Floating Lantern Festival Continues Despite Thai Floods

A popular Thai holiday in which candle-laden lanterns are floated along waterways and launched into the skies has been disrupted in Bangkok due to ongoing flooding, but festivities are continuing as planned in some other parts of the country.

Just found this astonishing comment posted on another discussion board on its Dusit Zoo topic:
I'm not a fan of elephant shows, but this is Asia after all so I can't be bothered by it as much as I would if it was an European zoo.

The zoo appears to currently house 5 elephants - 2 females (aged 5 and 8) and a bull (5) rented from the royal kraal at Ayutthaya, and 2 unaged females.
