Rules of the Board

We have not had a rules of the board post in a while, mainly becuase I forgot to add it when we moved forums in a hurry.

There are not many rules that we ask people to follow as mostly we expect common sense from

everyone involved but here they are:

1) No-one can post in the IC sections of the board without first creating a character and having it approved by the referees. Characters are created the same as for a live game and a background is required. You do not need to have actually played the character at a live event but you still have to provide details to the referees. All posts in the IC section must be in character.

2) Everyone can post in the OOC sections and should feel free to use them.

3) No spam or adverts unless approved with the referees beforehand

4) There can be no combat in the IC sections of the board. This is not to say that two people could not arrange to have a duel or punch up on the board but that would require agreement from both parties beforehand but characters cannot die on the board.

5) You cannot answer for or tell another character how to react nor use abilities that effect another character directly. For example you could say you cast a spell that surrounds a player with a wall of fire as it does not effect him directly. You could not however use a spell that knocks the target back or forces the target to react.

Equally you can say that you grab hold of a character but you cannot say you drag him along. The reason for this is becuase you do not know the skills and abilities of the other characters and dont know how they will react to your action.

However, the referees may choose to override this rule if they feel the need but they will do this only under very specific circumstances.

6) If you see characters doing something you feel they should not be able to or using knowledge you feel they could not possess. Please contact either Filmy Ref or Omnipotent Overlord with your suspicions and we will look in to it. Do not contact the character and question what they can/cannnot do or do or dont know becuase you cannot know for certain whether they are in the right or wrong and this can create arguments. Please let the referees deal with such situation.

Ok after having done some thinking and looking at the boad dynamics there are a couple of extra rules that we feel will help make the board work more smoothly.

1) A character can be in only one "In Character" thread at any one time. This means if you are in the inn you cant post in the smithy untill you have posted your character has left the inn.

2) Please dont post for the NPC characters. There are some assumptions its safe to make such as if you ask for a beer then you will get servered by the barman even if the NPC does not post to say he gives it to you. However beyond that please leave NPC actions to the refs please.
