New Baby Elephant at Nong Nooch Tropical Garden
Video http://www.pattayapeople.com/default.asp?F...IdArticle=30051 This post has been edited by Space4Eles on Jun 21 2012, 11:07 AM -------------------- “We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals. Animals suffer as much as we do. True humanity does not allow us to impose such sufferings on them. It is our duty to make the whole world recognize it. Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.”

"Amazingly, the mother gave birth after 9 months, as normally elephants carry their babies for 2 years in the womb."

The caption and the commentary both assert that the calf was born after a 9-month gestation - surely that's not possible. Poor little Bird, who is destined for show biz -
