Our Story

Fire and Blood is an RP based on the Series "A Song of Ice and Fire" and the television series "Game of Thrones" written and created by George R.R. Martin. However unlike the series of books and the HBO show, this site takes place years before King Baratheon and the Lannisters and is focused around the strife that lead up to the Rebellion.

The Targaryen's are still in power, they are the ruling cast and king Aerys II sits on the thrones, later to be known as 'The Mad King'. Prince Rhaegar lives along with his wife and children, Prince Viserys lives although is very young. Daenerys has yet to be born. Rhaegar is in love, some say obsessed with the Stark daughter Lyanna, it is yet to be known if she shares the same feelings for him as he does her. Aerys dances on the edge of madness, and by the day creates some new way to wreak horrors on those who stand before him, enemies, servants, friends, it makes to matter to the "mad-king".

A Great tournament has just taken place, Jamie Lannister has been forbidden by the King from entering, Tywin Lannister, spurred by Aery's previous actions has withdrawn as hand to the king and is further enraged by this. Rhaegar, an honorable and seemingly well liked prince has caused an uproar, not by winning the tournament. Prince Rhaegar laid the winter rose crown of the queen of beauty in Lyanna’s lap rather than that of his wife, the Dornish Princess Elia.

Robert Baratheon, betrothed to Lyanna Stark is enraged by this, along with most of the Stark's there. It is unclear how Lyanna herself feels about such things and there is much speculation behind her and Rhaegar's relationship. However this tournament at Harrenhal laid the glowing embers in the war. This is where we pick up, the Lords whisper among themselves, some displeased by Rhaegar's actions, others supporting the apparent love the Prince holds for her.

The land is equally split when it comes to the Targaryen's. Aerys is Mad, everyone knows, but the throne rightfully belongs to the Dragon's and no others. On the other side of the coin, some believe the Targaryen's cruel, and with Aerys at the throne, unworthy of their position as the rulers of Westeros.

Fire and Blood had gathered this information from various resources throughout the internet and does not claim that everything is precise or perfect! This roleplay takes place between one and two years prior to the rebellion and the downfall of the Targaryen's. Will things go as it is written? Or will the quill strokes be a little different this time? It falls to the player's to decide!
