You should add these things:

Shuttles/Shuttle bay: about 3 shuttles in a ship, they are all in the shuttle bay. The shuttle isnt as fast as the main ship, or have as high shields or as powerful weapons, but it can give covering fire. shuttles carry up to 6 people: 2 shuttle crew members, and 4 other people.

Planets: planets like earth, the moon, jupider, venus, pluto, all of them! like a desert planet! and a snow planet, water planet, etc. etc. and shuttles can fly down to them and drop people off.

Play as aliens or Humans: in the start of the game you can pick between aliens, and humans. (i would be happy to make a prototype icon for the aliens) aliens have a cloaking device that cloaks tehm for about 10 seconds, but shuts their weapons down, they're ships are also slower than human ships but on foot they are faster. ninja.gif

The aliens thing sounds like a Halo reference. I think Planets have been planned already. These ships aren't big enough for shuttles.

then add an elevator in the back of the ship that leads to a lower floor that is the shuttle bay!

You'd need a very large ship to launch shuttles from it...

Let me just clear up a couple of things before I post my actual opinion tommorrow.

I think you're confusing shuttles with fighters. A shuttle is to take people from one place to another. A fighter is a single or multi-manned vessel used to defend the mother ship or attack an enemy ship. Escape pods/shuttles are specialized versions of shuttles with a distress beacon and more onboard supplies, like basic food and medical supplies.

It doesn't sound feasible with the ships as of now, but later there will definitely be ship with hangars.

A hangar basically stores a shuttle, fighter, or escape pod, and then that can be taken out into an open area to be maintained or to be prepped for launch, and then it it sent out by a launching platform.

"Disposable" hangars do not have an area for maintenance or preparation, and simply have a storage area and launch platform. The ships need to be maintained at starports. Obviously, these are cheaper and take up less space than a regular hangar.

OK here is my lowdown.

Shuttles:

Shuttles are small to medium people moving craft. They are not nearly as fast and not nearly as well armed as fighters, but they cost much less and are more fuel efficient.
Their sensor range is about the same as a fighter, but it is not for tactical purposes.
Shuttles have a short endurance, due to the fact they are for shuttling people to and from places such as star bases and planets.

Fighters:

Fighters are very small 1-2 person attack craft with specific purposes in mind, They carry very powerful weapons systems and sensors, but there range is very limited because of the poor efficiency of their engines combined with the fact there fuel tanks are very small to make way for larger engines for improved speed.
Fighter ranges vary for their role, but all of them are short.

Defense fighters have the shortest endurance because they are only meant to defend bases with the appropriate facilities to maintain them. Endurance: ~ 4 hours.

Assault fighters have a slightly longer endurance because they are meant to travel to their target and return. Endurance: ~ 6 hours.

Reconnaissance fighters have the longest range because they are meant to go on extended periods of scouting. Endurance: ~ 12 hours

The facility required to launch shuttles is quite basic; an airtight room that can be exposed to space when the shuttle is launching, the room only needs to be about the size of a large master bedroom. This is the “disposable” shuttle hangar.

The facilities required upkeep the shuttle is a different story, it is the size of a small apartment.

not an bad idea for a game like this this will make it more realistic but

ship size !!!

we can have the ships being the same sizes but when you get out of your seat and walk around you can have the ships alot bigger and maybe decks.

Yeah, they ain't bad ideas at all. But, again, those are ideas for the later stages of the game. I'm not saying to stop spreading your ideas for the future, but at least organize them somewhere. Make a new thread for them specificly saying that it is reserved for future ideas only.

Actually, I don't even know what he is trying to say here... so stop insulting each other. This doesn't make any sense to me. My best guess is ships with multiple decks. Either way... bigger ships and/or ships with multiple decks is a pretty uninformed suggestion. This reminds me of a Den5k suggestion.

To be honest, I only understood the part where spacecraft with onboard hangers was mentioned. Everything else was a huge mess that appeared from nowhere.
Now, in appropriate and clear language, explain your thoughts again please.

Decks? I doubt we would have like 50 people in one ship. Then just maybe decks would be added. But seriously. Having 4 floors for like 6 people is just gonna make them need to walk longer to consoles =/
