Some people, confused the living dung out of her. She didn't understand why they did some things, why they said other ones. Most of the time, she didn't care to understand it either. Now there, as she watched running his hand over his face, apologizing and then breathing to seemingly calm himself, Katherine was oddly interested in everything he did. Okay, maybe it wasn't all that odd, since everything this boy had ever done had always caught her eye. But...she was just wanting to know now more then ever, because they were here, and talking.

Well, arguing, and she was mad at him, so it wasn't like she was going to up and ask him why he kept taking breaths like he did. "Alright, apology accepted," she muttered, still not planning on giving into smiling. She didn't even have a lick of an urge to smile.

And it wasn't becuase she was offended, not anymore at least. Now, she was just feeling shocked. The touch of his fingers to her lips was still there, her stomach twisting in knots from the thought of it. And as she watched him, his comment about her not being flattering slipping out easily, and lightly, she looked down for a moment.

And as she looked back up, his expression seemed to have changed completely. She usually did smile, and though she did feel as she'd said, she hadn't meant much by them. Just...what he didn't understand, was that she was too flooded with memories of him right now, to think of smiling. She missed him too much at the moment, to do anything but sulk about having lost him. There wasn't anything happy about what she was thinking.

Not even the example he did give her. She wasn't expecting him to kiss her. How could she be? She didn't kiss girls like her, he kissed girls like Kaia. And he definitely, didn't kiss her. But, he was now, and she felt everything inside of her light to fire, in that one small touch of his lips. He pulled away too soon for her, and she had a small urge to pull him back to her. To take more. For once, the chase after him openly. Instead, she just settled for lowing her eyes to her legs, her heart beat skipping around madly. "I still don't feel much like smiling, Zabini."

He was just messing with her anyway. It didn't mean anything. He was just trying to get her to smile, and for a guy like Aaron, that was his way of making a girl grin. Every girl but her, apparently.

Aaron found himself grinning even if Katherine absolutely refused to. That kiss, however soft and brief it had been, had been astounding. Aaron had kissed dozens of girls, but he'd never felt that odd wave of tingles, that surge of complete adrenaline at the mere touch of her lips. It was amazing and he didn't really understand it, but it was making him grin nonetheless.

Licking his lips, Aaron chuckled as he heard Kate's practically sullen tone. As he shook his head at her, Aaron rolled his eyes. "Fine, fine, Kittycat, suppress that smile all you'd like." He teased, his normal playful arrogance shining through as he leaned his head back on the wall. "But, if you ever have the desire to kiss me again, you're going to have to smile for me beforehand and admit that you liked it." He teased with a devilish smirking grin.

Oh, yes, he was one arrogant bastard, but after years of being conditioned to be just that way, after years of too much attention from girls, Aaron had slight reason to be overly confident with himself. He'd hardly even noticed that he'd just mentioned the possibility of kissing Kate in the future. After that wonderful kiss, it just seemed like it was something that was bound to happen, despite the oddness that might ensue. Hell, if he didn't think she'd run away he'd probably kiss her again right then. "Well, if that didn't make you smile, then what exactly do you think would? I'm willing to try anything to get you to stop brooding, I hate brooding, it lowers my mood and that's never any fun." Aaron insisted with a low chuckle and a roll of his dark eyes.

Maybe she did feel like smiling, but it was a very distant, very subtle feeling. Barely noticeable. And the only reason she could possibly want to, other then the fact that those few brief moments were completely amazing, was that she had been looking to kiss him since she was close to seven. That was a long time coming, if you asked her subconscious. Luckily, she wasn't asking.

As the shock slid further away, Katherine's frown settled back on her lips, just as easily as he'd knocked it off. She was, unexpectedly, good at being broody. It wasn't her, not nearly. She was all smiles when she could be. She enjoyed being friendly, opposed to setting a damper on everyone's mood with her frowns. Right now though, she felt that she was brooding just to spite him. Well, that and the fact that he had broken her eleven-year old heart all those years ago, and now seemed to find it something to joke around with.

Kittycat, whatever.

"I happen to enjoy brooding, so your services are not needed. I'm sure there some girl, in some other place, that would very happily enlist in taking them, but not me. Brooding, and Katherine Nott? They go arm-in-arm." Not really, but what did he know? Wasn't like he hung around her enough to really know how she was anymore. "Besides, you seem chipper enough for both of us, Zabini." He really was all smiles and charming grins today. Anyone seeing them from the outside looking in, would suspect it to be the other way around. He looked the part of the broody bad boy, and she fit the smiling, pretty girl to a tee. But, looks didn‘t always tell the story.
