01. Respect
So Faded Echoes has to have some ground rules to keep everything peaceful. Let’s start off with being respectful, to all members, mods and the admins. Everyone has opinions but they need to be voiced appropriately. No fighting in the chatbox or harassing anyone. If you’re worried about someone replying to a thread, kindly send them a PM to remind them. But keep it polite and be considerate that people do have other things going on for them.

02. Word Count
FE has a minimal word count of 400. It’s not too difficult to aim for this. When posting with your character, describe the things going on around them. Imagine yourself in their shoes, use their senses and the way they are feeling. In no time you’ll see that you’ve met or exceeded this and you’ve learned more about your character and have developed a more dimensional character.
For show canons, we expect the characters to be portrayed as they are depicted in the show. In order for us to see that you have a grasp on the character and are capable of describing them as they should be, we require a minimum of 450 words for show canon posts.


03. Registering
When you register or join, please use your characters first name and last name, an example would be John Smith. Middle names aren’t necessary, but can be used. After creating your characters name, post in the applications. An admin will approve, deny or tell you what needs to be worked on for your character to be approved. Once the admin has accepted your characters bio, then you may post face claims, shipping pages and etc. Do not post anywhere else with the account until you have been approved by an Admin.
You have 3 days for Original characters to start or complete an application upon creating an account. If you have not posted an app in pending by the 3rd day, your account will be deleted. From there, you have 3 days to finish the application before it will be moved to the dead sea.
You have 3 days for a canon character upon creating the account to start and finished a completed app.


04. Face Claim & Activity
As for Face Claims, if it’s on the list, we apologize but it looks like someone else got to that pretty face first. Unless there are twins, you can not have that face. Ask around in the cbox or on a board for possible other playbys, there are always more options. If the person using your desired playby has been absent for a while, ask an admin and someone will make the decision on whether or not to open the playby up. If it is a Canon character, keep in mind that they are vital to the plot and to keep the story going. If you don’t believe you will be active with the character and have not posted that for some reason you will be away, another active member could claim a canon. We'll give you a week or so for canons and send an email. A warning will be issued first or a designated timeframe will be set, just try to remain active, with all characters including canons. As for canons, you may only have 2 canons total. This includes original canons as well as show canons. Admins may override this rule if they believe the situation is appropriate.

For all characters: If your account has not been logged into for a month but you have other accounts that are active, we will send you a warning to post with that account within a week. If there is no post or log in, the account will be deleted. If no accounts or your single account has not been logged into for a month, it will be deleted without a warning sent out.

05. Perfection
Do not god mode or control other characters that do not belong to you. Your character is not perfect and will not land every blow or dodge all attempts of an attack from another. You can’t kill another character off without approval first from the person who uses the character. Keep in mind once your character is dead… They aren’t coming back. Think wisely about making a choice like this.


06. Mature
Faded Echoes will have mature content, anything that can happen in real life could happen here. This includes drugs, language, sex and other mature themes. Some members may not care to read all of that however, so if you know it will mature please state so in the title or sub title, or label it with an “M”. This doesn’t mean that we want to see every character is pregnant or something brutally traumatizing has happened to them, but keep in mind it is mature and things can tend to get dark.


07. Battling for Canons
Battling may be requested for certain characters (IE: Elena). If you are interested in applying, you will have three days to post an application or your account will be denied. After that set amount of time, you will lose your shot at battling for that character. If you don't know how that works, the character is open until an application is submitted. Other people may submit applications until that character is taken. So here is an example:
Player A wants Bob. Player B also wants Bob. Both players submit an application. Player B has the better application/RP sample. Player B gets Bob.

08. Cbox
No advertising in the CBOX! No harassing members! PM them if you're having issues, because we don't want to see that in our box. (The Secret Code is Mufasa) If these rules are not followed, we will not hesitate to ban you from the cbox immediately and possibly the site. There are also to be NO spoilers in the cbox.


09. Age Restriction
Characters (including vampires, werewolves, witches, were-animals) over 700 will not be accepted unless they are a canon. No characters will be made under the age of 17.
If you want to create a witch, werewolf, hybrid, or wereanimal that is over the age of a normal human being, please run it by the Admin first and let it be known why you would like to do this.


10. Signature & Avatar
Signatures are not mandatory, but when you have, they are not to larger then 500 in width and 300 in height.
Avatars are mandatory, they are not to be larger than 200 x 300.


11. Character Limit
There is no character limit, aside from not having more than 2 canons at the same time. Do not take on more characters than you can handle.
There is a 2:1 ratio. For every 2 females, a male must be made.
