Ahhh... the Aqueta... The otter girl sighed as she kicked water on the shallow banks of the large river. She was in the part where the water flowed the slowest, she had forgotten the name of that part a long time ago. It was also the part where, five years ago, she had washed the laundry seven times a day, 5 days a week, all month with no breaks. It was the part of the river where, fiver years ago, she had met the mysterious wolf shifter named Cilam. The warm memories came flooding back into her mind. She didn't know if anyone was listening, but she started singing again, looking up at the warm summer sun.
"Light that shines so bright, This lovely winters night. Gives the traveler light around, so he could look to see, and hear as the owls give a sound."
She paused, smiling because people probably would start thinking she was crazy. Of course, she was singing that winter lullaby in the middle of a summer's day.
"Stars shine, as the night goes on, Giving beauty to the skies above. The night passes, and you wish, wish that it would come again soon."

The Aqueta river was as clear as ever. Cilam walked along the river bank again, just as he was used to do a few years back. He remembered meeting many people, some shifters, some not, some a little crazy, some cheerful, but it could never grow old. He loved the river. In his childhood he had come here to read and study for this was one of the few places humans and shifters did not come that often. Some called it the "River Of Peace", because no one remembers anything bad happening there. Unfortunately for Cilam, because of his studies and some encounters, he had stopped calling the river by its so called given name.
As Cilam walked by the familiar river bank, he came across another familiarity. A song, and from a voice he recognized. He looked in the direction of the tune and smiled. Kerythia, one of the people he had met by this river, and one of the people he could actually have a descent conversation, if you would count singing a few tunes a "conversation". As she finished her song he stopped behind her. Looking at the sun high above, he took a fiddle out of his backpack and struck a tune.
The sun that shines so bright, who even gives us our might, the sun that lights up our day, and kisses us with its grace.
This short but beautiful tune made Cilam smile, it had been long since the last time he had come here to sing and play a tune.

Kerythia jumped at the sound of the violin, before whirling around. Her gaze wandered upon a familiar face, which stared back at her. She gave a huge smile, one she hadn't given in quite a number of years. If it was some coincidence, it was a rare one. She closed her eyes and smiled as she hummed the tune with him. As it ended, she longed for more, but that could wait. The last time she did this, it went on for a couple of hours.
Instead of singing, she smiled and said, "Long time, no see, eh? How are you doing, Cilam?"
With that, she broke out into song. "I may not be your lover, but I am your friend, so remember when I say this. I am always there for you, no matter what."

Kery's voice was as sweet as it was back then. He smiled and closed his eyes as he listened to her song. Before he knew, he was started playing the violin as she sang. As she finished, Cilam looked at the sun, which was high in the sky, and said. "I am fine as ever Kerythia, the days have been good since our last encounter." The young Cilam looked at Kery who still sat at the river bank and smiled. He closed his eyes once again for a second, then suddenly. "Now I remember." With those words he started playing the violin.
Dancing winds of the far-off land, I beg thee to take me with, So I can see the many wonders, the many wonders that fill our world.
Let me fly besides the clouds, bathing in sunlight and singing this song.
It was an old song that he had forgotten, but the lyrics had come back to him after a little thinking. He played his violin for a wile longer as he finished his song.

She kept her eyes close, since Cilam's voice was as smooth as velvet. The song rolled through her memory, sweeping the broad plains that surrounded her village, skimming along the waves that lanced through the Aqueta, or leaping the waterfall that she was ever so fond of. His violin playing was one of a kind, simple and sweet and homely. She knew the ancient tune very, very well, as it was her mother's favorite.
Speaking of family, as the song ended, her mind drifted back to her brother. He yelled something about going to Alveno City before he took blows at Kamui and her. She was wondering if he ever made it to the city. Cilam would now.
It was long after the song ended when she spoke. "Have there been any attacks against the Human-Shifter alliance back in Alevno? Any attacks against the leaders there, like yourself? Or killings of humans, all ending with a sword in the gut?" After all, Kityan does take after Father, so he must have his signature moves...

Her question did surprise him a little, since he didn't expect her to ask about the alliance. He frowned as he spoke. "Yes, there have. There was one who I fought, but he didn't feel my shifter blood until later in our battle. It was not one of my best moment's, since I wasn't able to prevent him to do any more harm than he had already done." A little depressed, Cilam looked her in the eyes and continued. "Even though humans or shifters dislike the alliance, they do not have to go out and kill every human or shifter they see."
Cilam sat down next to Kery just as he finished speaking. Closing his eyes, he lies down and takes a long breath. "Some just do not understand the hard work of others, and the reasons behind their actions." Those where the last words he said before he opined his eyes.

She dwelled on those words, taking in her brethen's rage. Particularly her brother's actions. She couldn't blame him. The hatred in humans from her family ran strong through their blood. Her brother had taken after her father quite well, attacking the head of business. This ruined her clear day, and she went back to humming the tune they just played. She broke into song later.
"So what have you been up to, lately? Singing old tunes, or doing something more boring?"

Cilam looked at her and sat up again. "Well, Being the one who kind formed the Alliance, I've been dragged around by Shifter and human Councilors to aid in the communication between the two races. Really, I don't think they realize that though I may be filled with loads of Old knowledge and wisdom that others do not know about, that I am only eighteen winters old, all this work is too much pressure on me." After a big sight, he smiled and looked at the river. "But I guess It hasn't been all that bad, I've even started writing my own tunes in my spare time, Which was why I came here to day."
The wind touched his face and cooled him. He looked at Kery once again and said. "Where things may seem bad, they can be good." As he said that he laughed a little and lay back down.

(sorry it's so short) "You sound extremely busy, Cilam." She smiled while leaning back to stare up at the clouds drifting by. Sitting in silence, it dawned on her how much they had changed over the years. And how much Cilam had bloomed from a young wolf pup to a world hero. "You said something about making new songs. Let's hear it!"

Cilam laughed and replied. "If something, busy is the right word to describe it." He stood up and took his violin with him. He placed the violin on his shoulder for a wile and then said. "Well, I guess this one should be okay." With that he started playing.
Visitors of the night, share the light that shines from the moon. Show me the world, that only you can see.
The moons reflection, is seen in the river, as we float on its surface, and gives our hearts light.
As he finished, he took a deep breath, lay the violin aside and said. "I hope you liked it."

Kery looked up at him with joy. This was the first new thing she had in a long time. "That was beautiful, Ciliam. Absolutely beautiful." She laid back in silence, her corn-braids mingled in with the grass. The water lapped across the bank. Somehow she had a song in the back of her mind, but it was just a bunch of notes. The came and went and her mind fell on other problems. "So, what brings you here to the Aqueta on this blessed day."

He took a long breath before he decided to answer. "To get some peace and time to rest I guess, I haven't had time to rest or do anything else than work for the past weeks, so coming here was my escape route." He said and laughed. He stretched his hands towards the sky and then, let them fall back down. "The river is the best place to be when one is tired." He added to his previous statement. "What about you? What brings you here today?" He asked Kery.

She nodded, agreeing to his every word. "It is a relaxing place. Not to mention, where everything seems to start." She looked at him in surprise, raising an eyebrow and smiling. "Don't you know, Tyro? Us water-folk need to bath every other two hours. I mainly came here for a swim and to brush my hair. I also am here for the same reason you are. Relaxation."
She raised her gaze back up to the heavens, watching the clouds drift over the lake. She started whistling a tune before turning her gaze towards the man. "Wanna go for a swim?"

A little surprised by her question, he replied. "If you can stand the smell of a wet dog after wards." He laughed and stood up. He removed his jacked and weapons and jumped into the water. "The water feels great."

Kerythia giggled as she saw him stripping. "Getting a little naughty, eh?" With that, she took off all her jackets, weapons, and shirts, leaving her in a camo and shorts. She hopped in after him, laughing aloud. After touching the bottom and coming back up, she started splashing him playfully.
