Guns Types of Guns:
-Pistols are small guns that are the most common type of guns around. They can be held with one hand. They are easy to conceal and can hidden inside jackets, coats, and vests. They are better used close-ranged. They can be fired rapidly in a short amount of time. They are the best type of guns for sniping and long range. But they're excellent for taking out an enemy at close range very quickly. (Posted Image) Name: 9mm SMG Ammo: 9mm round Mods: Yes Rarity: Common (Posted Image) Name: 10mm SMG Ammo: 10mm round Mods: Yes Rarity: Common Shotguns -Ah, the good ol' shotgun. They can be devastating at close ranges, and are often used for hunting. They have a kick when used, and are better known for their buckshot. Sometimes, all a man needs is a dog by his side, and a good shotgun in his hands to take out the mightiest of beasts. (Posted Image) Name: Caravan Shotgun Ammo: 20 gauge shotgun shell Mods: No Rarity: Common (Posted Image) Name: Hunting Shotgun Ammo: 12 gauge shotgun shell Mods: Yes Rarity: Uncommon (Posted Image) Name: Sawed-off Shotgun Ammo: 12 gauge shotgun shell Mods: No Rarity: Common Heavy Weapons -Oh baby, where in the world did you get one these bad boys? These guns are the cream of the crop of bullet spitting weaponry. No one would dare mess with you should you get one of the following. However, you'll need a high, high gun skill, massive amounts of strength, and be very, very lucky. Heavy Weapons are more commonly found on Super Mutants, should they be lucky themselves to have one. Energy Weapons Types of Energy Weapons:
-When it comes to energy weapons, we have two distinctive types, laser and plasma. What's the difference between them other than the name? To make it simple, lasers are fast but less accurate. Plasma is slower but more accurate. There are some mods that allow you fix these problems, so don't worry too much about it. All in all, you can still hurt someone with any of these types of E. Weapons. Pistols -Quick draw, turn that ugly mug into a sizzling pile of ashes or a bubbling pile of goo! But if your character is lucky enough (and strong enough) to have one of these muthas, then everyone, watch out! Unarmed Unarmed weapons all fall into a single category; weapons that require only your bare fists to use. Nothing is more manly than beating someone up with just your hands. But sometimes even your hands need help being beastly, so these helpful little guys will make the beatings easier. Unarmed weapons only ammunition IS YOU. GO OUT AND KICK SOMEONE'S ASS, BE A MAN. Ammo Guide So what is ammo exactly? Short for ammunition, it is basically the stuff you put into weapons that makes them deadly. By definition, ammo is "the material fired, scattered, dropped, or detonated from any weapon, as bombs or rockets, and especially shot, shrapnel, bullets, or shells fired by guns". So basically, different kinds of weapons have different ammo types. Not all guns shoot the same kind of bullets. Here's a quick guide to help you understand. Guns that fire .308 rounds
Guns that fire .357 magnum rounds
Guns that fire .44 magnum rounds
Guns that fire 5mm rounds
Guns that fire 5.56mm rounds
Guns that fire 9mm rounds
Guns that fire 10mm rounds
Guns that fire 12 gauge shotgun shell
Guns that fire 20 gauge shotgun shell
Energy weapons that use electron charge pack
Energy weapons that use flamer fuel
Energy weapons that use microfusion cell
Energy weapons that use microfusion breeder
Energy weapons that use energy cell
Explosives that fire 40mm grenades
Explosives that fire missiles
Explosives that fire mini nukes
Ammo is always required for all of these weapons, otherwise you just have a useless gun. Many stores in cities will have ammo readily supplied. Prices vary from store to store (with a high enough Barter skill, the prices can be lowered). However, not all stores will sell ammo for some of the more rare weapons, so best of luck obtaining that. Sometimes special events will yield what you need, so keep your eyes open for announcements. |

Weapon Mods Mods usually do a few things for your weapons. They increase ammo capacity, add scopes, improve weapon condition, increase damage, add silencers, decrease weight, etc. Weapon mods can be bought or traded, but they are not always in demand, and their numbers are quite limited. Sometimes stores will have special sales where you can buy mods, but quantity is small. Here's a list of all weapon mods that may appear in Montana. .357 magnum revolver
9mm pistol
10mm pistol
Hunting Rifle
Sniper Rifle
9mm SMG
10mm SMG
Hunting Shotgun
Minigun
Laser Rifle
Plasma Rifle
Flamer [*]Flamer expanded tanks - Increases mag capacity [/list] Grenade Rifle
Fat Man
Missile Launcher
