Elephant kills amateur lensman
“Just as we were trying to get people to stay behind the perimeter, one man ... broke the cordon and approached the elephants with his camera,” said a forest official. He was too slow to react to a charge by one of the elephants and was trampled. http://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/bangal...icle2785206.ece -------------------- "They need to move and have stimulation. They need to be browsing, foraging, socialising. They need to have reason for movement." Pat Derby, PAWS, on elephants' needs.

Another report and more photos on this link:
Bangalore: Wild Elephants Go on Rampage, Photographer Killed Eyewitnesses said that Ramesh ventured too close to the elephants despite warning from others, and one of the elephants started chasing him. While running for his life, he tripped and his camera flew from his hands. He tried to catch it, and at the same time was attacked by the elephant. However, sources said that he might have died of shock, as there were no signs of fatal injuries on his body. http://www.daijiworld.com/news/news_disp.asp?n_id=126789 -------------------- "They need to move and have stimulation.
