History and Details

Background:

When Roy was born it was into an average family in an average farm in an average little town situated on the outside of the kingdom. The town was small and quaint with a rather good number of people constantly moving through on their way to the center of the kingdom. Roy was a nice happy child with very little knowledge of the world outside his home. That is why he would always be at the local tavern; his parents didn’t mind because everyone in town knew him and he wasn’t going to get a drink from a bartender who saw his mom and dad everyday. He would always be talking with strangers that came through listing to their stories that they told.

Roy longed for the day that he could go out and become an adventurer and, at the age of 14 he decided to run away and earn his fortune as a great adventurer. Sadly he barely got to the next town before the infamous fish-net-monkey-blacksmith incident and he was taken back home his arm wrapped in bandages. Far from being angry his parents simply scolded him took care of his arm and sent him upstairs with-out any supper. Roy knew after that, he probably would never leave town again. Not only would his parents not allow him, in their own gentle ways, but he that kind of adventure didn’t exist. He lived out the next few years like a prisoner resigned to his fate, doing his chores, duties and jobs with little enthusiasm.

This worried his family to no end, until one day an old sideshow magician rode into town with his wagon and asked if he could stop traveling and stay here until the end of his days. The town agreed, since he had an aura of a nice old man, and gave him a small place to stay. For the next few days Roy simply watched the old man from a distance as he displayed his magic for the young children of the town. Eventually Roy wandered over and quickly found himself talking with the old man about his dreams of adventure and soon after was seen almost every day there learning everything he had to teach him about his show magic. Unfortunately the old man died the next year and the town gave him a quiet burial.

When they read his will they found that he left his wagon and all his possessions in the care of Roy, who wasn’t really surprised at this outcome. With the old man's wagon the very same week Roy said his goodbyes to his parents, family and the town and rode away in the old man’s cart. His parents were happy to see Roy off letting his know that if he ever wanted to that there would always be a bed for him.

Several weeks into his journey he met a pretty girl as she was running from a group of men chasseing after her. Being a soft touch and still having a few dreams about adventure and rescuing a damsel in distress, he hid her from the men and lied, saying she had run somewhere else. Soon after he found out that she was a thief and that those were guards she was running from, after a messed up job with several of her cohorts. Upon hearing this Roy was conflicted he didn’t want to get in trouble for hiding a thief, but he also didn’t want to turn her in right after helping her. She offered a solution to his dilemma by offering to travel with him and ‘teach’ him a few things in payment of his kindness.

The payment consisted of her teaching him about the art of thievery and providing him with company while traveling, he companions had all been captured. For a long while Roy had a crush on her as she taught him some of the things she knew. He was almost positive that she knew of his feeling towards her but she never made any type of indication that she was interested. At the end of the fourth week spent with her, both she and Roy stopped in a town to try out their skills.

The job was simple, break into a noble’s manor and steal all that they could carry, unfortunately it went as badly as the thief’s last job and the ended up running for their lives. They had, however, planned for something along this line and set up a meeting place on the outskirts of the town. But fate had played another cruel hand for Roy as the thief never showed up.

Waiting for two days on the edge of the forest Roy kept waiting for her to no avail. Eventually he headed back into the town in the hopes of finding her. After an entire day of searching he never even got a clue about where she was. It was like she disappeared into thin air.

Going back to his cart he truly felt defeated, he even wondered if he should go home and give up his adventure. Going to sleep in the cart he wondered what had happed to ruin his adventure so badly. The next day he woke up and noticed something strange, the cart and its horses were moving towards the main city of the kingdom. Trying to figure out what was going on, he finally came to the conclusion that this was fate stepping in, and with a small smile he prepared himself for his new adventure.

Relatives: Curtis Tacker (father), Eliza Tacker (mother), Sara Tacker (Sister), [Owners of a small glass working store]

Friends: Thief girl (Yes even after four weeks of traveling with her he never got her name)

Enemies: None as of yet

Likes: a warm glass of cider on a cold night, and kittens

Dislikes: Monkeys, fishnets and blacksmiths

Strengths and Skills: Has adapted several of his old mentors magic tricks into things that help with thieving (Flash powdered, noise marbles, snake sticks ect.)

Weaknesses: Gullible, Roy believes that he is destined to help with a great adventure, most likely saving the world in the process, and to that extent he will always believe that there is some sort of guiding hand directing him. AKA: fate or destiny

Property

The Cart: this cart is where Roy sleeps and stores all his equipment/goods he steals. It is a standard cart with a dark blue cloth with stars going over it. The cloth has the words in gold *The Amazing Wonder Man!* over it. There are several pieces of equipment in there that Roy uses to help him create the ‘special effects’ used in his act as a side show magician and his after work job.
