Promotion of the best kind (something that isn't mine in other words)!

Although the manga is better for a fuller story, the DVD box set of the anime adaption of this fantastic story is now available to buy in the UK. Best of all it comes with the original Japanese voice track for purists like myself who first saw it like that, but for those who didn't the English dub is there and has a bunch of extras involving interviews and recording sessions with the dub actors.

So what if it has a slightly dodgy second half and the anime ending butchered the manga one? Everything before that is perfect. An excellent story of how a person with the best intentions can get drunk on power and ultimately turn bad.

I'm sure fans might want to disgree with me on this so I'll mention it briefly: am I the only one that thinks Light is driven deeper into his evil leanings by L? I think he is very responcible for Light's fall into madness.
