Original post 20 Feb 2011:

I see from two January 2011 posts on another discussion board that African elephants M’Bili (22) and M’Dala (22) are pregnant by AI, using sperm from South African wild elephants. The calves are due in the summer of 2012.

M’Bili and M’Dala are 2 of the 5 elephants (1:4) relocated to ZooParc de Beauval from Longleat Safari Park UK in March 2003.

N'Dala gave birth to a male calf, named RUNGWE, on 20 July 2012.
For more information about this birth, please see the "Elephant Births" forum and the topic for "Rungwe".

This comment was posted yesterday on a zoo discussion board, and I will try to verify the information:

A second cow, "Mbili", died under the birth of a calf, also conceived by AI from different bulls, from the wild and from european zoos. So nobody knows, who really sired the living calf.

I have asked Zoo de Beauval, through its facebook, 4 times now for a status report on M'BILI (22).
I have asked in English and in French:
How is M'Bili? Has she died in her pregnancy?
Comment est M'BILI? At-elle mourut de sa grossesse?

The many ignorant comments posted there with regard to the "baby" (Rungwe) beggar belief ...

I now have database confirmation that M'Bili has died, possibly on 6 July 2012.
Her death reason is given as maternal death: delivery problems.
And
M'bili & M'dala at the Beauval zoo are pregnant through AI with wild bulls from South Africa. Due in early 2012. //Jackson, Texas.

Shame on everyone all along the line who was involved in this evil, reckless experiment.

They didn't even care enough to publicize the death of M'Bili and her unborn calf. Rest in Peace Dear M'Bili. She is forever free and beyond the cruel grasp of man.
