Board Rules

First and foremost, welcome to Domain of the Wizard general chat board, I hope you enjoy your stay. Before you post on our board, you should be aware of our Board Rules. To make them simple, they have been split into several sections.

1. Basic Rules
All members on Domain of the Wizard should follow these basic guidelines to ensure a safe and friendly environment:
  • No Flaming or Trolling, remember this is a friendly board, let's keep it that way.
  • Please speak in English, as not all of our members can speak other languages.
  • No profanity. We will allow a few like damn or hell. The 'big ones' are filtered; please don't bypass the word filters.
  • Don't disrespect others. Treat others like you want to be treated.
  • No Spamming. Make your posts at least 3 words long (not counting emoticons). There's also a 30-second flood control for members.
  • Absolutely nothing that violates the InvisionFree Terms of Use or the Terms of Service. This WILL be enforced above anything else.
  • Large images or several images should be linked and not posted directly.
  • Please do not hijack other user's topics.
  • If you are bothered by someone or something, don't hesitate to PM a Mod or Admin about. Staff complaints should be sent to the board owner.
  • Please speak English, as not all of our members can speak other languages.
  • Don't disrespect others. Treat others like you want to be treated.
  • Use your common sense, if what you're about to say sounds wrong, it probably is. Inquire with a Mod/Manager before posting if you're not sure.
  • PLEASE post in the right forum. If your topic is placed in the wrong forum, it will be moved.
  • Please stay on topic. Off-topic chatter should go in a Chat thread or PMs.
  • No excessive "txt speaking". Domain of the Wizard isn't an IM chat, take a minute and spell your words right.
  • Before you start a new topic, look around to see if there's already a topic on the subject. It's better to contribute to an existing discussion than to start a brand new one. New topics on the same subject may be locked/merged/trashed/deleted as needed.
  • Do not post a reply just to "bump" your topic to the top of the list. It's considered spamming, if your topic is interesting to other users, they will respond which will keep it active.
  • Don't send the staff to an early grave.


2. Prohibited Content
You may not post, personal message, upload, link to, or e-mail any content that contains, promotes, instructs about, or provides prohibited content listed below:
  1. Content that infringes upon any rights (including, but not limited to, copyrights and trademarks)
  2. Any other content that promotes illegal activity or infringes on the legal rights of others
  3. Abusive, threatening, defamatory, racist, or obscene Content
  4. Viruses or any other harmful computer software
  5. False information or libel
  6. Spam, chain letters, or pyramid schemes
  7. Gambling, Illicit drugs or drug paraphernalia
  8. Terrorism
  9. Hacking or cheating Content for internet/online games
  10. Warez, Roms, CD-Keys, Cracks, Passwords, or Serial Numbers
  11. Pornography, nudity, or sexual material of any kind
  12. Excessive profanity
  13. Content that is invasive of privacy or impersonation of any person/entity
  14. Hacking materials or information.
  15. Sales or promotion of weapons, alcoholic beverages, tobacco or tobacco-related products, prescription drugs, or products that are replicas or imitations of designer goods


3. User Accounts
Each member is responsible for any and all activity performed on their account. The sharing of accounts is highly discouraged, and each member is advised to keep their account secure. Do not give account access to anyone claiming to be an InvisionFree staff member and only give account access to an Administrator/Global Moderator of this board only.

Multiple Accounts
  1. The use of multiple accounts to bypass punishments such as post disabling, mod queue, suspension, or banning is strictly prohibited and the new account(s) will be banned.
  2. Using a second account to cheat in poll voting or such. The new account will be banned, and your original account may be punished.
  3. Using a second account with the sole intent to break the rules. Both the new account and your original account will be banned depending on the severalty of the offense.
  4. In general, don't attempt to register a second account unless you have Administrator permission.
If you have lost your account's password, first attempt to recover it by going to the Lost Password Form before re-registering.

Profiles
  • Avatars: Your avatar should be 120 x 120 pixels in size or smaller. Uploaded avatars should be smaller than 25kb, off-site avatars should stay below 60kb.
  • Personal Photos: Your personal photo should be 200 x 200 pixels in size or smaller. Uploaded personal photos should be smaller than 25kb, off-site personal photos should stay below 100kb. Elite and Staff members are allowed a larger uploaded photo.
  • Signature:
    • There is a 500 character limit on signatures.
    • You can use BBcodes, but they count to the 500 character limit.
    • No more than 2 images per signature, unless they are small images (in both size in pixels and file size). Emoticons do not count as images.
    • Any images should be less than 80 kb.
    • A max of 10 emoticons per signature.
    • Your signature should not exceed 250 x 600 pixels. Here is a size guide
For avatars, personal photos and signature, Keep it clean! This message board can be used by people of all ages and backgrounds. If, in our judgment, your avatar/personal photo/signature is inappropriate for any reason, it will be deleted. If you place it back in, you may be banned, disabled, restricted, or queued, so watch it! If you have any doubts about the appropriateness of the avatar/personal photo/signature you want to use, discuss this with a moderator before placing it in!

Username Changes
  • To request a screen name change, you will need to PM Starpaul20.
  • You may request a name change once every 90 days.
  • Your allowed minor changes once every 30 days. This includes dropping/adding numbers at the beginning/end of your name, adding/deleting spaces, fixing spelling and/or grammar and capitalization.
  • You should search to make sure that the user name you want is not already taken BEFORE asking.
  • Your PM must be titled [NAME CHANGE] New Name Here; replace "New Name Here" with the new screen name you want. If you do not put the name you want in the title of your PM, it will probably be ignored.


4. Punishment for Rule Violations
If you have been a bad boy/girl and violated any rule stated in these guidelines, one of several things will happen:
  • Verbal Warning (Off the Record; No Action Taken)
  • Formal Warning (up to 10)
  • Restricted (PM/PYF)
  • Mod Queue
  • Post Disabling
  • Suspension
  • Banning
You may not evade any punishment for any reason. Doing so will drastically lengthen and/or add to your punishment. Please do not publicly complain about or demand a reason for another user's punishment. Any type of discussion about warnings, bans, deletion, or topic locking should be done over PM or e-mail with the moderators or other members concerned.

If you have had a formal warning on your account for more than 180 days, we may remove it depending on what the original offense was. Do not request warning to be dropped.


5. Disclaimer Stuff
  • By registering at Domain of the Wizard, you agree to follow the rules stated here, and accept the authority of the administrators and staff. You also have agreed to follow the InvisionFree Terms of Use.
  • We reserve the right to edit, move, close or delete any posted content. Topics may be deleted, archived or closed to keep the board organized and up to date.
  • We reserve the right to modify these rules at any time. By continuing to use your account here, you agree to any rules changes.
  • By registering on this board, you agree that your account status may be changed or deleted at any time without any warning or prior explanation. You use Domain of the Wizard at your own risk and the board owner/staff makes no warranty that the information supplied is correct or accurate.
