Title: Orbit over Dwin
Description: Small Zerian Armada
Nikana Jamie Diri - June 3, 2009 10:58 AM (GMT)
Approaching at a distance, if unmatched or unchallenged... one would immediately take notice.
A collection of battleships spread out once the planet Dwin was reached. Each would cover a sector to effectively "siege" the planet from orbit... and though while civilian ships to and from Dwin were not turned away, they would be intercepted and questioned as to their motives and searched thoroughly. Fighters accompanied the battleships as several escorted small groups of dropships that eventually began to emerge.
Prof. Landori - June 3, 2009 11:11 AM (GMT)
A small dimplomatic vessal aproached the fleet 'This is Leano Myre of the council of Dwin, we welcome all vissitors but we respectfuly ask what the purpose of this inquest.'
Dwin was neutral it had been appart from the alliance since it was founded, they were on good terms with Zeria and wanted it to stay that way - this inquest was odd. Dwin had no natural reasources worth invasion and had never aidded either side in combat, athough many technologies created by the DSRI have become commonplace in both zeria and the alliance.
(and as for the... events with Laevatein... no one knows about them.)
Nikana Jamie Diri - June 3, 2009 11:18 AM (GMT)
(I know I haven't even read that thread thoroughly)
It took some time before a response to come.
"We are going to use your land. We will not harm your facilities nor will we request the boycott of all business with the Alliance. We request access to your planet as it's central position in relation to both sides of this war would make a vital outpost."
The loss of resources for the sake of needless violence wasn't at all necessary. Not if they could peacefully obtain the planet through diplomatic means.
Prof. Landori - June 3, 2009 11:24 AM (GMT)
'But Dwin has always been neutral! It's not THAT central. Isn't there another place to set up an outpost?' Leano was panicking, one could here the repressed crying as his angry statement turned into a plead.
Nikana Jamie Diri - June 3, 2009 11:28 AM (GMT)
"I'm sorry... but we are on orders to open fire if you do not cooperate."
Mana-guns visibly charged. A couple tracer rounds from various battlecruisers shot planetside, as if their operators just weren't patient enough to wait for the order. Missiles loaded and fighters took formation. Obviously, this was a threat of superior firepower, and a request to yield.
(OMFG I JUST REACHED DEDICATED... legitimately, 100 posts, none of them BS OOC posts simply to increase my post count.)
Prof. Landori - June 3, 2009 11:52 AM (GMT)
The Diplomatic ship had one this on its side, shields. The DSRI had first been built to design various forms of non-harmful defence tactics. The planet had Secret sheild emiters burried in its crust, and the ship it self was equiped with ones uperior to those of either faction, as well as an EMP mega wave emittor and a Manatreanch (a very large device that displaces the weive causing magic based attacks to dissipate... it would give in eventualy though).
(NOTE; All this tech was not made standard on combat ships because the immence size and energy drain of the stuff means that it can't house any wepons - especialy the Manatreanch)
However Leano would not attempt to bring war 'We request time to talk to both Zeria and the Alliance and establish a treaty.' he said Although I didn't know anything was wrong with the one we already have. And why do they want this planet - there are hundreds of others that would make better outposts... unless... THEY WANT US AS HUMAN SHEILDS!:o
'Obviously you may occupy the planet during that time.' he said nervously.
(OOC - Hmm Laevatein promissed neutrality for Dwin... I'll talk to him he may help)
Carson - June 4, 2009 03:06 AM (GMT)
The walls of the mana tunnel streamed by the small ship, red ahead and blue behind. The ship, a cutter class, screamed down the portal at interstellar speeds.
The portal itself was an older form of transportation: A hallway in space would be formed, designated to end after a certain amount of distance was achieved. Although very capable of transporting ships vast distances, it lacked the power to cross between galaxies, and was usually only capable of passing half of the known galaxy.
The ship in question was the Sunrise, pilot and captain Carson Redwood at the helm. Smooth jazz played through the bridge. He used to have two crewmen, but they had left to pursue their new interests. So all Carson had was the Artificial Intelligence of the ship.
Armed with a rail cannon, a chaingun, and rocket silos, it was obviously a combat ship, and several modern technologies have brought the vintage ship into the new decades.
The trip itself lasted only thirteen seconds, the mana portal shooting the small ship from the end at top speed. To gain even more speed, Carson would have spread his sails, gaining momentum from the mana waves coming out behind him from the closing portal. Upon reaching the planet, he would have landed, and would have seeked mechanical crewmen to help patch his matrix drive.
But he couldn't, not with the Zerian siege in place. "Dammit..." Carson mumbled, as he was being hailed for a search.
Zerian Military Forces - June 4, 2009 03:44 AM (GMT)
A small Zerian ship made the attempt to dock against the Sunrise. This ship's entire purpose was to be a mobile security checkpoint. Within were troops, armed and well-practiced in the procedures for their job and responses to unusual events.
Carson - June 4, 2009 03:50 AM (GMT)
Carson quickly turned down the ships thrusters, applying counter-drives to stop the ship - Or what was closest in space. The hum of the ship slowly died down to a mere drawl across the bridge.
He locked the helm, the controls sliding up to allow him to move off of the seat. Making his way to the airlock, he told himself, "I don't have to lie to them this time." He unlocked the secure door, and stepped back for the pressurization.
Zerian Military Forces - June 4, 2009 03:53 AM (GMT)
Docking complete.
A representative unit boarded Carson's ship. Their uniforms were standard, rank upon the shoulders of a plain black suit, the red triangle of Zeria emblazoned upon the left breast.
"We appreciate the cooperation. Come aboard our ship and we'll give you a quick search and transport to the planet.. yours is an armed vessel and will be held here in orbit until you return. I apologize for the inconvenience."
Carson - June 4, 2009 03:55 AM (GMT)
Although more than happy to cooperate with the Zerian officials, removing his small side-arm - A standard Variant-Umber pistol, their detainment made his plan flawed.
"...See," He said, reluctantly, "I need repairs...And holding my ship up here isn't doing me any good with that."
Zerian Military Forces - June 4, 2009 03:58 AM (GMT)
"Well, again, I apologize for the inconvenience. You may turn back if you wish.. or we could repair it for you. Though quality is assured, you'll have to talk to finance.. we can link you to that department if you still want to make a landing planetside."
Carson - June 4, 2009 04:03 AM (GMT)
He needed the matrix drive repaired. Atlantis officials had told him that they no longer had the technicians trained in matrix designs - They had been outsourced, as energy core technology had taken off. Cheaper, easier to maintain. Carson still stood with the crowd that said matrix systems had more power.
"It would be much easier to repair the ship on the ground, though if you have technicians trained in mana-matrix drain systems, that would help me greatly."
Zerian Military Forces - June 4, 2009 04:21 AM (GMT)
"We can investigate... though a small possibility remains that we wont have that sort of expertise. You might want to turn around if that's the case. You can wait here or be on your way, but we cannot let you onto the planet's surface."
The Zerian representative is cooperative and tries to be as polite and civil as possible, so that Carson recognized the fact that this was a decision WAY above his rank and paygrade.
Carson - June 4, 2009 04:26 AM (GMT)
Carson quickly scanned his inbox from his video visor, noticing a new message from Variant-Umber about a contract. He read it quickly, before turning to the representative.
"...I have nothing to do for the next few days, so I can stay here on-board if that is okay with you. However, due to the contract that contains the terms of my ownership of the ship, I can not allow the ship to remain in your hands without my supervision of its handling." He repeated it as though he memorized it for an occasion such as this - As an occasion such as this happens quite often in the galaxy.
"If that is okay with you, I mean?"
The contract in question was a request for information about the Zerian siege on Dwin. Variant-Umber Weapons Technology liked to keep an eye on their many sources of new technology.
Zerian Military Forces - June 4, 2009 05:55 AM (GMT)
"no, I'm afraid not. I'm going to have to ask you to leave the area unless you fully intend on going planetside and leaving the ship with us."
Carson - June 4, 2009 06:00 AM (GMT)
He didn't want to chance the matrix overheating again, especially with the damage. "...Fine. I will go planetside." He began walking towards the bridge of his ship. "However, I will need the AI card to assist me on land."
Zerian Military Forces - June 4, 2009 06:03 AM (GMT)
"AI Card?"
He assumed this was something similar to the Zerian Common Access Card, which itself had it's own AI that learned it's user's preferences concerning computer desktop arrangements, vehicle operation patterns and such.
Carson - June 4, 2009 06:06 AM (GMT)
"Yes, AI card. My ship's personal AI." He quickly retrieved the card from the helm, the small chip able to sit on his thumb, and slipped it into his visor. "Me and it are quite close, and it is capable of assisting me even out of the ship." He made his way back to the airlock.
"...So, how am I getting planetside?"
Zerian Military Forces - June 4, 2009 06:20 AM (GMT)
The Zerian pointed him to a second doorway, that led to a transport. Once he was fully weaponless he'd be allowed into the hatch, and board a small transit fit for an entire family. The console would autopilot to several predetermined destinations.
Carson - June 4, 2009 06:23 AM (GMT)
The transport was spacious, enough for a platoon of troops. "You sure this is big enough?" Carson asked, sitting down. His AI quickly caught up to speed through the contract message, displaying information about the planet, as well as vitals of the Zerian transport he was in.
His visor had very short-distance electromagnetic scanning ability, as well as infrared capability. But he wasn't about to tell anyone that.
Prof. Landori - June 4, 2009 02:41 PM (GMT)
(OK, back to the capture of Dwin)
Leano Myre spoke again, after having discussed it with the council for now this would be their only choise 'Zerian comander, we will allow you to construct an outpost on Dwin. We do however request a few things, it is not to house any Zerian civilians or turrets of any kind, the out post should be only for troop movement in this sector - we do not want the war to be fought on our planet.'
Rothard Eni Dar - June 7, 2009 12:07 PM (GMT)
A small group of ships left the planet and made their way to different points of the blockade. Although they contained parts for sheild technology, not even an expert would recognise that.
Astriana Faction - June 7, 2009 12:22 PM (GMT)
Kaoru: You know.. I would have thought the zerian army would.. be harder to get passed than this...

The Mortox - November 14, 2009 03:17 AM (GMT)
The Galactic Gate had been placed in the stars where it belonged. Samuel had lucked out. He was infection free. However, the things were not satisfied with the capture of his ship. It flared to life... a fleet of derelict ships, all manned by "undead" crew, flew through. At the helm of each one was an intelligent specimen, though very limited in free will. The Mortox were here, and they were going to spread their taint from one galaxy to another.
