Had she meant to leave? Did Maka mean it like some kind of survival test, or was Chrona just accidentally lost? The pinkette swallowed hard, his tongue becoming thick, as his mind mulled over the worst thoughts. He was shaking, his hand on his arm as a sort of half-comforting nervous tick, and Ragnarok was sitting on his head, being unhelpful as always.

"Wh-What should I do?" He whimpered, looking around, wide blue eyes casting nervous glances around the park. To the swings which no children were swinging on, to the slide, which had a child screaming at the top. Chrona felt like screaming, felt like hiding in Mr. Corner, but Mr. Corner was so very far away, and what if he left, and Maka came back, and then she was angry?!

Another shudder of fear ran through the pinkette's body at this thought. Medusa-sama had always gotten angry at him when he'd left a spot she'd told him to stay in... Maka was surely the same right? It was the same for everyone? "Of c-course it's the same... It's always the same... E-Everyone h-hates it wh-when someone m-moves..." He whimpered, "I d-don't think I c-can deal with this... Maka...

The Shinigami let out a sigh of boredom as he strolled through the park. Liz and Patty had gone off to do who knows what, which left Kid all by himself. His golden eyes scanned the some-what deserted park. "Heh there's usually at least someone around here..." He mumbled to himself as he dusted off a bench and sat.

Death The Kid ran a hand through his asymmetric hair with another sigh. "There has to be at least something to do. He continued scanned the somewhat big park to see a familiar face. What was his name again? Something with a C....Oh right. It was Chrona. "Chrona,,? Without Maka? Now that's a sight to see." He said to himself.

The poor boy looked frightened by every single thing. Out of the sympathy Kid felt, and his pure boredom, he stood up. He dusted his pants off as he walked over to the other male. "Chrona? Are you alright?"

The pinkette flinched violently, turning, body swinging widely, hand reflexively going for Ragnarok's sword form, and Chrona's blue eyes wide and terrified. Taking in a deep, shuddering breath, he relaxed a little, folding in on himself. It was the Shinigami... The little shinigami, the one who had fought him evenly on that ship...

He could barely remember that... They'd been so full, Ragnarok had eaten so many souls that day, and he'd been caught in hell inside his own head, and the screaming wouldn't stop...

He shook himself out of it, looking away, blue eyes sliding down and to the left. "M-Maka... h-Have you s-seen her? I c-can't d-deal with the park w-without her..." He mumbled. " I d-don't know how..."

Kid stepped back out of his reflexes, ready to fight if Chrona were to attack him. Even though he didn't have Liz and Patty, he was still good at hand to hand combat. He blinked, letting his guard down as the other had done the same.

The young shinigami blinked. He placed his index finger on his chin, trying to remember if he had seen her. "Maka? Last time I saw here she was with you." He said, now looking back at the still scared Chrona. He sighed a bit, and couldn't help but feel even worse for him. That is until Kid had come up with a brilliant idea.

"Well I could help you look for her if you'd like. She's bound to be somewhere nearby in the park." Kid smiled.

Blue eyes widened, turning dark with emotion for a moment, before Chrona waved his hands in front of him, hurriedly. "N-No! You d-don't have t-to do that! I w-wouldn't kn-know how to deal w-with you helping me! Y-you must st-still be mad... af-fter our fight..." He murmured, looking down and away again.

He knew that Ragnarok would still be angry for days after a fight like that... and it had only been weeks ago, and the Shinigami had to have a long memory... and... Lady Medusa had always said that because they were witches, the death-gods would never forgive them...

"I-I th-think... I sh-should stay here... M-Maka might come back..." His voice was hopeful, but held an edge of pessimistic knowledge to it. He knew that it would take days, probably, for her to remember him there... but that was okay. "I sh-should b-be here when she g-gets back..." He mumbled, dropping into a crouch.

Golden eyes blinked, now the shinigami's face had a calm smile. "Well I'm not mad after our fight if that makes you feel better." Kid knew that Chrona wasn't working for the witches anymore. Though there was always that small doubt in the back of his mind. Oh well he could always ignore that right?

"No offense Chrona but I don't think Maka won't be coming for a while. So let me help you out. Please?" Kid asked, still such a calm smile on his face. He knew the only way to get Chrona to move from his spot was to find Maka. Wherever she is.

Chrona swallowed, and even Ragnarok stayed silent on this one, X'ed out eyes watching the shinigami silently. Was he really not mad? Or was he just saying that because it wasn't an opportune time to attack the demonswordsman?

Licking his lips, the pinkette blinked, "B-But... she might... M-Might g-get mad if I move..." He murmured, looking away. After all, Lady Medusa had always gotten angry, and if his own mother got angry at him...

Why wouldn't Maka? She'd only been friends with him for a couple of days, and friends got mad at each other, they hurt each other, look at Lady Medusa and Eruka! But...

M-Maka was nicer than that, right? Maka wasn't like that...

Kid continued to smile at him. What was there to be mad about? The fight was in the past and now Chrona wasn't with the witches so everything should be perfectly fine.

The black haired boy sighed. "If she does get mad I'll take the blame for you, does that sound fair?" His smile grew a bit bigger. He had a feeling Chrona might have said yes to that. "Either way Chrona, Maka may be mean to Soul and Black*Star, but she's nice to you. What would make you think she would ever get mad at you?"

"E-Everyone gets m-mad at me..." The whisper was plaintive, truth in the eyes of this hurt child, and Chrona shook his head, "I d-don't know how to d-deal with everyone get-ting mad at me..." He mumbled.

But... Kidd said Maka would be mad at Kidd, not Chrona... M-Maka wouldn't h-hate Chrona.... S-So... It might be okay to m-move, right?

"Just go with him already, Jesus! Idiot." Ragnarok chided, his voice small and squeaky, and a short, but hard, tap to the ear made Chrona yelp, "Oww! F-Fine! Okay! Just d-don't hit me again!" He whinered, covering his ears, before moving to stand up.

Kid smile grew a bit bigger as Chrona now stood up. He glanced around, noticing a small patch of brown hair coming from a near by bush. He blinked, now examining it and listened closely for any voices. He couldn't help but smirk a bit as he heard Soul's obnoxious voice coming from the bush. He knew that wherever Soul was, Maka was there too.

The shinigami looked over at Chrona, now smiling. "Well I found Maka already." He pointed slightly over at the bush the two were poorly hiding in.

"Dammit, I told you Maka, this wouldn't work!" Soul grumbled, "So uncool... I have LEAVES in my hair."

Maka popped out of the bush, as if she'd been standing there all along, and grinned, an embarrassed blush on her face, and she laughed, punching Kidd in the shoulder, a little harder than necessary. "Oh gosh, Kidd! You ruined the game!"

"G-Game?" Chrona's voice seemed to break on the word, as if he was afraid that was all their friendship was, as if he were worried that was all Maka viewed him as. A game to be won.

"Yeah, silly! Hide and go seek!" She smiled, warm-hearted, "Sorry, I guess it's not a fun game for you, huh? But, hey! At least you talked to Kidd on your own, hm?"

Kid glared at Maka for a bit, punching her shoulder back as well. "Haha I'm sorry Maka I didn't mean to. I just tried to help Chrona." He smiled with an 'innocent' face.

Chrona still lopked confused and terrified, so Soul stepped up, rolling his red eyes, "Look, why don't we forget this totally uncool game ever happened, and head over for some icecream." He mumbled, shrugging.

Maka was about to agree, when the world seemed to halt. "Wh-what's Ice c-cream?" A tentative question came from beside her, and the boy fiddled with the hem of his long black dress, blue eyes darting around as if he wasn't sure if he'd said it.

Kid looked over at Soul, trying his best not to stare at his asymmetric hair. Which was now covered in leaves. He looked at Chrona with a smile to make sure he didn't feel scared of what he had just asked about. "Well ice cream is a frozen desert that tastes good." He smiled, trying to explain it as simple as he could.

Even though Kid wasn't very fond of ice cream, mostly since the scoops never come out symmetrical, he would force himself to eat some if it meant Chrona wouldn't have another break down. But wait.

Why was Kid suddenly starting to care for Chrona? It's not like he did anything special to him...Did he?

A small, tiny smile, and Maka gave a huge one, Chrona nodding, "O-Okay..." He murmured. If Maka wanted this.. Ice cream.. then he would accompany her.

Soul turned blood red eyes to Kidd, watching his face morph from composed to concerned. He smiled, "Let's just get going already, or Lettie's shop is gonna close, and we'll never get any."

Kid continued on smiling until his golden eyes had met Soul's. His face now had a questionable look for the smile on the others' face but chose not to care much for it. The shinigami nodded, turning on his heels and walking with the three to the ice cream shop.

It wasn't that very far from the park, probably to lure in hungry kids after they were done playing.
