The first three-day weekend of the Summer, and what are you up to?

Barbecue?

Picnic?

Go fishing?

Fireworks?

Parades?

Sit in the shade with your feet in a beer cooler?

Veteran memorial services?

Your church switches to Summer Services, VBS, tank tops and shorts?

Mow the lawn?

Sunburn?

Two words that strike fear in the hearts of all Americans--Pool Party

I don't know what we're going to do.

Probably, nothing.

It's been crazy, crazy for Tex lately at work (and before that, school).
We'll probably just stay home and rest.

My Fireman will be on duty on Memorial Day. The crew has a barbecue planned at the fire boat house, and watch the Indy 500. It rarely works out that way: a lot of people like to barbecue, too...by setting their porch or garage on fire. It's usually a busy weekend of scorched siding, melted patio furniture, and untended briquettes.

I'm in Blackpool, England for the dance festival until June 1. The American dancers have a prayer service and breakfast before the competition on May 28th. We invite a retired Anglican priest (He is an attendee at the dance festival) to speak, and he's delightful.

I would love to sit in the shade with my feet in a beer cooler.

Well, enjoy England and enjoy the festival, Belle!

Blackpool is my favorite competitions, and the Winter Garden is an excellent facility: One of the best permanent dance floors in the world.

The British are celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and the Summer Olympics this summer. There are so many events, parades, concerts, and commemorations, the country is swaddled in Union Jack bunting. The Queen and Royal Family are touring the country, wearing fancy hats and thanking the crowds. It's quite a show.
