The Digidestined::
The Digidestined were human children called into the Digital World to become the Messiahs of all Digimon. The Digital World has the ability to call upon humans in time of need, although the humans do not always perform the functions they are meant to once within the program.
Digimon had never seen humans before and, upon the arrival of the first Digidestined, experienced a bit of culture shock as the humans clodded around the Digital World. These humans met Digimon that were particularly 'connected' to them and they became a travelling party. But their true mission was not revealed to either the Digimon or the humans.
Throughout their time in the Digital World, the humans tried to right the wrongs they saw. But one evil being was too large to overcome. Even with the power of their Digimon and Digivolution, the Digidestined were unable to defeat the nameless evil. But then the humans found the Crests. These were ensignias of power, named after a particular virtue possessed by each of the humans. The Digital World had known about these Crests before the humans had come into the world, but just regarded them as artifacts, not weapons. Even the Digimon that suspected the Crests were powerful could never get them to work.
The humans changed all that. The Crests responded to the bond between the Digidestined and the Destined Partner, allowing them to merge together into a pure warrior. These pure warriors fought the nameless evil, but accounts are fuzzy on the result of the battle. Some scholars believe the Digidestined prevailed and light was balanced against darkness. This brought about peace. Some scholars believe the nameless evil prevailed and darkness was balanced against light. This brought about peace.
And there are some scholars who believe the battle still continues within the construct of the Digi-Core. The being known as Lightdramon is considered to be the purest warrior, representing the Digidestined and their desire to fight evil. The being known as Darkdramon represents the Digimon and their desires of domination over a world they don't even know exist. These warriors duke it out within the Digi-Core, fueled by the powers of light and evil as represented in the Digital and Real Worlds.
Are the humans who now roam the Digital World heirs to the legend of the Digidestined? And if so, can the humans rise above the evil to triumph and fulfill their legend? And if all this happens, will the Digidestined ever be able to go home?
Elevation X::
Elevation X is a group of humans dedicated to a single mission: to eradicate weaker Digimon and promote the infection of every compatible Digimon with the X-Antibody.
The Council of Light::
The Council of Light pretends to be the official government of the Digital World and does a pretty good job of it. To the untrained observer, the Council of Light could seem like the most legitimate government in the world. Problem is that the citizens of the Digital World never voted for these people, so the council really has no power. The Council was formed in the early days of the Digital World to resist evil and bring stability and peace. Unfortunately, it is now filled with bureaucrats, politicians, and bumbling idiots. The Supreme Crest Bunnies are all high-ranking members and fully supported by the Council, at the moment.
