| QUOTE (TheShadowInc @ Jul 29 2009, 01:40 AM) | | QUOTE | | This poll is useless, if it can't give you a real idea of the answer your looking for, what in the world is the point. |
Maybe you can tell everyone why towns went from having 100 people in them to having less than 50 in every town some only having 30??
What was your point in the first place to posting this trying to get something out and not quiet sure on how to say it Ricy!
If you want a real Idea on how the server is doing just go have a look in the info on hwo many residents each town has that might give you somewhat of a clue on whats going on. Include a few who only log on now 1 time a week to stay active in town whats your brilliant answer to that??
| QUOTE | | Every game comes to an end, therefore the inevitable answer is yes |
Not every game I could name a few that are still around doing very strong after 7 years!!
And isn't goonzu sapose to be free game for life? LoL!

Keeping in mind that your demanding I answer for things, while I never argued against your tyrade. My point, was clearly, that your poll will show a very one-sided win on this particular forum and the 10 ppl here. And it will mean absolutely nothing. But we all know that anyway.
However, the average per town is more than 50. Some have 35 or so, and some ahve 90. I'd guess the average is around 60 - 65. There are really only a hand-ful of towns less than 50 that I know of. (this is of course not counting Ankaran).
you say "Less than 50 in EVERY town".......that's highly exaggerated. Unless you count the alts. Then there might be only 15 real ppl on most towns LoL.
And yes, we now have less in each town. But we also have twice the number of towns that we once had.
Is there a dramatic drop in the number of players?......I really have no idea. It's possible that there is...or isnt. Ndoors definately needs to work on their influx of new players. People will inevitable come and go and get disgrundled....I've been around long enough to know that's just simply how it goes.
Those that need gms to hold their hands all the time will get upset and leave, and others will come in their place. I believe that their core foundation of players are mostly in-tact, and like lep said....things could in-fact get better.
And no I didn't have anything I had trouble saying....this poll is still worthless <shrug> it just is. Polls are generally used for getting an idea of how the majority thinks on a certain subject. There's like 10 ppl here and we all know what the majority will vote already ;p
The reality is that the complainers making noise on the forum are an extremely small part of the community in luminary....like .0001%. You almost have to not take them into consideration at all (no offense)
I'm straightforward to a fault sometimes., I rarely have trouble saying what I mean :)
But yes, the advertising for goonzu seems to be terrible. Without good marketing any project is on a path to failure. I surf mmo fan sites, forums etc, on a regular basis and I see ads for online games by the hundreds it seems. I've never seen an advertisement for goonzu or luminary.
If they don't learn to attract new players, they'll probably be in trouble, regardless of the changes they make. But I'll be around to see how it goes

As for the question, and the term "flop" being used to describe the game's demise, I voted "no" and I'll tell you why.
Throw aside what you know and use simple logic!
The most common perception is that GoonZu is funding other games like Wonder King and Atlantica. I do not wish to offend anyone, but this can not be completely true. If GoonZu is pulling in enough money to not only support itself but make other games possible then regardless of how "uninteresting" GoonZu may be, it is still pulling in good money then why would they give up on it? makes absolutely no sense at all. I think the status of this game's existence is ok for the time being. If GoonZu was NDOORS first major project, then it is naturally going to be responsible for funding other games. If those other games dont manage to support themselves and just suck away GoonZu profits, then what sense does it make for THOSE games to exist? They have to advertise, promote the games and give them a chance to float. GoonZu has already proven it can support itself if it's funding other games development. obviously, logic. duuuh.
As for the customer service nonsense, I dont see what the problem is. A few bad experiences here and there, A GM team who is somewhat limited in its power (and we know this, so why do we keep asking them for miracles), and the rest of the people just riding the crybaby bandwagon.
get widdit, mon!
