New update from SOS Elephants of Chad + photo of the wall [well]:

... the water wall of one the local community surrounding the elephants was given to the local population by our NGO SOS elephants of Chad with the private donations of the members of the group ...

I promised two others villages who dislocated because of the building of the elephant corridor to give them also a water wall before the warm season on March ...

From SOS Elephants of Chad Facebook today:

Yesterday , the SOS Elephants team rescued a baby elephant who felt into a water hole . It took us several minutes to extract him from his trap , and then a monitoring team stayed several hours with the baby giving him water and puting him under the shadow.Another team was sent in all the surrounding villages to locate the herd and finally at the sun set the herd came back and took the baby .

This is a very good new, the bad side of the story is that the Director of the National park called the local authorities to get the baby away into a plane.

We are investigating why this gentlemen wanted to get this baby out of our area , a baby who still has got his herd and can go to the wildness ????Si this is very suspcicious to me and we are now requesting an official investigation furthermore that a rescued baby was found 10 days ago after' the poaching of Tikem and that he has been officially sent to Zakouma park where we know there is no facility to have a baby in summer time because there is heavy rain. So bringing tonight a lot of items for the SOS Elephants rescue place and investigating !
