Miles walked the Island of Yock quietly. He had swam here during the night and now he was simply walking about. He walked on all fours calmly as he usually did (ya, he is more manlike so I'm gonna use he instead of it or she). Miles litterally had no purpose in the world as of yet and it was quite boring.

'All those students are giving me a stiff neck...' Dr. Skye Tannheuser thought to herself as she rowed herself out to the island she'd used so many times to conduct her earliest experiments. Being a native of Dublith, a small town not far from the island, she was quite familiar with Yock Island, even if it was uninhabited. There was even a cave where she had enough to live there for a week comfortably stored inside.

Finally, the gangly young woman got out of the boat, docking it, and marched onto the shores, putting her glasses away so she could put on her large pair of sunglasses instead.

Miles layed down with his back against a tree. He (or she, whatever) sighed quietly as he used his tails to cover his chest like a blanket. He smiled and started napping.

Skye continued onward and halted when she finally spotted something strange...a humanoid chimera. 'How peculiar; I saw a bunch of those in Dublith at my favorite club while I was there.' One of them, a fox chimera named Mimi, had stolen the equivalent of five dollars out of the Death Doctor's wallet, but given Skye a margarita in exchange. Neither bickered after that, even if Skye was still a few years underage. "I didn't know other people knew about this place," she said aloud. It wasn't entirely directed at herself, either.

Miles looked up calmly. He was a little timid, but other then that he would try to be friendly. "Um. . . I dont live here," he explained quietly as he looked at the person feet submissively. "I just. . . walk arround. . . I dont live anywhere," he said.

"Seriously? Well, my hometown is only about a mile out from the coast," Skye confessed lightheartedly. Chimeras interested her, even if she didn't know a thing about how they were made. "So, how did someone like you get out here? Swimming's tough." Yes, it was; Skye couldn't do it anymore...not with her poor health.

"Last night I swam here," Miles said looking interested as to why a normal human wanted anything to do with sombody like him/her. "It wasnt that hard."

"You've got to be joking," Skye said, sitting down. Chimeras that still looked somewhat human didn't bother her anywhere near as much as talking ones that looked like nothing other than a mix of various animals. "People drown every year trying to do that; I lost a cousin like that." She'd been young, so it hadn't really affected her. Very few deaths did, actually. For the most part, the seventeen-year-old was very detached from society, striking everyone as some sort of familiar stranger.

Miles looked uncomfortable. She sounded like she was accusing him of somthing, "I. . . just did it though. . . it wasnt that hard for me. . ." he said, as he looked at his compact, but powerful muscles. He didnt look all that muscular, but he was extremely powerfull, even if he had never really used much of that power for anything.

"Well, perhaps you can handle more than people because you're a chimera," Skye thought aloud, patting Miles on the shoulder. She'd run into several chimeras in the present time. The Devil's Nest was full of them, after all. And then there was Shou Tucker; that "man" unnerved her to no end. "That's understandable. But I had to use a boat to get here." Suddenly, she felt like a weakling.

Miles looked at her hand on his shoulder. He had flinched because of bad past experiences but he smiled weakly at her, "That's understandable. I would have used one if I had one."

"So, is there any reason you're out here other than enjoying the weather?" Skye asked, ready to do nothing more than relax for a while. Amy was giving her a tough time and she wanted to get away from her trainee if at least for a week or so.

"Just looking for somewhere I belong, " Miles said in little more then a whisper. "I dont belong anywhere or to anybody. I am not loved so I have no family. . . I just wander for a meaning to my exsistance is all. . ."

Skye's glasses nearly slipped off her face with that. "People don't accept you because you're a chimera; is that it? Because if that's the case, I saw a lot of them at one of the local pubs." She wasn't kidding; Marta, Law, Kei, Mimi, Dorachet...they were all chimeras. And then there was that rather large and despondent looking fellow, Shou Tucker, but he really didn't seem to be doing well among the others in that group. In fact, Skye had heard from the last time she'd gone clubbing that "the doctor" had scurried off to territory unknown.

Miles stared, "I dont know if they'd except me even then," he said, staring. "I'm just. . ." he sighed quietly, "one of a kind."
