There have been myths involving the undead for years. However, most people deem them just that - myths. Little do they know that these creatures roam the Earth freely. Muggles have even gone so far as to depict them (inaccurately) as figures in horror films known as zombies. Yet, physically, it is impossible to differentiate these beings from others. They have assimilated into wizarding society easily, hoping to draw attention away from their condition. Most of them choose to lead "normal" lives, yet there are some who use their position to inflict harm on others. Rogues, essentially, immortals tend not to choose sides in the war. They've lived for centuries, isolating themselves from the politics of humans.
Very few let onto their secret. Where did these creatures come from? None of them remember. Yet, they're all marked with a blood red 'X' upon their shoulders, a sign linked back to work of Darius Ulrich, an 18th century scientist. For years, reports of these beings have been cited, the numbers progressively growing, leading researchers to assume that Ulrich passed his secret onto his ancestors to carry on his work.
Immortality - the kind of magic any witch or wizard would cheat, lie, steal, or kill to have. Yet, what these beings have learned is that such a gift comes with a price.
It's your decision as to how these characters choose to assimilate into society. Most of them are going to be neutral, but let me be the first to say, both sides are dying to have the immortals with them. They can be students at any school, they can work anywhere, they can do anything. Choose what you feel the character would be best suited to do based on the above. They will be sorted under 'Immortals' regardless of where they choose to go.
Some Key Facts Regarding Immortals - -
1) Not all immortals were created at the same time. Ulrich used his formula sparingly. While his candidates were selected at random, they were not all produced at the same time. In fact, he only made one immortal at a time ever, so as to keep his formula quiet.
2) He did pass on his formula to an ancestor of his. However, this ancestor does not abuse his power, either, and only creates a new immortal every ten or twenty years (at most).
3) The immortals have no idea how old they really are, as they don't know when they were born, or who they were before waking up on Ulrich's table.
4) Not all of the immortals know one another. Certain ones have found one another, yet others remain a mystery. Rogues, even.
5) The only indication one has of being immortal (other than the fact that they cannot die) is the blood red 'x' on their shoulders.
6) Immortals cannot sense immortality in others. The immortals who have formed a 'clan' found each other after a long, long time of searching. And, even then, they only knew because they compared the marks on their shoulders.
7) Immortals can get hurt. However, they have healing powers and, thus, are incapable of sustaining any lasting injuries.
8) Immortals cannot have children.
OC immortals are accepted. However, they require points (refer to the shop) and are available in a limited number. If you have questions, please ask.
MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED ONLY ONE CANON IMMORTAL CHARACTER EACH. OC'S CAN BE BOUGHT IN THE STORE.
