Galent is a new city; and, while one may argue that it is a trieme city, Galent is the matured child of Coepi Locus.
Coepi Locus, during the Warlord Era, was intent on preservation of the city. While the Wall of Maytet was built as an almost impenetrable barrier, and the tower itself became an attack turret, many worried that no civilization would be able to endure the stresses of the relentless ronin flowing from all directions in seemingly endless stream.
To one of these people, the solution seemed completely logical: build another city to take half the damage.
Sauric Daemont, governer of the north-western and richest section of Coepi Locus' few residential zones, fully embraced his radical new idea, and persuaded the city council (who, at this point in the warring, were mostly leftist revolutionaries, as the conservatives seemed to have already failed) into a total acceptance of his theory.
In 4141 AAV, Daemont led an initialization of twisted martial law through the civilian town. Selecting a group of half the citizen population, primarily those diseased, injured, and elderly, a small legion of the Locus army whisked the "Chosen Ones" out of the city, taking advantage of a short, 3-week armistace. Arrangements had already been made, and through a strong alliance and large payment to Ithali'yn, half a city had already been build. It was primary, and basic, but it was a city nonetheless, and it was walled.
As a matter of fact, the city was lent a significant natural advantage, as well. Erected on a small, rounded peninsula jutting off into the ocean, the city only needed protection from land on one side.
Here, in the quickbuilt junkpile of a civilization, 30,000 underfed human bodies were deposited--most handicapped in some form--and left with a large supply of food and tools.
Within one month, the city was complete. Many conclude that this unheard of achievement can only be attributed to some sort of magical or divine influence--many of the towers and buildings were constructed of non-local materials--but most historians credit this "miracle" to a northern coastal tribe, rich in material, who had been recently ravaged by an enemy army, and conclude that building tools, food, water, animals, et cetera were scavanged from the ruins there.
Regardless of one's take on the phenomena, what is certain is that Daemont's campaign was, to an extent, successful. When the city was discovered by a roaming legion, it also became involved in the continental fray. Although the few men capable of battle in Galent faught with unprecedented valor, the city was eventually overrun by naval landings.
The conquerers of the city were lead by Cyresius of the Southern Ques. As leader of the largest non-permanently established groups on the continent, he realized (partially from intuition, partially from ethnicity, and partially from the make of their equipment) that Galent was an ally of Coepi Locus; a golden target for his armies. Galent was repaired, and no person in Copei Locus knew of the battle; and, from then on, all intelligence relayed to Galent from Coepi Locus was relayed in turn to Cyresius.
By the end of the Warlord Era, when the factions had been put to rest, Galent one of the few civilizations standing; and, at that, one of the most able, as many of Cyresius's men had decided to stay there during the final stamping out of ronin armies.
Daemont, exiled from Coepi Locus on account of exporting half the city to no purpose, was found and executed on the steps of Galent's Fârun Tower in the fifth day of the second moon, 4210 AAV.
From that point on, Galent stood tall as the defender to the western coastline, and the third, distinguished, disciplined member of the Trieme.
