Since it is February and we'll soon have been open for a month, the staff decided it would be fun for our first official board-wide event!
<p>
February 14th is known to all as Valentine's Day, a day for lovers and couples to show how much they really mean to one another (or an excuse for the candy and card companies to reap in profits), and no one would've ever expected the tragedy that occurred. Around 8PM on Valentine's Day, Voldemort and his Death Eaters attacked three upscale muggle restaurants and a low class one, as well as the most popular cafe in Diagon Alley. Destruction was everywhere. You couldn't avoid it even if you tried.

Each of the places was completely destroyed, leaving scores of people dead or injured. The muggle death toll totaled sixty four and the magic death toll was eighteen. For muggles, twelve are in critical condition from the attacks and nine managed to escape relatively unharmed. Witches and

wizards were not as lucky. The death toll was eighteen, five are in critical condition and only one made it out relatively unharmed.

Aurors arrived at the scene fifteen minutes after the blast and no death eaters could be found.

As far as the staff is concerned, these deaths are NPC's. They could be parents of friends, or people your characters don't know at all. Or, if you'd like, you can have your character's own parents (or parent, singular) have been hurt or injured during the raids. If you would like your character's parents to have been a part of the death/critical toll numbers, please reply to this thread.
