Several Decades Into The Future....
In the absence of human domination, it is accurate to say that nature reclaimed much of its former territory. But before to journey into that, lets start with the WWVI (World War 6), the earth's taken much damage. With modern technology increasing, and human habitats expanding, nature sunk back into it's roots. Humans were powerful and abound. The most powerful of the continents began to degree in North America's favor, and it's favorite country? The nooks of the USA. Envy is a horrible thing that nips at all human hearts, and as such, other countries wanted in on the USA's economical action. Refusing to give their trade secret a war broke out with the USA and Russia, which that almost fallen into ruins after their recent WW.
Recent technical advances in Russia's war weapons, increase. Thus, they bombarbed the US with strange toxic bombs. Sure they exploded when they made impact, but not as large as a war bomb should. The bombs were loaded with toxic gases, that attacked the human nervous system. making one or two breathes of it kill instantly. Few americans survived the blast, the one's who did migrated up to Canada, forcing the wolf out of it's habit. Forced to live off of the human remains, wolf's are made D&D their new habitat.
The bomb had a side affect on the wolves born into the lands as well. They took on certain mutantions from the corrupted oxygen, such as strange color pigments, ubnormal eye colors, and a few other side-effects...
