If Only

I had a heart.

Mutts pads touched the ground as her nose flared, taking in the scents of what the humans left long ago. She moved quickly through the plaza. The tiles moved and further cracked and broke under her paws. The gardens bloomed beautifly and the scents from the beautiful flowers filled the surrounding area. She quickly moved along throught the plaza. Sniffing the area for scraps left behind by the humans who had for the most part died off or atleast in the area did.

She ran after a rat that had scurried into her path. Her jaws snapped on its small body, quickly comsuming the rodent. She snapped on a few other rodents she found scirrying around. A large desk caught her attention. She made her way behind it. Papers and pens litterd the desk shelves. She placed her front paws on one shelf knocking over a small bowl of red and white objects. She sniffed them. They held a powerful pungent sent. She instantly walked away. She wanderd the odd palces people seemed to have filled with odd objects that to her seemed so pointless. What were these human doing with such strange machines, when the land had that was needed.
