During the exodus from Coepi Locus, a small band of artists and performers, discontented with the war-driven prospect of Galent, broke formation with the travelers and headed further north, beyond the new city of Galent, to what were then called the Jaw of the North (due to the sharpness of the mountain peaks and the odd cloud formations in the region).

The Jaw had never before been inhabited, and the new arrivals hardly formed into a centralized civilization. Instead, they broke into tribes, often organized by art. Many of the painters and sculptors took residence by the sea; the performers, in lower altitudes to the south; the herbalists and chefs, in the west. Some also say that a band of martial artists took refuge in the very highest peaks of the range, to the northeast, and that they are among the most skilled in the world.

Every year, at the Spring Equinox, the tribes all gather on Mount Leden for a convocation where they share their progress in the arts.

The name of the range was changed to the Azule Range for political correctness shortly after the Warlord Era.
