Title: To Blog or Not to Blog
Description: Hogwarts GG-type Blog?

Hey guys! So I was thinking about incorporating a sort of 'blog' for Hogwarts, something along the lines of what Gossip Girl is. It's anonymously written, but is actually done by Rita Skeeter. Please cast your vote above and let us know your thoughts below!

OOH! I REALLY LIKE THAT IDEA! Lots of the sites I'm on has that feature. x) Sowwy for the caps. I like stating my excitement. 8D

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
if it was done on tumblr, you could open the askbox and let people suggest rumors as well >.>

I agree with beanie on how we could do it on Tumblr! That would be a great way to do it I think :]
At any rate, I'm all for a gossip rag at Hogwarts. And no, this isn't just because Lucius and Narcissa could possibly show up in it >.>

I'd like to have it on the site, not on an external site to be linked to, but there will be an account made for it, if we end up doing it, and suggestions can be PM'd to the account.

Another reason for doing it on the site is because that's a LOT to ask for someone who takes on Rita to have to manage something on another site all together. The staff isn't going to be posting it- we will be looking at it in order to ensure that the material is suitable to be posted but we are not writing it or managing it. I do not want to give that responsibility to a member who doesn't need it.

It could be a few members actually writing the thing, and then Rita's player could be an editor and read over the rumors/articles before posting them, if that would work to lighten the load?

I'll say yes, but considering the issues I had *cough* elsewhere, I would hope that players would be consulted to make sure that it doesn't interfere with pre-determined plots.

The blog will be a gossip blog only seen by Hogwarts students and written anonymously. It's all 'rumours' and it won't be mandatory that it should effect anyone's character any more than a rumour you hear in passing would effect you.

I love this idea! I agree with Lexi, though, that it should stay within the site. It's just as easy for someone to PM a suggestion as it would be to send something to Tumblr.
Another thing I want to note, though, (which is strictly my opinion) is that I don't think characters/members should have to be consulted before a rumor is written about them. I mean, it's just a rumor. Plus, it's not like it's going to be something so horrid that your character would be harmful to him-or her-self. Besides, I'm sure at the 'real' Hogwarts, students had rumors spread about them all the time, especially with the gawking Slytherins.

Oh hai guys... figured I'd throw my opinion out there
This is a fairly common feature on sites nowadays, a few of which I've already previously had a hand in on sites I used to play on. It is a fine line to walk, but if you do police it too much then the fun tends to get sucked out of it. I like to believe I'm a sensible human being, and that using discretion with submitted rumors wouldn't be an issue. However, like Lexi mentioned, they are merely rumors. While some can be quite factual, and used to propel your own plots (yay!) a bulk of them are going to be fake... not completely off the wall, but still fake. Ie, plain old rumors.

I think it's a great idea. Plus if we want juicy tid bits of future plots to come annouced this may be a great way of getting it started...a little rumor to get the ball going :P
I think it's a fantastic idea!
