Eck Interview
Smith: Welcome to this week's show. We have the Victoria Rebels middle linebacker, J Eck, with us today to discuss the start of the GFA regular season. How are you doing today, Eck?
Eck: I'm doing perfectly fine, Joe.
Smith: You had a tough start to the season with a lose against the Puerto Rico Pirates, however you had a pretty good stat-line. How did it feel to get the season started?
Eck: It felt great to get the season started. I wish we could have pulled the game out. I think the defense played the well. The linebackers were great. the secondary was alright except forJjustin Wood getting burnt. After this interview, i am going to his house to talk to him. He called me up crying. No idea what that's about. The offense was terrible, 144 total yards on offense is terrible. The wide receivers also had 8 drops. That has to be worked on.
Smith: The game against the Pirates was also the second game in a row where you had over 7 tackes. Are you hoping to keep this up and maybe make a run for DPOTY at the end of the season?
Eck: It is early in the season, real early. My 8 tackle game came in the pre season so i really don't count that as a game. I would love to win DPOTY or even MLB of the year but it is way to early to tell. My competition for both is just crazy too. The middle linebackers is just a amazing group of guys. I would love to win the award but i would rather have a ring. I come into the seaosn looking to just put up good stats and bring the ring home. If that isnt what happens, then the seaosn is wasted. I just take some things out of it, learn and move on.
Eck: Sorry, Justin is calling me again. Thanks for the interview Joe. It was great seeing you.
Smith: Thanks a lot man, best of luck and help turn everything around in Victoria i am routing for you guys. My sons are also big fans.
