After registering make a new thread in Character List, using your character's name as a title. Then, copy and paste this:

Name:
Age:
Body Age:
Race:
Bloodline:
Title:
Appearance:

Equipment:

Personality:

Demeanor:

Skills:

Languages:

Background:

___________________________________________________________
Stop copying at the line. /\

Please note that magic users and non-humans are fairly strictly limited, their profiles will be judged more harshly, and if there are many of them, they may not be accepted.

Feel free to look at other characters as an example.

Fill in the blanks. No silly names please.

Body age is equal to your age. Think of it like your age is how long you've been here, but your body age is how old you are physically, if you're immortal or get healed a lot, then your body stops aging. Remember to RP your age! If your body age is 80, for a human, you're pretty old and better not be running around and jumping!Past 20, regular healing or shapeshifting causes your body age to decrease, instead of increase. Your body age determines the effects of aging on you, not your age.

Race is Human or High or Wood Elf, Dwarf, or Gnome. Be sure to read your race's page!

Bloodline is default of 'Freeman', though for Elves you may want to put in "Noble" if you want to be part of the leading Council. Bear in mind, this makes the acceptance of your character more harshly judged. If you want to be an Elf noble, you have to take one of the Noble family names listed on the Elves information page.

Title should be left blank at first, unless an admin says otherwise. This is mostly used for what you control. If you must use it as something for what you go by, put that in quotation marks. Eg. Mayor of Nowhereville, "The Unremarkable"

Appearance, describe how you look... Your race page might help. Use physical appearance, not clothes.

Equipment, what you have. This will be basic stuff at first. Bear in mind your character, are they a poor farmer or a knight? How rich you RP your character being is up to you. You will acquire better gear later, maybe. Describe the appearance of clothes here.

Personality: How you are, deep inside. Everyone should remember this is OOC information, however Mentalists can take a brief peek at it.

Demeanor: How you act, and appear. You could be a complete ass deep inside, but act like a saint, this is how most characters will judge you, that and their experiences with you.

Skills: Say what you're good at. You should start out weak and get better. People can't be best at everything. If you take magic, you will progress much more slowly in combat-based skills. If you are interested in magic, read the Magic page THOROUGHLY. Mages advance much much more slowly then straight martial characters, both in marital prowess and magic. Again, please do not start out as masters, even if you're 300. I get older people are better, but it's still cheap to start out as Sauron.

For limits, use this guide:

*In short, do whatever you want as long as it's within reason and you're mundane/no magic (including alchemy), if you take magic, then the rules become important*

Martial - You can use as many different types of weapons as you want, and you don't really need to follow the system outlined for NPCs. Just remember to start relatively low, and then get better. Remember, the 20 point max for NPCs, which you MUST abide by too, is the absolute best possible for mortals, so I don't care if you're a 1,000 year old of or a 70 year old human, if you've mastered a blade you've mastered a blade.

Magic - You can use one (1) school of magic, progressing at a fair rate. You may also choose a single weapon to use, however your progress will be very slow. If the magic schools was 10-point, you progress slowly with your weapon, not very slowly. ( A good example is Druids, who will master Nature and Animal Bond, and get quite proficient with their fists.) Race should factor in, Elven sorcerers will train faster then Gnomish ones, in all pursuits, and Gnomish wizards will train faster then Elven wizards.

Anything listed as an ability for NPCs, you can have no problem. Just again, don't overdo it. That's the golden rule, don't overdo it.

~ Professions, such as crafting, are fine to use. You can be a blacksmith, just as long as you start out bad and get better, simple as that. Also, don't think you can master every profession in the world just because it isn't a skill~

If you chose a sorcerer class instead of a school, say something along the lines of "... is skilled in the Druidic arts..."

Languages, use the Languages page. You can learn more through RP later. Remember to RP language learning realistically, it takes time and you will sound like an idiot at first.

Background is a quick description of your character's history and backstory. You should update this as you play.

When in doubt, look at other characters as an example.

Once you're done, post away. An admin or moderator will come along and approve it (two approvals are required, to encourage discussion). Once it's approved, you can't change this page on your own. If you have edited your page and at any time after your approval, and you continue posting... Well, you'll get a warning or two, then we'll start giving out temporary bans based on the severity of the offense. If you want something changed, just post in your character thread, in a new post.

You may have multiple characters, just keep it reasonable (you know, not like 10 tongue.gif). We ask that you do not have more then one mentalist or god. Use the same account, but put all characters in your signature.

Other tips:

Be sure to put a lot of thought into your character, particularly with what you will do first, if you don't, you may find yourself bored with nothing to do. While a long term goal is helpful, just saying "I'll get there." will most likely lead to you sitting in the forest with nothing to do. On the flip side, an idea for an off the bat adventure could lead you to an end goal, even if you didn't have one.

Read all relevant info thoroughly. It is a lot... But take your time, and get it done. Stupid mistakes can be avoided this way.
