Title: How Important is Speed?

lukeskywalker - February 28, 2009 11:38 PM (GMT)
I've been asked a couple times by my co-host in Mingo, just how important is this factor speed? I have spent most of my earned attributes on it, and currently have the highest speed rating, and since this will be interesting to me I am going to sim a game of DeAnderson's vs Stingrays. The only non-DA players will be our QB Graham Harrel, the linemen, and our kickers. The CPU 20-alls will also stay the same shitty selves that they are. Stingrays and DA's are ready to rock.

Just to let you guys know, the Freedom will be bringing back their ugly festive jersies for this game, and the Pirates still have Polomalu (sp?) on their team.

The DA's boot it off and it's a touchback.

Also, this is only 2 minute quarters and on '08.

1:10 - Handoff to the right side for Barabash, 7 yard gain.

2:3 - Barabash tries to go wide, stopped for a loss of 1.

3:4 - Falco steps back, throws to Lim but Green jumps it. Can't make the interception.

4:4 - The punt is off and Sabathia receives it at his own 38, slips the first tackle but only gains two yards.

lukeskywalker - February 28, 2009 11:54 PM (GMT)
1:10 - Harrell bombs it deep first play, clearly passer interference by Otogwe on Miller, but whatever. No one gets to it.

2:10 - Harrell sees Ocho Dos open in the flat, and it goes off his forearm and to the ground.

3:10 - Harrell bombs it again, this one to no one. Polamalu almost makes the interception, Luccini was still about 10 yards away from it.

4:10 - Hume gets rocked after the kick, but it goes out at the 6.

T-Dizzle - March 1, 2009 12:02 AM (GMT)
Stingrays have Polamalu right?

lukeskywalker - March 1, 2009 12:08 AM (GMT)
1:10 - It's a sweep right, but they get no where to end the half. Justin Case brings Bash down.

2:10 - Falco admires his well-thrown ball in to the hands of Johnson, and then back out of the hands of Johnson, and on to the ground.

3:10 - Barabash follows his block, Tim Riggins rocks Rowak with a pancake, and Bash has space to run, retarded Madden physics makes Sabathia whiff on the diving tackle, and there's no one. Bash gets like 80 yards before Tribal chases him down at the 11.

1:10 - OK, apparently there is penalties. DA gets called for pass interference in the endzone, and the ball will move to the 1 yard line.

Stingrays have Polamalu right?

They just released him this week to sign ArkansasInbred's player.

You said Pirates have Polamalu, but I guess you meant Stingrays. That's what I was getting at.

lukeskywalker - March 1, 2009 12:14 AM (GMT)
1:1 - The Stingrays fake the handoff, but the defense is quick enough to get back, and deflect it away.

2:1 - Through the herd, and Barabash gets the major.

The extra point is good, and San Diego jumps ahead by a touchdown. 7-0.

The Freedom get ready to receive.

The kickoff is a touchback.

1:10 - Ocho Dos wide open, but there is pressure, Harrell panicks, and throws it away.

2:10 - Cook has about 6 yards of seperation on Haan, but sadly his momentum doesn't let him turn up field, and he only gets 2 before running out of bounds

3:8 - A short pass.. King has time to turn around, but only gets back to the line of scrimmage.

4:8 - Barabash can't get to the punt and it goes over him. Rowak touches the ball at the 25.

lukeskywalker - March 1, 2009 12:34 AM (GMT)
1:10 - Falco to Riggins over the middle, just barely stopped short of the 1st by Sabathia.

2:IN - Tribal stands there as he lets Johnson by him. First down they get to Stingrays 46.

1:10 - San Diego uses up their last time out with 20 seconds left, Harrell throws deep, Sabathia is just there, him and his ball, but he drops the interception.

2:10 - Gah! Thrown again, right in to the hands of Maschue, and that would have easily been a touchdown, unless he wasn't tactical enough to get around Dierdorf.

3:10 - Now it's Tribal's turn to drop the interception, jumps infront of Johnson and drops it with authority.

4:10 - Maschue, Irwin, and Tribal all almost get a piece of the punt, but alas none do, and the half is over.

What PB's did you use for my team? Also If you updated your player and no others it seems pointless. I'll have 3 less speed than you after I update.

lukeskywalker - March 1, 2009 12:41 AM (GMT)
Bohmin kick downfield. Sabathia takes the knee.

1:10 - The first run of the game for the Freedom comes in the second half, with Chunky Monkey through the middle for 2.

2:8 - The guard didn't do shit, as King had to around him and straight in to the linemen, still gets 4 though.

3:4 - Miller open for the longest time, Harrel waits until it's too late to throw it. Deflected.

4:4 - Rowak is stupid, and runs right in to Barabash who called for the fair catch. Ball goes to the Freedom 45.

Well our QB is from W1, and I just used Balanced 4-3 for both of us.

I'll continue this when I get back, don't worry friends!

Looks like someone is passing his audition for simmer.

Put him up for some Stingray games, he takes pretty pics of Falco!

Nah, I would but I only have '08.

lukeskywalker - March 1, 2009 07:08 AM (GMT)
1:10 - The play 4 hours in the making. Falco drops back, and Tribal picks it off. Barabash rushes in and stops the return from being anything serious.

1:10 - Getting a little choppy, but either way. Harrell steps back, the defender runs around the line and Graham throws it away before he's sacked.

2:10 - Nate King up the middle, then he doesn't know where to go, and the judge brings him down after 5.

3:5 - To start the 4th Harrell tries a play action, but Reggie White and Mehoff are untouched, barely gets the throw away.

4:5

lukeskywalker - March 1, 2009 07:19 AM (GMT)
4:5 - Harrell steps back, tries to throw it to, but Curran goes way up and breaks up the play.

Sweet, game on.

lukeskywalker - March 1, 2009 07:23 AM (GMT)
1:10 - Barabash up the middles for 3.

2:7 - They try for the screen play, but only get 2 yards.

3:5 - Barabash up the middle, and gets enough for the first down. With 2 timeouts already used up and a buck-forty to go, that should wrap 'er up.

lukeskywalker - March 1, 2009 07:37 AM (GMT)
1:10 - Dubois paves the way for Barabash up the left side, as Barabash goes to the 27 untouched. Brought down by Sabathia.

Boom!

1:10 - Barabash bounces to the left side, and is sandwiched in between Tribal and Rowak, it's knocked loose by Tribal's knee! It bounces off Justin Case's lap, and Slater the O-Linemen saves it, not before getting head-locked inbetween Case's thighs. 4 yard gain.

Hey! Stop looking at the camera and get that football!

You've redeemed yourself.

Two knees following that, and the game is over.

*tear tear*

So, I guess this shows, speed aint that huge of an advantage as the computer can't figure out how to use their strengths.
