i walked across and empty landi knew the pathway like the back of my hand i felt the earth beneath my feet sat by the river and it made me complete oh simple thing, where have you gone? i'm getting old and i need something to rely onAlice was looking through her carry-on bag making sure she had everything for about the 10th time. But really she was just looking for a distraction from Caleb. While it was not the first time she was leaving the country it was the first time she had a boyfriend while doing so, and that boyfriend had decided to take her to the airport. It was a cute gesture but really, Alice would have much rather taken a cab. This would mean that instead of saying goodbye the night before and leaving while Caleb was still sleeping she would have to have the goodbye extend a longer way. ‘’I’m all set.’’ She told Caleb. It was only 3 am but she had not slept anyway so of course she was ready. ‘’If you want I can really take a cab. It`s not the first time I`ve had to travel you know I will be fine.’’ She told him for what probably was the 50th time since he had told her he was taking her. For the first time, Alice was anxious to leave someone behind. It was not that she had not cared about her family when she had left them behind before but it was different. This was Caleb and she knew she was going to miss him more than she wanted to admit. And it was not something she liked. She did not enjoy missing people. Of course no one did enjoy it. You are the best thing,Caleb had spent most of the night and most of the morning sitting up with Alice, watching as she walked backwards and forwards checking her bag over and over again, while he made coffee after coffee in order to keep them both awake. He could tell that she was agitated by something and even though he would normally think that she had a fear of flying, he knew that Alice had flown on numerous occasions and she was fine when they had flown to London. The way she constantly insisted that she could get a cab gave him a huge clue as to what was making her anxious.‘’I’m all set. If you want I can really take a cab. It`s not the first time I`ve had to travel you know I will be fine.’’ Caleb grabbed her bag and looked at her as he shook his head. He walked over to her and he wrapped his arm around her wist before pulling her closer to him. "No cab" he simply said as he looked down at her and gave her a firm kiss, as if to tell her to stop trying to get out of it. He broke the kiss and smirked, "I'm taking you and that's it" he said as he let her go. He left Alice's apartment and got them both into the car along with Alice's bags.If he was honest, he was nervous about Alice leaving, because he knew he'd miss her. He always had a fear of people leaving him ever since his mother and Aubrey left him. He just had to trust that Alice would come back. Getting into the car he turned the radio on low before he started heading off towards the airport. "Are you excited to spend time with your sisters in Russia?" he asked, trying to make the car journey as normal as possible. He didn't want her to know that he really didn't want her to leave, but she had to go and he'd be back here waiting for her to come back again. She really did not want to think about it because she was pretty sure the number would be a lot higher than she would like. It would mean she would spend the better part of her flight in the bathroom which was not something she wanted to do. But it was too late now and she figured she might as well keep going with the way she was now. Beside it gave her something else to do other than checking her bags over and over again. When she told him, she would take a cab, she knew he would not agree but instead of hearing him telling her again that he was driving her, Caleb took the time to kiss her and Alice felt herself melting into that kiss. But soon he broke it off reminded her that he was indeed taking her and before she could complain her bags were in the car and she was following behind. Caleb always had a way of getting her to end up doing what he wanted most of them time she would fight him for a long time before giving in but right now she felt too exhausted to do such a thing.Once they were in the car, she could feel the awkward silence taking over, another reason why she had not wanted him to drive her there, she did not want to have to deal with silence. Alice was glad when he decided to speak first. “Yeah it has been so long since the last time we all travelled together and that was with our parents so it clearly is not the same thing.” She sighed. “Of course that is if we managed to get Gabe to agree to let Lily go. Can you believe he is still not agreeing to this? She is not 12 years old anymore she can make her decision herself.” She added shaking her head. Alice just could not understand the reason behind Gabe’s decision and she could not understand why her sister was not leaving anyway. THANK YOU, FOX!

You are the best thing,As Caleb kissed Alice, he could feel her anxiety die off a little, but they had to get going so he broke the kiss before grabbing her bag. It was so obvious that something was bothering her and he hated that it was him who was making her anxious, but he wasn't going to let her have her way and allow her to grab a cab, so he couldn't say goodbye to her properly. Even though Caleb was a jerk at times, he was still a gentleman and whether it was Aubrey or Violet for instance he'd do exactly the same. Cab's should be used as a last resort, at least in his opinion.The beginning of the car journey was awkward but he was pleased that once he asked if she was excited about going to Russia with her sisters, the conversation seemed to flow rather easily. When she mentioned that it wouldn't be the same because they weren't travelling with their parents, Caleb gave a sympathetic smile. Caleb had never had that with his parents, he hardly remembered any of the times where his parents had taken him and Aubrey out and they all ended up having fun. One of them were usually miserable. When he heard, however, that Alice's sister's boyfriend, Gabe, wasn't letting Lily go to Russia, he frowned and alarm bells started going off in his head. "Why's he not letting her go?, What's he worried about?" he asked. Should Caleb stop Alice going too? Did Gabe know something he didn't? Lots of things crossed his mind and all he wanted to do was turn around and lock Alice in her apartment and not let her go. He knew, however, that, that would result in him and Alice arguing and he didn't want that. Weighing up the two scenarios, he reluctantly continued driving towards the airport. This was her job and she should have been okay with it. It was just that leaving someone behind, someone like Caleb was harder than she would have expected. She had not really been in a relationship since college so this was a first for her. And it was the first test. If they could not deal with her being away for two weeks, it was obvious that they would be over and would need to move on to something else. It was one of the reasons why she had not wanted to get involved with anyone. The heartache was not worth it or least that was what she used to think. Now she was not so sure if that was the way she was supposed to see things right now. It would be great for the Carlton/Stark sisters to be all together without their parents, it would be the first time they had done such a thing and she knew they were going to have fun. Of course now that Gabe was not letting Lily go things were not looking so bright. Sianna and Em could go but it would not be the same. Alice laughed as she heard the reaction from Caleb. I wanted to call him but I did not have the time. I just don’t get it, I mean you don’t see a problem with me going, why should he freak out. You are the best thing,Caleb and Alice had been inseparable lately and that was all new for him. He liked having his own space, but Alice seemed to make it impossible to enjoy any time alone without her. He missed her attitude and the playful fights and debates they had. He missed her nagging and generally feeling close to her. He hadn't expected to feel this way about Alice so soon, it had only been just over a month since they had decided to turn whatever it was they were going through into a relationship, though Caleb couldn't help but fell like he had been with her for much longer. He was glad that Alice had kissed him on the way home that night from the bar and that he opened his mouth and told her what she had done, because if he kept it to himself, this would have never happened.Caleb wasn't sure how he was going to deal with Alice being away for two weeks, but they'd agreed to stay in contact and he was hopeful that it wouldn't cause too much of a strain on their relationship. He really didn't want to lose Alice because of his overprotective behaviour. Right now, after hearing that Gabe wasn't letting Alice go, he couldn't help but have a fight inwardly with himself about letting Alice go, what was Gabe so concerned about and should he be concerned too? “He is not letting her go because he is a mean meanie. But he nodded when she said about Gabe not liking the idea of his girlfriend being away. "Now, that, I can sympathise with" he smirked. "If I didn't think you'd hate me, you would be locked in your apartment right now and not going anywhere" he said seriously, "However, I know that you'll be fine and that you'll be back in two weeks" he smiled, though a small twinge tugged in the back of his mind with 'what if's' appearing inside of his mind. He didn't want to deal with those thoughts so he tried to push them away.“Sianna is working on getting him to agree. I wanted to call him but I did not have the time. "Whatever happens, you'll have fun, I know you will, so cheer up!" he smiled before climbing out of the car and grabbing Alice's bags. Now with Caleb it was apparently impossible. For some reason she felt like she needed to be with him at all time. And she loved and hated it all at the same time. But then again apparently it was the way everything was with Caleb, love/hate. They would fight like no other and yet they had something special. Alice was not ready to call it love because it was all so soon and she had no idea how one would know you were in love. What gave it away? How did you know when you loved someone? It was something that she had never felt before and she had no idea how she was supposed to know those things. But as people said, you just knew… so she figured she would have to wait until that revelation actually hit her. What in the world did people do before Skype? Alice was thankful that they would have a way of communication other than the phone or letters. She would at least be able to see him, though that might make the matter worst because she would see him and not be able to touch him and she was not sure how she would cope with that. Perhaps they had gotten together too fast and had not really though things through. Of course now that it was all said and down she was not about to back down but she was still terrified for getting her heart crushed. Of course she was mad at Gabe for holding Lily back and she could not understand why he would do such a thing. It was not like Lily would be leaving forever, she would come back and still be in love with him after that. He was not about to lose her or something like that. It was silly. “Sympathise all you want but don’t you dare to try and lock me anywhere Wallace you won’t live to tell the tale.” She told him half joking and half serious. This was her job, it was something he had to understand. “Of course I will be fine and I will be back in two weeks. It’s not the first time I’ve travelled and I always was fine.” She said shaking her head. “ I don’t think there is anything to say. Emma wanted to kidnap Lily to bring her with us but I mean it’s not like Gabe owns Lily and if she decides to follow what he tells her it’s on her.” But Alice was a bit worried about the whole reasoning behind it. When she came back she planned on having a talk with her sister to get to the bottom of it. Perhaps she was being paranoid but something did not sit right with any of this. “Of course I will.” She told him giving a half smile and walking out of the car before taking his hand and leading the way inside the airport. “I have to check my luggage in and then we can do the whole waiting in line so they can check my passport game.” She proposed. “Unless of course you want to leave now.”THANK YOU, FOX!

Lily would still be here once she got back and if need be, Caleb could check in on her and perhaps introduce himself to her for the first time. Caleb had never met any of his ex girlfriends family before and he thought himself pretty lucky to not have met anyone but Katalina so far and she seemed to like to try and throw her weight around if she could, she reminded him of an angry little chipmunk when she got annoyed at something...you know, the smarter one out of chip 'n' dale? She did not know why she had not made any move for them too all meet together. But she had no heard Caleb complain about it and she figured that eventually they could all get dinner together. Something to work on when she came back from Russia assuming that she would stay in town long enough. She was really doing this. She was really getting ready to travel the world and leave him behind. Sianna had told her that long term relationships rarely work but perhaps this one could work actually. And beside it was not like she was moving away she was just travelling a lot, and often and far from home but her home was still here. “Fine then I will find some other way to make your life miserable, you know I can easily do it.” She pointed out with a smirk. “you really have to bring that night up again?” she sighed. “it was just one time, it’s not like a have a tendency of getting drunk and kissing bartenders and throwing myself at the person that is trying to take me home, and trying to throw myself out of a moving vehicle.” So that night? Alice was a very confident person and to someone who didn't know anything about her or what she was like, it must have been terrifying to have her lunge herself at you. She knew he did not mean it, but it was nice to be able to tease and play with him like that, something she could not do with everyone. But with Caleb everything was different and simple, at least for now. Of course things could easily change with the whole being away from each other thing, but she was sure they could make it work. “while I’m sure it was very memorable for you, we can totally try and forget out it.” She knew she had never been good with Tequila and that after 3 shots of the stuff things could only get ugly. And now every time she went to that bar the bartender would look at her very weird. Not that she could really blame him, she had threw herself at him.
