Kityan tore up the newspaper. What in God's right mind would a shifter create and alliance with the HUMANS!?!?! This is insane! Somebody needs to set this straight. Stomping around, the angry shifter started creating cruel ideas to end this insanity. This case was extraordinary. Too odd to be accepted by many. This dogma was the last thing Kityan needed. Another human-shifter petty alliance. When did politicians forget their history. Their honor. Their code.

If anything, the world would be with this peaceful idea. Sure, it would guarantee human friends, but this was just wrong. Peace, even if it was good, would not break tradition. It just wasn't accepted.

The warrior laid back on the large broadsword he carried about. He stabbed another piece of the article and threw it up in the wind. There will be the day he would assassinate them. There will be the day he would rule the world, and humans would be annihilated, so shifters could live in easy peace.

But the elves... We need to do something about the elves.

That would come latter. For now, his target was Cilam Quanou.

Kamui was relaxing now in a place where few besides him could get to. It was simply not a place that a human would be able to get to with such a limited air supply and he even had to shift to his dire wolf form to get to it. It was very high up and there was a very deep river that led from the cavern at the top of a mountain into an alcove and then out into a medow covered on all sides by very large rocks with a perfect open view of the sky. It was a new moon that night and he lay there on the grass simply enjoying the place.

Moments like these made him glad that he was a shifter. It didn't seem likely that he could ever forget his place like this. Shifters could have a greater appreciation for nature's beauty but as it stood, he didn't really care about that. Something had happened, he had met a human and a shifter who seemed to be allies. The concept seemed completely foreign to him but the thing that bothered him the most is that an alliance would cause the shifters to come out into the open... into the place where they would be easy prey for the humans. Could the shifters make an alliance with the elves? Surely that would wrest a majority of the power away from the humans but...

Kamui's thoughts drifted for hours as he thought bother about the shifter alliance and about what could be done to either stop the effort or make sure that it was iron clad. Something about this made him uneasy.

Kerythia had become the puppy of Kamui. Utterly lost, her master went up the slopes without her. Being a water creature, she had no ability at climbing, much less the ability to breath up there. With failing sight and qualms, she wandered distances throughout Orb'eno. He said he was going to come back, and Kerythia waited.

The girl had spotted the battered, battle-worn young man in the distance. He looked as if he was angry and she watched with wary eyes. Her memory sank back to her twin brother. Fiery, stubborn, and violent was how he played the game. He made some pretty bad choices years ago, but surely he would have changed now. Right at the moment, she was looking for him, 'twisting the seas' for him as they called it back home. She missed home right now.

With sudden actions, she skipped over to the warrior. Looking at his batter faced made her sad of how many wars were fought over the years.
"Do you need help, sir?"

Kamui felt he had been in his little retreat long enough and he slowly began his discension of the slope. He was going to see if Kery was alright as she had a knack for getting into trouble, and he swam leisurly down toward the one person he had ever allowed himself to get particularly close to. Once he reached the bottom the hair on his neck started to stand up. Something was wrong, something was off and he could smell it in the air. Urgency crept into his step and he stepped out of the water and shook dry before returning to human form, his hair now a mess as he sought out his only friend in the world.

Kamui whirled around, his broadsword up. He came to face a rather familiar figure, but he could not put a finger on it. Assuming it was from the resistance, he quickly sheathed the weapon. It would seem he was against the people, which was not what he wanted. In order to destroy government, you need the power of the citizens. Assault, no matter how much he savored it, was not the answer according to the plan. With a sloppy salute, he greeted the girl.
"Hello, there. Seems as if you are lost. What might your name be?"

Kerythia jumped and pulled out her harpoon gun. It would have been worthless if she hadn't jump, but if she did, her launch would have been fatal. Slowly, she put the gun away, flattered by the man's sudden kindness. Her apprehension slowly melted away and she curtsied. The man wasn't familiar, but his attitude reminded her of her father.
"I'm please to meet you, sir. I'm not that lost. My name is Kerythia, sir. Kerythia Shanling."

(wow... ignore the kamui part two posts above. I'm tired and I don't want to do this anymore sleep.gif;''')

Kityan blinked once. Twice. Trice. Kerythia. Shanling. The name turned on a deeply rooted rage that only ran in his veins. His once happy visage turned into one full of rage. His bloody sister stood in front of him, and he was as mad as a raging bull at their previous accounts.
"KERYTHIA! What the heck are you doing out here? I thought you were still a thief. I thought you were my sister back in the days! WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME? You said you were going to rule the world with me. NOW LOOK WHERE I AM! You fool! You pathersnapper! I vowed to kill you one day for your deeds. If they weren't so wrong, I wouldn't be angry! WHY?!?!?! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DO THAT." As he ranted on about their darkest secret, he pulled out his broadsword and made a wild cut at her neck.

Kerythia barely dodged the blow. "If I didn't do what I did, you would be blowing in the wind with a rope around your neck." But she knew in Kityan's rage she would be cut to smithereens. Kityan wasn't training to rule over humans for nothing. In fact, she was pretty sure that her brother matcher the skills of her friend. Kerythia regretted even putting the idea in his head.

Kityan started slashing at the limbs. He cut through his sister's arm and legs, leaving her kneeling on the ground in pain. Time to finish it off for once. He aimed an downward cut that would lop off one's head.

Kamui found her just in the knick of time and he was in just the right form for the occasion too. He charged headlong toward the person she was fighting. He saw her go down and he saw the blade raised to make the final strike when he at last stood there in his human form, scythe in his left hand and katana in his right. A feral growl escaped his lips and his eyes were those of a wolf.
"Don't you dare touch her!" He roared, his wolf side comming out a bit in his voice which seemed to have two different simultaneous tones. He was in his battle stance, the katana in his right hand which usually held the scythe made it so he could swing his blade with much greater speed, while the scythe presented the ultimate in defensive radius. This was the Shiro family weapon style. No one but Kamui knew about it because those who had seen it were all dead. Today, this one would die and Kery would now know. For a second, a thought crossed his mind. "I guess it's ok if she becomes a shiro." He thought to himself, even though everyone else knew his last name to be Dakinaru.

Kerythia put up a hand to stop Kamui. She gave him a warning glance.

Kityan stared at this newcomer. He had the sleek look of the assassins that came and went through the Tower. The scythe and katana were most likely trademark. But, for her to pick up a boyfriend? That was as impossible as a shifter marrying a human. He turned quickly to Kerythia.
"He's with you?" His sister nodded. He stared at both of them before bursting out in laughter.

Kerythia turned a bright red to the cheeks and stared down. She knew her reputation and gaming problem ruined her love life, though she was to occupied by playing half the time. But, she felt something deep for Kamui, something more than a friendship. A love she couldn't explain to him. He saved her life multiple times, so that put in some credit. The girl tried to get up, but something creaked in her leg and the pain became overwhelming.

Kityan barely noticed his sister. He could cripple both of them if he killed the man. He gave another smirk before wheeling out his own blade. A gigantic broadsword was held in his right hand, with a short sword to balance out the blade. There were several other types of weapons hidden about his body that he doubt this strange man would notice. With everything prepared, he expertly lunged at his head, hoping that he would protect himself.

Kamui noticed the style. One large sword with a smaller short sword. It was similar to his in a way but the heavy weapon was in the offhand for Kamui and he dropped the second the blade went for his head, expertly spinning beside the man and standing behind him and then lashing out with his scythe. It was a pretty standard move, change the favor of balance and then strike. Any assassin of B rank or higher would be known to try something like that but what Kamui had not noticed during his analysis of his opponent, was that Kery was trying to warn him. What would she be warning him of though? The fact that she'd seen him fight before was enough and he was more than prepared to use his best techniques against this new foe.

Kerythia looked at the battle wildly. Family or friend? Brother or lover? Who was going to win? She was terrified at what she had done. But, the girl could not make a sound and the pain in her limb was driving her crazy. A broken heart would be at the end of this battle. A very broken heart.

Kityan smiled ruefully as he swung the blade around, just in the nick of time to catch the scythe. He had watched these assassins practice on the fields enough to know the move. What he really was worried about was the assassin's own style. Notably, these 'generation' moves were used in times of killing, and he did not want to see one of those today. The blade on the ground was favorable, though. He quickly flipped it up with his foot and sheathed his own short sword. From that position, the man dived into a fiery attack. He ruthlessly slashed place to place.

Kamui blocked with the scythe, sliding and spinning it from side to side, above and below as he parried blows seemingly from all directions. Whoever this guy was, he was not a novice and that put Kamui on edge a little more. Then it happened, an opening, somthing even he left from time to time, and he grinned as he threw his katana spinning up into the air and kicked hard for the man's chest, simultaneously leaning back just as his sword stuck into the ground. With that, he hit the ground hard with the pole of his scythe and kicked up, doing a flip and then landing low to the ground in a crouched position with both scythe and sword in hand once more. It was a tactic he would only be able to use once but he had hoped it would buy him a second of time. With little thought, he placed the scythe in front of him with the head resting on the ground so the pole was across his torso and drew his katana in a cresent arc to his side, resting on the part of the pole that was elevated and the blade pointing at his assailent. He remembered his training from long ago. The three rules of the assassin were still fresh in his mind.
Precognative thinking: Predict your opponent's moves before they made them
Dissolution: Dissolve into darkness and deaden your breathing
Endscape: strike from nowhere and destroy your opponent before they even knew you were there. The first rule wouldn't be a problem, the second and third rules however, had been thrown away and he had no tricks that would probably make them more viable. With that he simply kept his position and waited.

Kityan was sent flying through the air. He had been taught to train with these assassins, and he knew his timing was deeply off. They all attacked in a certain pattern, and he would be sure to find this man's. As he saw the man waiting, he smiled. Kamui was in the correct range for his perfect weapon. He swiftly drew out his long sword while putting away the broadsword. Slowly, he pulled out an assault rifle and fired away, bullets ripping through the air.

Kerythia gave out a shout of worry. "Kamui!" Great gods above, protect him please!

Kityan had totally forgotten about his 'sister'. A cruel grin came to his mouth. The beaver threw back his rifle. He had another pistol, which he pulled out slowly and aimed to Kerythia. He knew her leg was broken, which prevented the obvious escape.
"Stand now, or I'll shoot. Now tell me your business here!"

The moment the gun came out Kamui completely snapped. It was a problem of his and his scythe and sword were resheathed in seconds as he simultaneously spun and kicked up dirt, dodging the bullets by a fraction of an inch but getting grazed across the shoulder with one. His eyes changed to those of his wolf form and he drew his guns from inside his coat. A huge roar ripped through the area and he fired off three shots, two from his offhand gun and one from his main gun as he launched himself forward. Kamui was no longer the calm and collected assassin, he was now Kamui the raging mass killing machine.
The rush took him straight into melee range with the opponent and his melee gun was very much weighted on the bottom for bashing. In this moment he was going to use it as such and he reared back to smash this kityan person's wrist, while his offhand gun fired off yet another shot.

That's why he took the caution of caring a long sword. The wolf went too fast for him, so he couldn't shoot Kery, but he could block. The sword slowly traveled to his right hand as he spun to dodge the first and blocked the third. As Kamui came closer, he made quick little motions with his long sword, trying to splice through the fur that adorned his opponent's body. The gun seemed to come out of no where and he dropped the sword. That stung. Then, he heard the gun shot and everything went into slow motion. The bullet passed right in front of his eyes and he tried to dodge it. Instead of going through his stomach, it hit him in the side. Kityan started swearing. Blood gushed out of the wound, and the shifter stumbled backwards, clutching his stomach.

Kerythia watched in horror as the duel between lover and brother grew worse. When the guns were thrown out, she gave an inward cry of terror. Kityan was deadly, but Kamui was a monster. She couldn't bare it. As the battle whittled down to this, she knew she had to do something. This would be Kityan's breaking point, like she broke him so long ago over such an inconsequential thing. She stood up, ignoring the pain, and stumbled over to the dire wolf. There, she buried her face into Kamui.
Please stop, Kamui. Please...
