towards the building the Flash couldn`t help but ask this new friend who facinated him so...

"So what made you do it? What made you put on the mask and decide you want to help people? Like me when I got the gift I have of super speed it was obvious I had gotten it for a reason so I used it to help people, but you, no offense, but you don`t seem to have any super powers that push you to do what you do so why? Why especially for such a dark and dull city?

[Batman]

The Batman crouched down pulling at a pair of high power binoculars. He carefully examined the buildings surroundings, and switched to a night vision mode to peer inside the building where the boarded up windows had cracks or openings. Still scanning the area for something significant he started to answer the flash.

“Life isn’t always fair, and perhaps an unfortunate or traumatic event pushes someone over the edge from time to time. This spawns two types of people… Sometimes a man chooses to take it into his own hands to fulfill their quest for revenge because they feel the world owes them. The type that goes out into the night hurting others to fill the void left by their own pain because they want others to know what they feel. And there is me, the type who stop them…” The Batman said taking his binoculars off the abandoned building for a moment and zooming in on another dilapidated landmark. It was an old rundown theater where Bruce Wayne’s parents were murdered after the family attended a show. “I am the Batman not because I have to be. No, because I choose to be...”

He then stood up handing the Flash his binoculars. “Have a look, its too quiet. This stinks like a setup. Even if a confident criminal were hiding out in that building there would be more signs… Someone looking over their shoulder. This guy was military trained, probably has the entire place booby trapped. Take notice of the upper right window, the way that board is dangling on by a single nail. That was pried like that today because someone was keeping a lookout…”

The Batman stealthily started to roam closer to the building making a motion for the flash to follow. “Watch yourself, especially where you steep. Military fanatics are big on explosives and trip mines. Let's move in...” The Batman said pulling off one of the boards over the window. A tiny flashlight shined from his finger tip as he carefully examined the inside of the room, then effortlessly climbed inside.

[Retired-Flash]

"I see" replied the Flash as he took in Batmans story.

"So you do this all the time dont you?" whispered the Flash.

They entered the building quietly watching for traps and explosives and anything else that would cause a known intrusion. They canviced the area and searched for clues that would help them.

"Nothing over here out of the ordinary!" whispered the Flash loudly.

Then as they continued looking a noise came from the upstairs. The sounds of muffled voices that couldnt be made out until they got a little closer. The unknow suspects started making there way down the stairs. The Flash sped behind a few crates sitting in the corner to hide. He then gestured to Batman to do the same behind the crates on the opposite side of the room.

[Batman]

The Batman hid stealthy in the shadows opposite side of the Flash and waited for the mysterious figures to come into the open. The Batman gestured to Flash a hand signal he shared with his partners, pointing to the Flash and lifting two fingers. He was trying to sign for him to grab the second thug. It didn’t matter though if he got it of not, for the Batman would simply have to deal with both of them if he didn’t understand.

Peering back at the Flash the Batman once again rose his hand, holding up all five fingers. Then one by one they each went down and the Batman sprang into action! Easily leaping clear over the crate the Batman pounced on one of the men. The sound of his scream was followed by the sound of glass breaking. The Batman hurled the man onto a crate, and stopped short of punching him.

“Don’t kill me man! Don’t kill me!” He yelled putting his hands up, having been clenching a broken beer bottle. The Batman disarmed him and tossed the bottle to the ground. “No…” the Batman said in anger fumbling through the man’s jacket. “No… This is just a crack house!” He said finding his tracer inside one of the pockets and throwing it against the wall in anger. “Who gave this to you?! Where is he?!” The Batman screamed spitting at him while picking the bum up off the crate and holding him up in the air.

The Batman eyed the other bum who accompanied him, and he looked as if he was heading for the door. At that point the Batman eyed the Flash…

[Retired-Flash]

At that point Flash sped towards the door faster than the speed of light!

"Going somewhere?" said the Flash with a grin on his face. "Hey unless you wanna answer to him" pointing at the Batman with a crazed look in his eye "you`d best tell me everything you know."

The bum looking at the Batman when the Flash pointed at him and then back at the Flash and he yelled "TRAP!"

"Trap? said the Flash with a confused look on his face." The bum then said "Look in the crates!"

The Flash then walked over to the crates he was hiding behind only to find dynamite filled to the brim! The bum knowing he was going to end up in jail pulled out a set of matches, lit them and threw them into one of the many explosive crates laying around the room! The Flash noticed the small light out of the corner of his eye, but it was too late to do anything! The bum in Batmans hands had passed out due to the fear the Batman had put into him and the fact that the other bum threw a set of matches into dynamite and the bum had who threw the matches pulled out a needle and made himself overdose probably so he didnt have any chance of surviving whatsoever. As all this was going on the Flash used his quick thinking and was about to grab Batman and run to safety, but before he could he noticed the matches had dulled out!

"Wow that was lucky!" said the Flash.
"So were back at square 1! We have two untalkative criminals and no clues whatsoever except for these crates full of dynamite. I don`t think the bum was lying. Maybe it was a trap. Think about it. This guy is military trained right? So he would probably have exceptional tracking skills. And the only way he would know you were coming is if he met you witch I`m sure you had to of to get the bug on him in the first place! But I don`t think he knows about me so maybe we could use that to our advantage. Any suggestions?"

[Batman]

Was the sound the Batman braced for as he seen the matches sailing through the air. Luckily they dueled before contact. He glared at the bum he was holding who had passed out from fright. Taking no chances the Batman put a set of cuffs on him, and then crouched down to the other feeling for a pulse.

The Batman looked up at the Flash and shook his head. The man began foaming at the mouth and died a few seconds later. Not even the Batman could cure a heroine overdose. The Batman inspected the fresh corpse and found a note addressed to him in the man’s pocket.

-Deathstroke

The Batman read aloud, and then crinkled up the note. “Heh. The longer you run, the worse it’s going to be when I catch you… Deathstroke…” The Batman said also aloud hoping there room was bugged so the villain would hear him. The Batman then took a good sweep of the room, although like he expected nothing of value turned up, except an explosive sample, match pack, and the note he left.

“There is nothing more to do here… Let’s go while I call the police to clean up.” The Batman said, exiting through the window once again. He then pulled out an untraceable cell phone, and in the voice of Matches Molon, a disguise he used besides the Bruce Wayne persona, dialed Gotham PD. “Yeah I got something to report. An overdose, another unconscious, looks like the work of the Batman… The place is rigged with explosives chief, so you better bring your dogs…” The Batman talked in not only completely different voice, but different personality entirely. It was like watching his lips move as another man spoke.

He closed the phone and looked for the Flash, and then said in the Batman voice again, “I can’t dedicate an entire night hunting one man. For all I know he could have left Gotham by now. In the meantime I have my standard routes to cover.” The Batman said glaring at him and pressed a button on his belt.

Suddenly the Batmobile speed up and halted in front of them. The hood automatically went down, and the Batman vaulted over the side into the drivers seat, “Hop in, and we’re running short on time, so its going to be a wild ride…”

[Retired-Flash]

The Flash looked at the snazzy vehicle and decided he could use a little time off his feet! He jumped in and buckled up!

"Nice car!" said the Flash in an astonished voice. "Its ironic, I know a lot about cars, but I rarely drive them. You know with the speed and all." Remarked the Flash.

Then as the Flash was sitting back in the passangers side he noticed all the lights flashing and things glaring and said "So i assume when your dashboard goes crazy that means somethings up right? So where to?"

[Batman]

The Batman turned his head and looked at the Flash, "Yeah… It means something like that." He said sounding a little amused. Then he pushed a button saying the words… "Gotham Jewelers"

The car then exploded into gear! A rocket engine propelled them forward, giver a jerk that would probably send there backs hitting the seats! The hood, which was still open, then automatically closed itself. The Batman pushed another button, "Scan for police personnel…"

“Searching….” A robotic voice responded. “Gotham authorities will arrive at Gotham Jewelers in approximately 5.122 minutes.”

"Five minutes…" The Batman said. "That means we have to be there in four…" He said clicking a button and taking the wheel, and then pressing down even harder on the gas… He then pushed another button on the dash board. The sound of a phone ringing could be heard, and then an answering machine picked up playing a silly little theme song. "Batgirl, I need you to find out anything you can on someone using the alias Deathstroke…" The Batman said then pushing a button to hang up. The powerful batmobile continued to tear through the streets on its course at lightning speed!
