Site Debate., Everybody Please Read.

It has come to my attention that when viewing the site as a guest you are able to see all of the boards. This debate is here to see whether people would like to make this site private, so as a guest you cannot view the boards, or keep it the way that it is.

Making the site private would mean that all members would have to sign in before seeing the boards, the chat box, and everything else...

It would also mean that new members would have to register to join the site and likely wait for approval from either me or Kino...

Do you guys think it's a good idea?

I think so! If only because I've heard of authors going onto RP forums and stealing Ideas to make money off of them!!! And if they can come in as guests-- I dunno, I just think it's wrong.

You have a good point there. And I have heard of it happening... =/ I'm not sure how other members here would react if their roleplay ideas were turned into novels... Hmn.

I'm with Angel there, There are some pretty good story material here from members that enjoy writing, if they wanted to publish anything it is their right not some snoopers.

Also, some of us have info like our facebook pages and our emails in our profiles, if anyone could see that we might get harrassed through those messages.

If someone is so desperate they don't want to be viewed in the active members list, they should sign in anonymously (Sp?) and stay hidden. -did that for some time-

I say make it private. New members can be patient and wait for approval from our lovely admins.

I think it would also be a good idea to make it private, it would be more beneficial to those on here with amazing ideas as shadow said, so yea make it private

I feel neutral on the matter. It can work as being private and it can work as not being private. A pro is yes, that would allow ideas and fanfictions not to be stolen but then a con is sometimes before people want to join a site they want to see what kind of site it is first to know whether they really want to join. Also, the net is a open channel all over the place, its sad to say people do things like taking someone's work to pass off as their own. Even with privacy up that might not necessarily stop certain individuals from joining then stealing stuff that way too. Either way to me it doesn't matter, the decision is up to LS and the admin team.
