Floating Lantern Festival Continues Despite Thai Floods
A popular Thai holiday in which candle-laden lanterns are floated along waterways and launched into the skies has been disrupted in Bangkok due to ongoing flooding, but festivities are continuing as planned in some other parts of the country. http://blogs.wsj.com/searealtime/2011/11/0...ods-in-bangkok/ -------------------- “We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals. Animals suffer as much as we do. True humanity does not allow us to impose such sufferings on them. It is our duty to make the whole world recognize it. Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.”

Just found this astonishing comment posted on another discussion board on its Dusit Zoo topic:
I'm not a fan of elephant shows, but this is Asia after all so I can't be bothered by it as much as I would if it was an European zoo. The zoo appears to currently house 5 elephants - 2 females (aged 5 and 8) and a bull (5) rented from the royal kraal at Ayutthaya, and 2 unaged females. http://www.elephant.se/location2.php?location_id=563&show=1 Video uploaded 21 April 2011: Elephant show, Dusit Zoo, Bangkok, Thailand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScDg3KliFRk Video uploaded 21 April 2011: Elephant show, Dusit Zoo, Bangkok, Thailand II http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0H2H-G8vvc Video uploaded 20 March 2011 - elephants in an outdoor pen: Canon EOS 7D Video: Dusit Zoo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xj20d-2KXzU -------------------- "They need to move and have stimulation.
