Circus dazzles Amarillo crowds
Children with faces painted like tigers and butterflies ate cotton candy and talked excitedly about riding the elephant while they waited for the George Carden Circus Spectacular to begin. http://amarillo.com/news/local-news/2011-1...amarillo-crowds -------------------- “We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals. Animals suffer as much as we do. True humanity does not allow us to impose such sufferings on them. It is our duty to make the whole world recognize it. Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.”

Bo ...
Weighing in at almost six tons, Bo is one of the largest pachyderm performers in the world, and performs under the direction of trainer Larry Carden. http://www.dailycomet.com/article/20111118...19549?p=2&tc=pg -------------------- “We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals. Does EVENKO promote animal cruelty or not?
As you can read, EVENKO failed to notice these various serious violations. They did not think of the welfare of the animals and they also overlooked the safety of the people. We could think that it was an honest mistake by EVENKO and there was no research done before signing contract with such entertainment company. I can only say that EVENKO may be a bit naïve and has no idea of what goes on with circuses that have performing animals. Their poster portrays an elephant and other animals as happy, but with the abuse they may receive, just the opposite must be true. http://www.examiner.com/animal-advocacy-in...-cruelty-or-not -------------------- “We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals. Orange shopping carts sectioned off the El Rio Grande parking last Thursday, turning the space into an elephant-sized cafeteria for the afternoon. MEGA 107.5 blasted music from a tent outside the supermarket as super(sized) stars Bo, Cindy, and Jenny from the George Carden Circus chowed down on their favorite treats from the produce aisle: red apples, carrots, and bananas. http://sidedish.dmagazine.com/2012/03/26/e...nt-lunch-recap/ -------------------- “We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals. Animal TORTURE & ABUSE are NOT a Family Bargain!
On April 6, 2012, the George Carden Circus Spectacular sets up its three rings of abuse at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates. Circus Spectacular features elephants subjected to such terrible conditions and treatment that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has cited them on several occasions. The PETA fact sheet on George Carden Circus International (http://www.mediapeta.com/peta/pdf/George-Carden-Circus-pdf.pdf) reports cited abuse from the USDA starting in 1991 and as recently as last year. It is clear and common knowledge that animals traveling with circuses are abused to make them “perform” and live an unnatural life of mistreatment, neglect and confinement. http://www.chicagostagereview.com/?p=24202 -------------------- “We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals. Animals suffer as much as we do. True humanity does not allow us to impose such sufferings on them. It is our duty to make the whole world recognize it. MASON CITY — To see Bo up close brings a thought to mind. Never has the word “big” seemed so inadequate. Bo, one of the elephants performing at the Shrine Circus at the North Iowa Events Center, weighs 6 tons, is about 9 feet tall, has tusks as big as bowling pins and eats like, ah, well — an elephant. Thanks for posting, SL.
So the elephants don't get a daily bath? How wrong is that? -------------------- "They need to move and have stimulation. They need to be browsing, foraging, socialising. They need to have reason for movement." Pat Derby, PAWS, on elephants' needs.

Shrine Circus coming to FF
The circus will, once again, feature the Carden family. George Carden is known for his elephants. One of his elephants, Bo, is known as the best performing male elephant in North America, said Norman. http://www.fergusfallsjournal.com/2012/06/...o-ff-wednesday/ -------------------- "They need to move and have stimulation. Circus shines at CenturyLink Center
The George Cardin Circus International is the world’s largest traveling circus and boasts elephants, aerialists, a human cannonball, jumping motorcyclists, jugglers, tigers and even a pink poodle for the dog show. Cardin, a Shriner himself, puts on circuses for 30 of the 195 Shrine centers around the world. http://www.shreveporttimes.com/article/201...ext%7CFRONTPAGE -------------------- “We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals.
