I saw it on dA when you posted it, I didn't make any mistake in the interpretation... or rather, I was just hoping you didn't draw anyone having sex.

But yeah.

About the whole anthro thing. Considering that they're people to begin with, you may want to go more animal-like when they change. I know you've got the faces, hands, and feet changed. But take more of the original animal's body and use that, the animal's posture and stature, and include that into the transformed form.

I'd have a great example of what I'm talking about with the unfinished WereBear page I had for Steve, but no, that had to go and get stolen. Agh. It's been six months, I know. But I'm not living it down. Who steals a backpack filled with drawings ? Damnit.

Hey...when drawing Spidey, does anyone else draw the spider logo upside down?

Cause I think it's neat.

I draw the spider right-side up, but I do make the legs symmetrical, so it would be a simple matter of flipping the head and thorax (that's what it's called isn't it?) I have decided to do an actual critique of this here drawing. Because I'm bored and my dinner plans have been pushed back a bit.

I dig the idea, Spidey charging at a villain or that guy who takes the last one of the sandwiches you wanted. But it doesn't seem dramatic enough to me, with the one foot pointing upwards the hand should almost be the same way, only pointing inwards, palm up, which will require a bit of foreshortening. The other arm, as it's pulled back slightly, should also have a bit of foreshortening, basically, ditch the elbow, maybe have the first up by his head, like winding up for a hay maker punch. Maybe give the shoulders a bit more of a slant, gives more of an arm swinging motion, plus that one tricep (left) looks a bit odd to me. Not too be too picky but Pete's not that big in the chest, he's got more of a slender body and the lower leg should be a tad longer or the upper leg a tad shorter, it just looks disproportionate. That knee looks like an elephant trunk, but I'll let that slide as personal style.

And that was my critique. But besides all of that, I dig it.

EDIT: Because even I have a hard time understanding what the hell I'm talking about, I whipped up a sketch of what I was talking about. The open hand took about a minute longer than the rest of it... so about a minute and a half.

I dig it, but...

It's actually one of those little Spidey images they used to stick in those Marvel Comics logo boxes on the left hand side of the covers that let you know the price and number of that issue. This particular pose was first used on for the black suit when it first showed up, but there were a couple of regular Spidey varients. The idea is that Spidey is running towards somthing in a sort of floppy Spidey body language (although this is before McFarlane revamped all that), not attacking anyone.

If your refering to the DA title...I put that up pretty much because I didn't have anything better at the time.

Not bad overall. I still think you could use a bit more practice with anatomy and musculature, but who doesn't.

I'll PM you sometime this week about an idea I've got for next month.
