Arthur wasn't always part of Cobb's immediate team. In fact, once upon a time, Marissa was the point man. However, Marissa and Eames came as a packaged pair, as they were in a relationship, and Cobb never quite got over his nerves about the situation. It all came to a head during one extraction job in which the mark held a gun to Marissa's head. Even though they were only in a dream, and therefore Marissa would only wake up, Eames panicked. He couldn't stand the thought of a gun held to Marissa's head. He risked the mission in order to "save" her. Cobb was furious when he realized that their relationship was compromising their entire operation. They had a choice: either leave the extraction business... or one would "bury" the other so deep into their subconscious that they didn't even remember what the other looked like. At first, Eames and Marissa planned to run away together, but that all changed. On the day when they were going to leave, Eames decided that he wanted to stay. Arthur, who had come on as Marissa's replacement, was part of the mission that went into Eames' subconscious, and obliterated the memory of Marissa. But Eames couldn't forget her forever, and after seeing her in one of their old haunts, it all came rushing back. He left the team to join Marissa in Mombasa, which is where they were working at the time of the inception job. Now, they are married, and Marissa won't have a thing to do with Cobb.

The leader of the Professionals, Miss Braxton, has formed an undercover operation hunting down the local rogues. Huntley doesn't trust Miss Braxton and her professions as far as he can throw them--this is his city, his beat, and he doesn't appreciate them getting in on it. August 14th, 2011, a woman by the last name of Jarrah is investigated after various reports of suspicious activity. The police find the working of what looks like various materials for a homemade bomb scattered around her house. The report makes its way all the way up to the DEU, who take the investigation into their hands. Fagan, Roberts, and Pryce (on the job as more of a "tourist" than anything...much to Roberts extreme discomfort) are hired to delve into this woman's mind and uncover the truth. Besides...its not torture if she's dreaming it, is it?
